US News:

Cops quit woke Austin in droves, plunging Texas city into crisis: ‘If you’re conservative, it’s a hostile place’

Texas’ woke capital, Austin, is in the midst of a policing crisis with over 300 vacancies and cops quitting because they feel disrespected, multiple sources tell The Post.

“We’re right there with Portland and Seattle and San Francisco as being one of those places where if you’re at all conservative or in law enforcement, it’s become a hostile place,” Lt. Brian Moon, who retired last month, told The Post of the city he protected for 23 years.

Another 77 officers are expected to retire before the end of March — on top of 264 existing vacancies, according to the Austin Police Association.

Austin Police Department’s staffing is so bad, 911 calls are being redirected to the 311 non-emergency number because there aren’t enough cops to solve crimes.

In 2020, the city council voted to defund cops by $150 million, slashing their budget by a third in the months after protests over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis at the hands of the police, which sparked protests and clashes with the cops in Austin.

Elected officials also nixed three cadet classes and cut 150 officers from the budget.

2 Native Hawaiian Men Sentenced In Hate Crime Against White Neighbor

In this photo provided by Kapu’uwaikahiau Schildmeyer, Levi Aki Jr. stands at Maui Sunset Beach Park in Kihei, Maui, Hawaii, on April 15, 2022. Aki was sentenced to more than four years in prison for his role in a hate crime involving the beating of a white man on Maui in 2014. (Kapu’uwaikahiau Schildmeyer via AP)

Local lawyers believe this is the first time the U.S. has prosecuted Native Hawaiians for hate crimes.

The unique case highlights the struggles between Native Hawaiians who are adamant about not having their culture erased and people who move to Hawaii without knowing or considering its history and racial dynamics.

Alluding to the uniqueness of the case, U.S. District Judge J. Michael Seabright said the attack is different from other hate crimes, such as going to an African American church and shooting or targeting a nightclub full of people from a certain ethnic group or sexual orientation.

Fears over measles super-spreader event at Kentucky religious event

No other attendees to The Asbury Revival have since tested positive for measles, officials told DailyMail.com

Around 20,000 people may have been exposed to the extremely infectious disease at the 10-day worship event in the city of Wilmore.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state health chiefs revealed that an unvaccinated attendee tested positive for measles days after the event last month and was likely infectious at the time of the festival.

They are now warning all unvaccinated attendees or anyone who develops symptoms to quarantine for up to 21 days and contact their doctor.

‘Large numbers of people that attended the gathering from across Kentucky and from other states and countries may have been exposed,’ the CDC told DailyMail.com.

‘The Kentucky Department for Public Health is actively working with CDC and clinicians to help identify if there are additional cases.

This outbreak could be tied to COVID-19 lockdowns and other pandemic measures that disrupted medical treatment for the past two years.

Floridians told not to let tap water on face amid amoeba fears

Officials believe the unnamed Charlotte County man died after rinsing his sinuses using tap water contaminated with the microscopic pathogen.

Dr Mobeen Rathore, an infectious disease expert from the University of Florida, told DailyMail.com residents in the county should avoid exposing their nose to tap water – including while showering – until ‘officials give the all clear’.

‘Unless it’s cleared [by local health authorities] you should avoid any water going into the nose — at least for now. ‘In the shower, avoid getting anything into the nose.’

His comments were echoed by Dr Anjan Debnath, a pararsite expert at the University of California, San Diego.

Local officials advise residents to boil water for at least one minute before using it to wash their noses to kill any lingering bacteria or harmful chemicals.

Childhood Obesity: What You’re Not Hearing In The News

Critics from across the spectrum have noted the potential long-term consequences of putting children on drugs and performing irreversible surgery on teenagers.

“Lifestyle choices” typically mean more exercise—along with less processed food and more fruits and vegetables in the diet—but no one in the mainstream is suggesting that the solution is to allow children to eat more natural saturated fat.

