Texas National Guard ‘Border Force’ Blocking Illegal Crossings

Texas National Guard troops deployed to El Paso have constructed a razor-wire barrier along the Rio Grande and have been blocking people from making unauthorized crossings into the United States amid a migrant surge and legal back-and-forth about ending Title 42, a Trump-era rule that helped stem the tide of illegal immigration.
Acting under orders from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, several hundred soldiers that are part of a “contingency border force” have set up along the river channel separating El Paso from Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, with the aim of preventing people from crossing the border illegally.
“This morning, service members deployed to El Paso, Texas constructed a triple-strand concertina barrier near the border to secure the area from illegal crossings,” the Texas Military Department, which oversees the state’s National Guard, said in a Dec. 20 statement.
FTX Founder Sam Bankman-Fried Officially Agrees to Be Extradited to US

FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried on Wednesday agreed to be extradited to the United States on fraud charges, according to an affidavit his lawyer read aloud during a court hearing in the Bahamas, where he has been since being charged by federal prosecutors.
During the court hearing Wednesday, Bankman-Fried stepped up to the witness box in court and agreed to being sent back to the United States.
“Yes, I do wish to waive my right to such formal extradition proceedings,” he told the judge, reported the Reuters news agency. His defense lawyer told the judge that his client was “anxious to leave.” Video footage also showed Bankman-Fried, known as SBF, signing extradition papers to be sent back to the United States.
Officer Gets Nearly 12 Years for Killing Atatiana Jefferson

A former Texas police officer who fatally shot Atatiana Jefferson through a rear window of her home in 2019 was sentenced Tuesday to nearly 12 years in prison for his manslaughter conviction.
Aaron Dean, 38, had faced up to 20 years in prison, but jurors also had the option of sentencing him to probation. The same jury that convicted him of manslaughter Thursday also determined the sentence—11 years, 10 months, and 12 days.
The Fort Worth officer shot the 28-year-old woman while responding to a call about an open front door. His guilty verdict was a rare conviction of an officer for killing someone who was also armed with a gun.
North Carolina attorney shot dead by client at law firm

A North Carolina personal injury attorney was shot and killed Monday while reportedly trying to disarm a client accused of opening fire inside a law firm’s offices during mediation before turning the gun on himself.
Police identified the men Tuesday as Francisco Cazarin Sanchez, 46, of Greenville, and attorney Patrick Thomas White, 42, of Raleigh. Sanchez fatally shot White inside the law office, then shot himself, police said.
An unnamed source within the firm told ABC News that Sanchez and his wife had been in mediation at the law firm for six hours that day and that it was going well.
The firm was close to finalizing a settlement that would have the couple pocketing a seven-figure sum related to an automobile accident.
Philadelphia man on death row for 25 years, cleared of 6 murders, shot and killed attending funeral: reports

Christopher Williams, 62, came home from prison in February 2021 after serving nearly three decades. He was exonerated on four murders and freed.
He was previously acquitted in two other murders on cases all derived from the same jailhouse informant, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
A father of six children, Williams was shot once in the head after stepping out of his car at Mount Peace Cemetery, near the 3000 block of Lehigh Avenue in north Philadelphia three minutes before 2:30 p.m. Friday.
He had been driving in the funeral procession for Tyree Little, another previously incarcerated man, the newspaper reported.
Winter storm prep: National Weather Service says ‘once-in-a-generation’ storm approaching Buffalo region

The National Weather Service is describing the winter storm bearing down on Buffalo and western New York ahead of Christmas as a “once-in-a-generation” event.
The declaration comes as much of the Great Lakes region is under winter storm watches and warnings during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
“This once-in-a-generation storm will produce high winds east of Lake Ontario Thursday night into Friday morning, then over a larger coverage of our region Friday into Saturday,” the NWS’ Buffalo office said Wednesday.
“Winds could gust over 65 mph, leading to at least scattered power outages, if not widespread outages,” it added.

