US, Ukraine to sign 10-year security deal for troop training, weapons production, ongoing military aid

The US and Ukraine are expected to sign a bilateral security pact at the G7 summit in Italy on Thursday that would outline the US’ long-term security relationship with Ukraine as its conflict with Russia continues.

Sources familiar with the matter told CNN that the pact is expected to be an “executive agreement,” which is less formal than a treaty and nonbinding for future presidents.

The agreement is expected to last for 10 years, with the US committing to the continued training of Ukraine’s troops, cooperation in producing weapons and equipment, greater intelligence sharing, and the continued providence of military assistance.

The agreement between the US and Ukraine will reportedly be similar to other bilateral agreements Ukraine has signed with 14 other countries, including Germany, France, and the UK. 17 other countries have reportedly committed to negotiating similar pacts.

The deal will reportedly include a promise from the US to hold consultations with Ukraine following a future attack by Russia to determine the next steps, people familiar with the agreement told the outlet…..

Connecticut Prosecutors Arrest 4 Democrats For Allegedly Misusing Absentee Ballots

The Bridgeport residents arrested Tuesday include Alfredo Castillo, a Bridgeport city councilman, and Wanda Geter-Pataky, the vice chair of the Bridgeport Democratic Town Committee.

Also charged are Nilsa Heredia and Josephine Edmonds, “two other campaign workers who were involved in the 2019 election between Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim and his Democratic challenger Marilyn Moore,” according to local media.

The presser released by Griffin’s office show these individuals have been charged with “Unlawful Possession of Absentee Ballots,” with all but Castillo also being charged with witness tampering.

An arrest warrant affidavit cited by Griffin’s office accuses Geter-Pataky “of failing to sign as an assister on an absentee ballot application that she had filled out on behalf of a prospective voter and misrepresenting eligibility requirements for voting by absentee ballot when she reportedly told a citizen not to vote in person and that she would pick up the citizen’s absentee ballot.” The citizen in question, according to Griffin’s office, “later told [state] investigators that the defendant told her not to speak to anyone about the matter.”…

Democrat Challenger To Elise Stefanik Calls For ‘Re-Education Camps’ For Trump Voters

PAULA COLLINS/YOUTUBE

During a virtual town hall event last week, Paula Collins, who is challenging Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., suggested that supporters of former President Trump be sent to “re-education camps,” according to audio obtained by the Post Millenial.

Collins, a marijuana tax attorney, argued that even if a majority of Democrats are elected to Congress in November, there will still be a need for re-education camps to “put[] it all back together again” after “this MAGA nightmare.”

The uncontested Democrat nominee for NY-21 said, “Even if we were to have a resounding blue wave come through, as many of us would like, putting it all back together again after we’ve gone through this MAGA nightmare and re-educating, basically — that sounds like a, rather, a re-education camp.” She told voters on the call they will need to find “another way to phrase” the concept of “re-education camps” with the general public.

Stefanik called for Democrat leadership to condemn the comments. Stefanik said in a press release, “Joe Biden, Hakeem Jeffries, and Chuck Schumer must immediately condemn this statement.”

Instead of retracting and apologizing, Collins blamed the media for airing her controversial remarks. Collins claimed Stefanik is attacking her because she is “panicked.”

Hezbollah Fires Barrage of Rockets at Israel in Retaliation for Killing a Senior Commander

Hezbollah said it carried out at least 17 operations against Israel on Wednesday, including eight in response to what it called the “assassination” by Israel in Jouaiyya.

In one, Hezbollah fighters fired guided missiles at an Israeli military factory. In another, the group said it had attacked Israeli military headquarters in Ein Zeitim and Ami’ad, and an Israeli military air surveillance station in Meron.

A security source said the group fired some 250 rockets at Israel throughout Wednesday, the most in a day in this conflict so far. More than 100 rockets were launched at once, one of the group’s biggest barrages since the hostilities began in October.

Speaking at a funeral procession for Abdallah in the Hezbollah-controlled southern suburbs of Beirut, senior Hezbollah official Hashem Safieddine said the group would increase the intensity, force and quantity of its operations against Israel in retaliation for his killing.

“If the enemy is screaming and moaning about what happened to it in northern Palestine, let him prepare himself to cry and wail,” Safieddine said.

Michael Rulli’s Surprisingly Close Win in Ohio Special Election Expands GOP’s Narrow House Majority

Johnson served in Congress for over a decade before exiting in January to lead Youngstown State University, shrinking the GOP’s thin majority and leaving a monthslong vacancy in his place.

Heading into Tuesday’s special election, Kripchak’s campaign was in an uphill battle against a Trump ally in a district the former president won back in 2020.

They’ll go against each other again in the fall when they compete for a full two-year term – but a forecast from Decision Desk HQ/The Hill puts Rulli with a 99 percent chance of winning against his Democrat rival.

Judge defends decision to release suspect from custody just days before she allegedly butchered child

On June 2, 32-year-old Bionca Ellis allegedly stole a knife from a Volunteers of America Thrift Store and headed to a Giant Eagle grocery store in North Olmsted, Ohio, about 15 miles west of Cleveland. There, she came upon 38-year-old Margot Wood and her 3-year-old son, Julian.

At a court hearing on Monday, Ellis smirked and laughed as she heard the horrific charges against her. Jared Wood — Julian’s father and Margot’s husband — pleaded with the court: “Do everything you can to keep this monster behind bars.”

It appears the justice system in Ohio did not keep Ellis in custody when it had the chance. Just a few days before the deadly assault, Ellis appeared in court for a hearing on an alleged probation violation in connection with some merchandise stolen from Walmart last year.