The first ingredient is nonfat milk—not even 1 percent milk—and the second ingredient is sugar—approximately 14 grams of added sugar in a serving of 8.5 ounces, or about 1 tablespoon.

Thus, the science indicates that giving kids nonfat milk, especially combined with sugar, is a recipe for making kids fat and setting them up for diabetes later in life. But there’s more—listed in the minor ingredients is “artificial flavor,” a term often used for hidden MSG.

The food industry and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration insist that there is nothing wrong with MSG (monosodium glutamate), however, if you search “MSG-induced obesity” in PubMed, you will come up with almost one hundred citations.

So, our school children get low-fat sugar bombs with a pinch of obesity-inducing MSG for lunch day after day.

Is it any wonder that obesity is increasing? “Lifestyle” changes such as eating fruits and vegetables or getting more exercise are no match for this stealth health snatcher.

The boost takes the total in taxpayer dollars the Pentagon has released to $32 billion with no end in sight as it continues to draw down existing weapons stocks.

U.S. officials told AP news service eight M60A1 vehicles that can launch bridges and allow troops to cross rivers or other gaps will form the bulk of the latest delivery.

Large amounts of ammunition, such as rockets for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, will also be sent on their way.

The aid will also include an undisclosed amount of rounds for howitzers, other ammunition, demolition munitions and other equipment to clear obstacles, spare parts and equipment for vehicle maintenance and repair.

The total amount in U.S. aid to Ukraine has long eclipsed the annual military budget of every country in the world except the United States and China.

Migrant Smugglers Drive Chevy Suburban Through Arizona Border Wall

CBP

According to a source within CBP, smugglers likely cut the breach using an acetylene torch. Pipe hinges were fashioned, indicating the smugglers may have intended to use the area for future endeavors.

The source told Breitbart Texas a ground radar system detected movement at the time.

A Chevrolet Suburban and two pick-up trucks were located and stopped by responding agents.

Each vehicle was severely overloaded to accommodate the more than 50 migrants. The source says the area east of Douglas is commonly used by migrant smugglers.

EXCLUSIVE: Known Migrant Got-Aways Rise to Nearly 51K in February

File Photo by John Moore/Getty Images

Despite a decrease in the number of migrant apprehensions along the southwest U.S. border with Mexico, the estimated number of got-aways jumped by more than six percent to nearly 51,000 in February.

This number is also slightly higher than the 50,820 in February 2022.

Migrant got-aways are a conservative estimate of the number of migrants who are seen crossing the border but cannot be apprehended at the time, migrants that are part of a group that is partially apprehended, or by estimating numbers based upon tracks found in smuggling areas.

The estimated number of known got-aways during the first five months of Fiscal Year 23, which began on October 1, 2022, hit nearly 310,000, the report reviewed by Breitbart News reveals.

This is up by approximately 29 percent over the same period in FY22 when officials estimated there were 240,897 known got-aways.

Biden’s DHS Funnels $350M to Illegal Aliens Released into U.S. Communities

This week, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced that the agency would be spending some $350 million on the Emergency Food and Shelter Program, specifically to fund support services for border crossers and illegal aliens arriving in various U.S. towns and cities.

Already, DHS has spent $75 million “to fund costs incurred by localities and non-governmental organizations” through the program.

The taxpayer funds were authorized by Congress and the figure is set to rise to $800 million in social support services for newly released border crossers and illegal aliens.

Biden’s expansive Catch and Release network through the southern border has made the funding sources through this program possible as American communities struggle to absorb a constant stream of tens of thousands of border crossers and illegal aliens released into the U.S. interior every month.

New York-Based Chinese Gang Stole Identities of 3,000 Asian Texans for Illegal Aliens

Officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) revealed the massive identity breach late last month in testimony before the state’s House Appropriations Committee.

The goal of the Chinese gang was to find Asian Americans in Texas with driver’s licenses whose identities they could steal and match to Chinese illegal aliens living in the United States, DPS officials detailed.

Identity theft at the hands of millions of illegal aliens in the U.S. is very common.