THIS lawyer proves the FBI is FAR TOO FRIENDLY with Big Tech
Thanks to Elon Musk releasing the ‘Twitter Files,’ conservatives now know that everything we thought was once happening inside Twitter actually WAS happening…despite what the mainstream media once claimed.
But this story actually gets even WORSE. In this clip, Glenn introduces you to James Baker. He’s a former FBI lawyer — and now a former Twitter lawyer — who demonstrates just how ASTOUNDING the revolving door between the FBI and Big Tech truly is…
FBI agent DENIES warning Twitter about Hunter Biden hack-and-leak op

He testified as part of a lawsuit against the Biden administration, accusing the now president of organizing meetings in San Francisco for as many as seven DC-based FBI agents in the months leading up to the 2020 presidential election
Under questioning by Solicitor General John Sauer late last month, Chan said he ‘would interpret’ what Roth said in his sworn testimony ‘differently.’
He insisted he had never discussed Hunter Biden’s laptop as being subject to a ‘hack-and-leak operation’ at weekly meetings with content moderation officials at Facebook, Google, Twitter, Yahoo!, Reddit and even LinkedIn.
Chan also revealed in his testimony that the FBI now plans to hold more meetings with Big Tech officials ahead of the 2024 presidential election — and this time will include representatives from Apple and the Wikimedia Foundation.
Chan also spoke of his close relations with the so-called ‘FBI lovers’ who had tried to discredit then-President Trump with claims that his administration had close ties to the Kremlin.
DOJ is prepping charges against ex-ABC News reporter

Meek, a celebrated investigative reporter, resigned from the network via email just hours after heavily-armed agents swooped on his penthouse apartment in Arlington, Virginia in April.
Rolling Stone reported that an indictment is being prepared in connection to the pre-dawn raid and that nearly a dozen electronic devices were taken from Meek’s home.
Meek was last seen in late October, when DailyMail.com finally spotted him at his elderly mom’s townhouse in McLean, Virginia, 15 minutes outside Washington, D.C..
‘Independent observers believe the raid is among the first – and quite possibly, the first – to be carried out on a journalist by the Biden administration,’ read a bombshell report in Rolling Stone.
The Department of Justice has not disclosed its reason for targeting Meek but – in an unusual step – Dena Iverson, principal deputy director in the DOJ’s Office of Public Affairs, released a statement insisting that agents had acted lawfully.
‘James Gordon Meek is a towering 6’7″, gregarious punk rock art student-turned investigative reporter,’ read a promotional profile which has since been scrubbed from the internet.
‘James is known for news scoops such as the killing of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and the hostage rescue of an American in Nigeria, as well as his deep dive investigations of friendly fire incidents, military cover-ups and cases of Americans held hostage by terrorist groups and rogue regimes.’
Eugene Gorokhov, Meek’s attorney, did not respond to a request for comment.
In earlier remarks, reported by Rolling Stone, he said: ‘Mr Meek is unaware of what allegations anonymous sources are making about his possession of classified documents.
‘If such documents exist, as claimed, this would be within the scope of Mr. Meek’s long career as an investigative journalist covering government wrongdoing.
‘Press inquiries on this issue are troubling for a different reason: they appear to be based on statements from a source inside the government.
‘It is highly inappropriate, and illegal, for individuals in the government to leak information about an ongoing investigation.’

A ‘Cover-Up of Evidence of Mass Murder’: The CDC Appears to Be Removing VAERS Records

Something strange is going on with the VAERS system. Reports that were present three months ago are now inexplicably missing.
And fewer than 4% of adverse events recorded in V-Safe have made their way to VAERS.
This is the CDC’s database; Rochelle Walensky is in charge of it. And their failure to properly manage VAERS is suppressing the already-alarming safety signal of the Covid-19 shots.
Dr. Henry Ealy is the Founder & Executive Community Director for the Energetic Health Institute. He holds a Doctorate in naturopathic medicine and has been at the tip of the spear on the Grand Jury front — taking action to bring forth a Grand Jury investigation of the CDC for allegations of criminal data fraud and willful misconduct.
Dr. Ealy continues, “In V-safe, there have been over 800,000 reports of injury. And the deal was that in V-Safe, every single report of injury was supposed to also then subsequently have a VAERS report associated with it.
So that means all 800,000 should be in VAERS. But unfortunately, or by design — however you want to look at it — only just over 30,000 of those 800,000 have been recorded in VAERS. So what that means is that fewer than 4% of the records in V-Safe have actually been reported in VAERS as they were supposed to be done.”

