Meta worker caught in amateur pedophile sting video
Jeren Miles, manager of community development at Meta, was filmed by a group of anti-pedophile activists discussing alleged sexually explicit texts with a person who said they were a 13-year-old boy. Miles allegedly planned to meet the boy at a hotel, according to the video.
Miles identifies himself as “manager of community development” at Meta in the video when confronted by members of “Predator Catchers Indianapolis,” who were performing an amateur anti-pedophile sting operation.
Miles admitted to the group that he sent sexually explicit messages to a person he believed to be a 13-year-old boy.
Students Strip Searched for Vaping Devices
Six teenage girls say they were forced to strip so school administrators could check them for vaping devices. Families of the teenagers—students at Suring High School in Wisconsin—have now retained a civil rights lawyer, after the local district attorney declined to bring criminal charges against Suring High officials.
In Wisconsin, it’s illegal for any official, employee, or agent of a school district to conduct a strip search of a student. School policy also specifies that this should not be done.
But District Attorney Edward D. Burke, Jr. said Tuesday he would not press charges against Superintendent Kelly Casper and the school nurse (both women) who made the girls disrobe, because Wisconsin law defines a strip search as requiring the exposure of genitals, pubic areas, breasts, or butts.
Report: Drunk Democrat Ruins Tween Slumber Party, Denies Everything
A Valentine’s Day slumber party for tween girls ended in tears last week after a former journalist turned Democratic candidate for Congress showed up, got drunk, and verbally abused the children before vomiting in a laundry basket.
NonDoc reports that Abby Broyles, who is running to represent Oklahoma’s Fifth Congressional District, was invited to the Feb. 11 sleepover by the host, whose daughter was among the eight girls in attendance. Broyles was reportedly drinking wine and was initially pleasant before she suddenly lashed out at the children for no apparent reason:
According to multiple accounts of the evening, Broyles became intoxicated and spoke derogatorily to some of the girls. She allegedly called one girl an “acne fucker,” which prompted the girl to leave the room in tears. Broyles allegedly called another girl a “Hispanic fucker” and another a “judgy fucker.”
At one point, Broyles allegedly vomited into a laundry basket and onto one girl’s shoes.
Sarah Matthews, a mother of one of the girls who attended the party, tagged Broyles’s campaign account in a Twitter thread posted on Wednesday.

In a lengthy essay for Fox News, Monteleone, who has competed in various world championships and is also a track coach, said that if biological males continue to compete on women’s sports teams, it will mean the end of women’s sports as we know it.
“I had watched proudly as my strong and determined girl did all the right things – made personal, difficult sacrifices to train her body to be as fast and fit as possible for her first race,” she wrote.
“Yet all her hard work seemed to drift away along with the male-bodied athlete, who had just transferred from the boys’ volleyball team to the girl’s team the season before. The athlete breezed right by her to win first place, leaving her to finish second.”
Monteleone added, “How can you win as a female when you’re lined up next to a male body whose strength, heart and lung capacity, and pace are all greater than your own no matter what the ‘treatment’?”

Kim Potter gets 2 years in Daunte Wright death
Former Brooklyn Center police officer Kim Potter was sentenced to two years in prison Friday, a significant downward departure from the presumptive sentence.
“Her conduct cries out for a sentence significantly below the guidelines,” said Hennepin County Judge Regina Chu.
Potter was found guilty of first-degree and second-degree manslaughter in December for fatally shooting Daunte Wright during an April 11 traffic stop. She accidentally grabbed her gun instead of her Taser.
“This is just profound. This too is unheard of,” one of Potter’s attorneys, Paul Engh, said in court Friday, holding up a thick stack of letters in support of Potter.
Tennessee theft suspects ‘pray’ with elderly woman in church as they steal her wallet: police
Video footage of the incident shows the female suspects approaching the 78-year-old victim sitting in a pew and engaging her in conversation.
One suspect “requested the victim pray with her,” public information officer Scott Beaubien wrote in the video’s description.
“While they were praying, the second female rummaged through the victim’s purse and stole her wallet,” Beaubien said. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact 931.552.1011.
California bill would allow citizens to enforce weapons ban
Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday backed legislation that would let private citizens enforce the state’s ban on assault weapons. It’s modeled after a Texas law that lets private citizens enforce that state’s ban on abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detected.
Newsom said he hopes the proposal forces the U.S. Supreme Court’s hand on the Texas abortion law. He said it will either expose their “hypocrisy” if they should block California’s proposal that affects the gun industry and not the Texas law on abortion.
The Firearms Policy Coalition, an advocacy group, pledged a court challenge should the California bill become law.
“California already has the strictest gun laws in the nation, so it’s not clear what Governor Newsom is hoping to accomplish here besides a sad publicity stunt,” Gallagher said in a statement.
Meta Faces New Whistleblower Complaints Over Climate Change, COVID Misinformation
The two new complaints were filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission this month by Whistleblower Aid, a nonprofit group representing former Facebook product manager turned whistleblower Frances Haugen.
The complaints allege that Facebook made “material misrepresentations” and omitted information in statements to investors about its efforts to stem misinformation on its platforms, according to The Washington Post, which cited redacted copies of the documents.
“The documents shared with the SEC make it totally clear that Facebook was saying one thing in private and another in public regarding its approach to climate change and COVID-19 misinformation,” said Andrew Bakaj, senior counsel at Whistleblower Aid, in an emailed statement.

Justin allegedly went from being a fan to being a stalker, eventually asking “one of Ava’s male classmates whether he had access to a ‘strap,’ or gun, shared plans to assault her, and wrote, ‘I could just breach the door with a shotgun i think.’”

“One day I dreamed it, I worked on it and today it is a dream come true. I can finally tell you my big secret… I am the first Victoria’s Secret model with Down syndrome,” Jirau wrote, in Spanish.

Texas grand jury indicts 19 police officers over protests in Austin
Word of the indictments came hours after Austin city leaders approved paying $10 million to two people injured by police in the protests, including a college student who suffered brain damage after an officer shot him with a beanbag round.
Combined, the charges and settlements amounted to conservative Texas’ liberal capital of 960,000 people taking some of its biggest actions as criticism still simmers over its handling of the protests, which intensified pressure on then-Police Chief Brian Manley to eventually step down.
Cassidy, the president of the Austin Police Association, called the move “devastating” for law enforcement in the city, but also said he’s confident that no officer will be convicted.
He criticized Garza, calling the investigation politically motivated.

Clinton’s group Onward Together is hawking coffee mugs, face masks, and other merchandise emblazoned with the phrase “But her emails,” a joking reference to the scandal involving her use of a private email server when she was secretary of state.

Ukraine crisis: Satellite images show Russian push toward border

“Over the past few days, there was again an influx of videos which showed new equipment arriving to the border with Ukraine, or near the border,” despite Moscow’s claims of a pullback, said Rochan President Konrad Muzyka.
Russia unveils nuclear drills as Putin blames Kyiv for ‘escalation’

Speaker cancels Emergencies Act debate on Friday due to ‘police operation’
OTTAWA – The House of Commons will not be sitting on Friday and parliamentarians are exhorted to avoid downtown Ottawa due to a police operation to remove Freedom Convoy protestors throughout the day.
“A police operation is expected to take place on Wellington Street and other locations in the downtown core of Ottawa,” Speaker Anthony Rota warned in an email to parliamentarians Friday morning.
Hours later, Ottawa police said officers have begun arresting more anti-vaccine mandate protesters in the city core and advising others to exit the parliamentary precinct.