Magistrate Gregory Sponseller of the Rocky River Municipal Court had already ordered Ellis to receive a psychiatric evaluation after she seemed to have difficulty comprehending what he was saying and had perhaps even fallen asleep while he was talking to her. “I’m not sure she fully understands the simple requirements the court has imposed on her,” Sponseller said at the time.

Unfortunately, no mental health professional was available, and Rocky River Municipal Judge Brian Hagan determined at the time that to keep Ellis in custody on a minor alleged parole violation would have violated her rights. So he authorized her release…

Earlier this year, In-N-Out president Lynsi Snyder said that she didn’t want to raise menu prices out of an “obligation” to her customers.

But that’s exactly what the burger chain was forced to do.

“On April 1st, we raised our prices incrementally to accompany a pay raise for all of the Associates working in our California restaurants. The price increase was also necessary to maintain our quality standards,” In-N-Out confirmed to KTVU-TV.

Now, the starting minimum wage for In-N-Out employees is between $22 to $23 per hour, depending on the restaurant location.

The price of a double-double meal — which includes a burger, fries, and a drink — now costs as much as $13.63 in San Francisco, KRON-TV reported. The same meal costs about $11.44 in Los Angeles County, according to KTLA-TV.

The Democrat-instituted mimimim-wage hike is directly responsible for the price increase, an In-N-Out spokesperson confirmed to KTLA….

Russian warships, nuclear submarine enter Havana Harbor under watch of U.S. destroyers

A group of Russian warships that sailed close to Florida shores, closely watched by U.S. destroyers, entered the port of Havana on Wednesday morning ahead of Russian military exercises in the Caribbean.

The presence of the Russian warships in Cuba just 90 miles from U.S. shores, is seen as a gesture of defiance by Vladimir Putin, who last week warned about taking “asymmetrical” steps and the possibility of sending long-range weapons to third countries to attack Western targets after President Joe Biden allowed Ukraine to use U.S. weapons to strike inside Russia.

The Biden administration has dismissed the Russian naval movements as a messaging tactic in response to U.S. support for Ukraine. But the U.S. Navy nevertheless deployed a powerful flotilla in response, sending three destroyers, a Coast Guard cutter and a maritime surveillance plane to stalk the Russian vessels.

Declassified footage of most powerful nuclear bomb ever detonated was top secret for decades

Four years ago Russia released footage of the biggest nuclear explosion ever after electing to keep it under lock and key for decades.

In October 1961, the country detonated a devastating nuclear bomb at Mityushikha Bay on the deserted Novaya Zemlya island.

Thought to be 3,800 times more powerful than the 1945 atomic bombings of Hiroshima, the Tsar Bomba (or Tsar Bomb) was packed with 50 megatons of explosives and weighed 27 tons.

The bomb itself was around eight meters in length and for it to be dropped some of the fuel tanks were removed from the Tu-95V Soviet bomber.

The plane carrying the weapon was around 4,000 metres above ground when the pilot dropped it on Mityushikha Bay.

It’s said that the nuclear explosion was so powerful that the impact was visible from an incredible 997km (620 miles) away.

A mushroom cloud stretched a stunning 67km (42 miles) into the air and reportedly destroyed buildings within 55km (35 miles) of the detonation zone.

Anna Paulina Luna vows to force vote on Garland’s arrest if DOJ doesn’t follow through on contempt

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna wants to force a second vote on whether the House should arrest Attorney General Merrick Garland. (Getty Images)

Luna told Fox News Digital on Tuesday evening that she would plan to force a vote on her “inherent contempt” resolution against Garland after the full House of Representatives weighs the Biden official’s fate with a separate measure.

“As of right now, we fully intend to bring it,” Luna revealed. “I don’t really have much faith in the Department of Justice. And I don’t think the American people do either. But we are trying to bring back a level playing field and show that, you know, there should be accountability all the way up to the top.”

Inherent contempt differs from the contempt resolution expected to come up for a vote Wednesday afternoon. Whereas the latter would refer Garland to his own department for criminal charges, inherent contempt, if passed, would direct the House sergeant at arms to arrest Garland himself.

Luna said she would be circulating a letter among her colleagues on Wednesday explaining inherent contempt and the need for it.

“Inherent contempt of Congress hasn’t been done since early 1900s. And before that, it was a pretty common practice,” Luna said.

“I think that when you explain to people what inherent contempt of Congress is and when they see that subpoenas are being ignored, and that there seems to be a two-tiered justice system – which we’re seeing nationally, every single person…is realizing that – I think that they will understand.”

German researchers decode earliest known written record of Jesus’ childhood

The papyrus manuscript dates back more than 1,600 years old to the 4th or 5th century. The document had been stored at a library in Hamburg, Germany, as no one believed the document was of any significance.

“The fragment is of extraordinary interest for research,” Lajos Berkes, a professor and one of the researchers who decoded the document said in a press release. “On the one hand, because we were able to date it to the 4th to 5th century, making it the earliest known copy. On the other hand, because we were able to gain new insights into the transmission of the text.”

“It was thought to be part of an everyday document, such as a private letter or a shopping list, because the handwriting seems so clumsy,” he continued. “We first noticed the word Jesus in the text. Then, by comparing it with numerous other digitized papyri, we deciphered it letter by letter and quickly realized that it could not be an everyday document.”

Berkes said the document is a fragment of the Gospel of Thomas, an apocryphal book that was not included in the Bible. The gospel offers details about Jesus’ life as a child before his ministry.

“Jesus plays at the ford of a rushing stream and molds twelve sparrows from the soft clay he finds in the mud. When his father Joseph rebukes him and asks why he is doing such things on the holy Sabbath, the five-year-old Jesus claps his hands and brings the clay figures to life,” the press release stated.