A bombshell investigation by the Immigration Reform Law Institute revealed that there had been potentially 39 million cases where Americans had their identities stolen by illegal aliens from 2012 to 2016.

The caravan departed from Tapachula and headed north to Arriaga, Chiapas.

Videos tweeted from Chiapas show the large group of migrants making their way through the city as the caravan kicked off on February 28.

EXCLUSIVE: 128K Migrants Caught in February at Southwest Border — Up 31% Over Feb 2021

U.S. Border Patrol/Tucson Sector

The more than 128,000 migrants apprehended in February would have set a record for February apprehensions had it not been for last year’s record-setting 159,170 apprehensions, according to reports issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

In contrast, agents apprehended only 30,077 migrants in February 2020 — President Donald Trump’s last full year in office.

Other sectors away from the southwest border are experiencing significant increases in migrant apprehensions. While the numbers are small in comparison to the southwest border, the percentages of increases indicate a trend where human smugglers are developing new tactics to move migrants into the United States.

In the Swanton Sector, which covers the Canadian border in parts of northern New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire, agents apprehended just over 400 migrants. This is up by nearly 945 percent over the 40 migrants apprehended in January.

Donald Trump Jr. Wins: PNC Bank Reverses Course, Blames Cutting Ties with MxM News on a ‘Good-Faith Error’

PNC Bank made headlines Thursday afternoon after Trump Jr. revealed that the “woke” company shut down the bank account for the app he co-founded with Trump spokesman Taylor Budowich — MxM News —  “without any explanation”:

Budowich told Fox News Digital that he discovered the bank had severed ties without his knowledge when he visited a PNC branch in the Sunshine State.

“Account closures can occur for a variety of reasons but are never influenced by the political views or affiliations of our customers,” a March 3 statement from PNC reads.

“We’ve looked closely into the circumstances surrounding the closure of the ROCDIGITAL, LLC account and determined it was mistakenly closed due to a good-faith error,” the company claimed.

“We have reopened the account and we apologize for any inconvenience,” it added, replying to Trump Jr. on Twitter:

Ex-FBI analyst had ‘unauthorized communications’ with media, took illegal gifts: Government watchdog

The FBI has continued to come under fire in recent years for its alleged politicization and misconduct, culminating in Republicans launching a subcommittee on the weaponization of the federal government.

One ex-FBI analyst, who resigned in 2019 after the agency suspended their security clearance, had close ties with the media and disclosed sensitive but unclassified information to a reporter while also taking food and drink gifts from media against ethics rules, said the Justice Department’s inspector general in a Thursday report.

The inspector general has referred the matters to the FBI, and the DOJ is now tasked with determining appropriate consequences with regard to the alleged misconduct.

The report comes as GOP House members ramp up their investigations of the FBI through the weaponization subcommittee — which has heard from whistleblowers and ex-bureau agents who have detailed purported widespread government wrongdoing.

Report: Whistleblower Says FBI Used Threat Tag Created After Dobbs Ruling to Focus on Pro-Lifers

Celal Gunes/Anadolu Agency via Getty Images

FBI Special Agent Garret O’Boyle, who worked from the Wichita Resident Agency in the Kansas City Field, said the threat tag, “THREATSTOSCOTUS2022.” which was made after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last summer, was “legitimate” because “threatening a Supreme Court official is a violation of a federal crime,” according to portions of a transcripts of O’Boyle’s Feb. 10 interview with the panel, obtained first by Fox News.

O’Boyle said the threat tag soon “shifted and began focusing in on pro-life adherence,” according to the report.

“When this threat tag came out, it was like, why are you focusing on pro-life people?” O’Boyle’s transcript allegedly reads. “It’s pro-choice people who are the ones protesting or otherwise threatening violence in front of Supreme Court justices’ houses.”

Scientific report shows that East Palestine air has “higher than normal” concentrations of NINE toxic chemicals

Using their own mobile testing unit, the scientists have been collecting air samples near the site of the Norfolk Southern train crash. Meanwhile, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) continues to reassure the public that East Palestine is safe.