Kentucky senator: Transgender son has died by suicide

A Kentucky state senator said Tuesday that her transgender son, a trans rights advocate on whom “a lack of acceptance took a toll,” has died by suicide. He was 24.
Democratic Sen. Karen Berg said her son Henry Berg-Brousseau “long struggled with mental illness, not because he was trans but born from his difficulty finding acceptance.” She said he died on Friday.
The Louisville lawmaker said her son had just received a big promotion working for the Human Rights Campaign, which advocates for LGBTQ rights. He had finally found a community, she said, “but that could not undo the brokenness that he already felt.”
‘Twitter Files’ author calls for investigations into FBI-Big Tech collusion: ‘Chilling episode’ of US history

On “The Brian Kilmeade Show” Tuesday, the author detailed his research into the “Twitter Files” and called for accountability from Washington.
“It’s a chilling episode in American history, and I really hope that Congress gets a grip on it and that there’s some special investigations because this has got to absolutely be rooted out,” Shellenberger said.
The lengthy Twitter thread reveals what Shellenberger calls an “influence campaign” by the FBI that eventually “worked” when Twitter censored Hunter Biden’s scandalous laptop.
“What I quickly put together is a pattern where it appears that FBI agents, along with former FBI agents within the company, were engaged in a disinformation campaign aimed at top Twitter and Facebook executives, as well as at top news organization executives to basically prepare them, prime them, get them set up to dismiss Hunter Biden information when it would be released,” Shellenberger told host Brian Kilmeade.

Omnibus bill earmarks $750K for trans group that wants to inject LGBTQ ‘discourse’ in elementary schools

The massive $1.7 trillion omnibus bill that was made public by federal lawmakers Tuesday includes a $750,000 earmark for a Los Angeles-based transgender Latina group that wants to “dismantle” the U.S. criminal justice system and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and inject “transgender history and discourse” into elementary schools, among other progressive initiatives.
The bill, under “disclosure of earmarks and congressionally directed spending items,” directs $750,000 to the TransLatin@ (pronounced trans Latina) Coalition, which has local chapters in nearly a dozen states, for “workforce development programs and supportive services.”
The earmark was requested by Rep. Jimmy Gomez, D-Calif., who sits on the Congressional LGBTQ+ Equality Caucus.
According to the TransLatin@ Coalition’s “#TransPolicyAgenda,” posted on its website, the group wants to end all construction of detention centers, shut down existing jails and prisons, and decriminalize what it describes as “survival crimes,” like loitering, sleeping outside, panhandling and sex work.
Kevin McCarthy breaks with McConnell, will oppose $1.7T omnibus bill

McCarthy’s break with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell will reportedly come at a GOP lunch meeting Wednesday, just a day after Senate leadership agreed to the omnibus, according to Punchbowl News.
Congress is expected to give a final vote on the package later on Wednesday.
House Republicans like Rep. Dan Bishop, R-N.C., have taken issue with specific aspects of the bill aside from its huge price tag.
Bishop pointed to what he called a “sinister” portion of the bill that allots nearly $600 million to encourage “family planning” in places where human population growth threatens animal biodiversity.
Republican in-fighting over the spending bill comes as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenksyy visits Washington for the first time since Russia’s invasion began. The $1.7 trillion package also includes $45 billion in military funding for the war-torn country.
While McCarthy has called for more scrutiny on funding to Ukraine and an end to “blank checks,” McConnell says he is all-in on continuing to fund Ukraine’s defense.
Wind and Solar Predators – Hiding in Plain Sight
When Premier Jason Kenney was elected, one of the first things he did was to cancel the Alberta government’s 30% renewable program of the Notley NDP government.
However, a recent article in the Narwhal shows that wind and solar developers continue to capitalize on other forms of subsidies at the federal level.
Alberta is a breadbasket to the world – but our rich agriculture land is at risk by predatory developers from countries like Germany and Russia cashing in on subsidies, various tax credits through intricate corporate structures, and offering farmers multi-million dollar decades long contracts to put wind and solar farms on their land.

