Successful fulfillment of the program’s requirements and a favorable decision from an immigration judge would result in the award of a green card, signifying permanent residency.
The initiative seeks to extend support to illegal immigrants who have formed longstanding ties within the U.S.
This approach echoes the Obama administration’s enactment of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in 2012, which postponed the deportation of illegal migrants who arrived in the U.S. as minors.
Over One Million Migrants Apprehended at U.S. Southwest Border in FY24’s First Half