While the nine detected chemicals are not necessarily an “immediate health concern,” the experts warn that repeated and continued exposure to them over a prolonged period of time could damage people’s health.

What we know now is that in additional to vinyl chloride, the other chemicals on the derailed train that underwent a “controlled explosion” include butyl acrylate, benzene residue, glycol monobutyl ether, ethylhexyl acrylate, and isobutylene. The toxic byproducts of these chemicals when burned are numerous.

The mobile testing van that is collecting air samples has traveled all around the region, including in Pittsburgh and even Baltimore. The experts then compared these samples to those collected in and around East Palestine to compare and contrast.

Undercover agents bought fake nursing degrees with no medical experience

New details about the fake nursing degree scheme demonstrate the ease with which aspiring nurses could purchase the fraudulent documents, Yahoo News reported Feb. 27.

Between 2016 and 2021, more than 7,600 fake diplomas were sold to aspiring nurses who used the documents to qualify for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, even if they had not completed the necessary training and educational requirements to sit for the exam.

In total, the scheme accumulated more than $100 million.

About 37 percent of those who bought fake documents passed the test, and many went on to gain licensure and secure employment at U.S. healthcare facilities.

EU to Propose New Rules, Support for Certain Green Industries, Document Shows

LONDON (Reuters) – The European Union’s executive body is set to provide permits, regulatory support and easier access to public and private funding for certain strategic green technologies, according to a draft document seen by Reuters.

The draft regulation is designed to ensure “the net-zero technology manufacturing capacity in the Union is sufficient to meet at least 40% of the Union’s annual deployment needs,” the document says.

The EU is concerned that European companies will move to the United States, which has a $369 billion scheme to subsidise green production.

The White House Is Encouraging Civil War In Somalia

[State Department Photo by Freddie Everett/ Public Domain]

The State Department’s policy in Somalia today is a disaster.

It is undercutting the only democracy in the Horn of Africa, empowering Chinese interests, and creating a safe haven for terror.

All eyes might be on Ukraine, but in terms of empowering terror, Biden, Sullivan, and Secretary of State Antony Blinken appear to be staking out a policy position second only to the abandonment of Afghanistan in terms of its empowerment of terror and its long-term damage to U.S. credibility.

The residents of Colombia’s southern Caquetá province blockaded the compound of oil company Emerald Energy, a subsidiary of China’s state-owned company Sinochem. They also took nine oil field workers as hostages along with dozens of police officers.

The protesters have demanded help to repair and build new roads in the area.

A police officer, Ricardo Monroy, and a civilian died during the blockade. President Gustavo Petro decried the killings in a statement on Twitter.

The violence erupted in part of the San Vicente del Caguan municipality, where members of rural and Indigenous communities blocked access to the oil field and set a fire. Both victims died from gunshot wounds, according to police sources.

The move will make Hungary the first member of the European Union to move its embassy to Jerusalem a move that Europe has largely resisted since President Donald Trump first moves the U.S. embassy in 2018.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who is considered a close ally of Netanyahu, is also acting to shore up judicial reforms that have been likened to some of the reforms that he has instituted in his own country.

Several major roads in Brussels were closed and police warned that disruptions could last until the end of the day, recommending that people use public transportation instead of personal cars.

The Flemish regional government is struggling to find a deal to cut nitrate pollution over farmers’ objections that it would put many out of business.

Farmers also claim that their trade has to make much deeper cuts than industry and want to see a more equitable spread.

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), a British-headquartered pharmaceutical giant, has rejected private calls from the Irish government to pay reparations for vaccine trials performed on vulnerable children.

Seven vaccine trials are said to have been undertaken by historic companies linked to the modern GSK corporation at Ireland’s Mother and Baby homes facilities, which were set up to look after unmarried women and their children throughout the 20th century.

The institutions have since been found to have not been suitable for these mothers and their children, with a government report in 2021 finding that some women did suffer emotional and sometimes physical abuse within the system