Review finds Liberal Party ‘not fit for purpose’
An official review of the federal election has found the Liberal Party is no longer “fit for purpose”.
Findings show party membership levels hit a crisis point during the election on May 21, resulting in Liberals being unable to defend seats against teal independents.
It reinforces data that the unpopularity of former prime minister Scott Morrison was a factor in the election loss.

Biden Admin to Drop Half a Million on Artificial Intelligence That Detects Microaggressions on Social Media

The award, funded through President Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, was granted to researchers at the University of Washington in March to develop technologies that could be used to protect online users from discriminatory language.
The researchers have already received $132,000 and expect total government funding to reach $550,436 over the next five years.
The researchers are developing machine-learning models that can analyze social media posts to detect implicit bias and microaggressions, commonly defined as slights that cause offense to members of marginalized groups.
It’s a broad category, but past research conducted by the lead researcher on the University of Washington project suggests something as tame as praising meritocracy could be considered a microaggression.
Rep. Bishop reveals ‘sinister’ feature in omnibus bill on family planning, threats to biodiversity

Bishop documented many of the examples from his Twitter account, including over half a billion dollars into “reproductive health” in places that could threaten endangered species.
“On a more sinister note, here’s at least $575 million for ‘family planning’ in areas where population growth ‘threatens biodiversity.’ Malthusianism is a disturbing, anti-human ideology that should have ZERO place in any federal program,” Bishop tweeted.
Several Twitter users attacked this idea of not only promoting abortions but appearing to support reducing population growth.
“Spending taxpayer money to save nature by aborting babies. Nightmarish,” Daily Caller news editor Grayson Quay tweeted.

Mitch McConnell claims providing assistance to Ukraine is #1 priority for ‘most Republicans’

As he discussed Congressional spending, he said “Making sure that the Defense Department can deal with major threats coming from Russia and China, providing assistance for Ukrainians to defeat the Russians— that’s the number one priority of the United States Right now, according to most Republicans.”
“That’s sort of how we see the challenges confronting the country at the moment,” McConnell said.
He left out Biden’s border crisis, the skyrocketing national debt, increasing interest rates, economic instability, woke ideology, and so many other issues that many in the GOP are far more concerned with than whether or not Ukraine is successful in defeating Russia.

China bolsters health system as COVID surge | Radio Free Asia (RFA)
This stadium in Beijing has been turned into a makeshift fever clinic as authorities in China reported five more deaths.
It is one of hundreds of similar centers that are being added to major cities. Efforts to expand intensive care units and build these clinics are ramping up across the country, in a desperate bid to prevent the wider spread of contagious disease in hospitals –
Mounting signs the virus is battering China’s fragile health system. China this month began dismantling its stringent “zero-COVID” regime of lockdowns and testing after protests against curbs.
Now, as the virus sweeps through a country of 1.4 billion people who lack natural immunity, having been shielded for so long, there is growing concern about possible deaths, virus mutations, and the impact on the economy and trade.
Toronto: Eight teenage girls charged with killing man

The girls, aged between 13 and 16, are accused of stabbing the victim in what police describe as “a swarming” just after midnight local time on Sunday.
The man, who has not been identified, had been living in a shelter for the homeless at the time of the attack.
The girls, whose identities are protected under Canadian law, were arrested near the scene of the attack and a number of weapons were seized.
They had met via social media and three of them had had previous contact with police, Detective Sergeant Terry Browne said.
A resident of a nearby homeless shelter told CBC Toronto the victim was stabbed in the stomach after trying to protect her when the girls approached her for alcohol.
China can still use big data to control citizens despite ditching COVID-19 app

The Chinese government still has access to vast amounts of data on its citizens’ movements, despite pausing a hugely unpopular COVID-19 tracker app in the wake of nationwide protests, analysts told Radio Free Asia in recent interviews.
But the app, which tracked the movements of the whole population, together with the immune status of COVID-19 cases and contacts, has already reaped unprecedented amounts of data on the country’s population, including residents of Hong Kong and Macau.
With its algorithms shrouded in secrecy, little is known about how that data is gathered or the purposes it could be used for in future.
