New Jersey teen kills herself days after high school attack by bullies

New Jersey teenager has taken her own life just days after an alarming video of the 14-year-old being punched and kicked in a high school hallway circulated online.

Adriana Kuch, who was relentlessly bullied at Central Regional High School in Berkeley Township, was found dead at her home two days after the shocking video surfaced on Feb 1, police said.

The 20-second clip viewed by Patch shows several students attacking the teen, hitting her with a water bottle as she walked with her boyfriend.

Bystanders are also seen laughing at Kuch after she was punched, kicked and had her hair pulled, while she lay in the fetal position on the floor of the school hallway.

“Rep. Craig defended herself from the attacker and suffered bruising, but is otherwise physically okay.”

A police report obtained by ABC News states that the altercation began when Craig reported seeing a man acting erratically in her apartment building, as if “as if he was under the influence on an unknown substance.”

Craig said she told the suspect “good morning,” according to the police report, and she went to the elevator where the suspect followed her and started to do push-ups in the elevator.

The congresswoman told police that with “a closed fist [the suspect] punched her on the chin area of her face, and later grabbed her neck.”

Heller, 51, was found shot dead outside his car, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office. Reports say he was a senior distribution supervisor who had been with the company for 11 years, and a councilman in Milford, a small borough in Hunterdon County.

Gary Curtis, 58, was identified as the suspect in the shooting and found at 10:20 a.m. inside a car in Bridgewater, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Curtis was reportedly a former PSE&G employee who allegedly shot Heller before taking off and driving to Bridgewater, where he killed himself.

Mom, dad and their son are shot dead in suspected murder suicide

Massachusetts couple and their son are found dead in a suspected murder-suicide after police received an eerie call from inside the house with a voice in the background saying, ‘Kill me now.’

Investigators speculate Andrew Robinson, 56, shot his wife Linda Robinson, 55, and their 12-year-old son Sebastian before turning the gun on himself while inside their $2 million mansion around 3 am on Thursday.

Police arrived at the home at 48 Porter Road and were ordered to proceed with caution after a man was heard screaming and items were being smashed in the background of the 911 call, a dispatcher told officers.

It is unclear who made the call, but the dispatcher claimed there was no response from the caller, according to The Boston Globe.

Whistleblower at trans care center exposes ‘appalling’ practices inside gender-affirming hospital for kids

(Lane Turner/The Boston Globe via Getty Images)

Jamie Reed, a 42-year-old St. Louis native and self-described far-left queer woman, penned a lengthy tell-all for The Free Press in which she calls gender clinics for kids “morally and medically appalling.”

She worked at Washington University’s infectious diseases division in St. Louis for four years, helping HIV-positive teens and young adults. Her work there eventually led to a job at the transgender center of the children’s hospital.

“By the time I departed, I was certain that the way the American medical system is treating these patients is the opposite of the promise we make to ‘do no harm.

‘ Instead, we are permanently harming the vulnerable patients in our care,” she wrote.

Upon arriving at her new position, Reed said she was struck by the lack of formal protocols for treatment, with the center’s co-directors acting essentially as the sole authority.

Reed detailed the stories of several patients, including correspondence with other medical practitioners.

She noted that young patients were often not fully aware of the potential negative consequences of treatments and doctors at the clinic were quick to blame various symptoms on gender dysphoria.

Lia Thomas exposed ‘male genitalia’ in women’s locker room after meet, Riley Gaines says: Dropped ‘his pants’

In an interview on “America Reports” Wednesday, the 12-time All-American and five-time SEC champion urged the National Collegiate Athletic Association to make separate locker rooms for transgender athletes, recounting her own discomfort when she was exposed to Thomas’ “male genitalia” in a women’s locker room after a meet.

“We were not forewarned beforehand that we would be sharing a locker room with Lia. We did not give our consent, they did not ask for our consent, but in that locker room we turned around, and there’s a 6’4″ biological man dropping his pants and watching us undress, and we were exposed to male genitalia,” Gaines said.

“That to me was worse than the competition piece,” Gaines said. “Not even probably a year, two years ago, this would have been considered some form of sexual assault, voyeurism. But now not even are they just allowing it to happen, it’s almost as if these large organizations are encouraging it to happen.

Why Americans Pay Twice as Much for Healthcare Yet Get Worse Care

Concerns about the cost of healthcare are likely to increase even further once Medicaid starts terminating benefits for an estimated 15 million Americans, which is expected to begin in April.

These were people who qualified for Medicaid and/or the Children’s Health Insurance Program coverage during the pandemic emergency. Once the public health emergency ends, this coverage will be rescinded.

“Are we really going to go back to letting 68,000 people die each year simply because they’re too poor to live?” Gray asks.

President Biden campaigned on a public option for healthcare, but that promise has yet to come to fruition — possibly because he took more money from the health insurance industry than any previous president.

Former President Obama folded when it came to a public option after the industry lobbied hard to prevent it, and while so-called “Obamacare” promised to be an affordable option, health insurance prices and industry profits soared once the Affordable Care Act was enacted.

Since people were financially penalized for not having insurance, insurance companies took advantage and raised prices across the board, even though we were promised that wouldn’t happen.

Harnwell: “Only 45% of Germans would want to help *another NATO member* if it were attacked.”

All talk about ‘training pilots to fight Russia’ is pure diversion — Tenpercentskyy seriously needs to end his Top Gun fantasies.

The war will long be over by the time these pilots ever came on line. Rishi Sunak knows it. Putin knows it.

Germany — the EU’s largest economy — has moved on. Europeans just want the two sides negotiating peace now.

Harnwell: “Did the US engineer this war in order to replace Russia as Europe’s source of energy?”

Forget that the Nord Stream pipelines were bombed in Danish waters. Forget that they belonged to Russia.

A country’s energy needs is an essential part of its national security.

The US — in sabotaging the gas pipelines on which the German economy is painfully dependent — undertook an unprovoked covert act of military aggression against a NATO ally.

The 15-Minute City: A Climate Solution? Or Just an ‘Excuse for More Control’?

The “15-minute city” made headlines this month, spurred by controversy over plans by the U.K.’s Oxfordshire County Council to pilot “traffic filters” to reduce car use as part of the city of Oxford’s 2040 development strategy.

Under the filter plan, Oxfordshire will be divided into six districts. Beginning in 2024, residents will be able to drive within their neighborhoods, but license plate recognition cameras will fine private cars £70 for passing a filter without a permit. Vehicles such as bikes and public transportation will be exempt.

Residents can apply for a permit to drive through the filters up to 100 days per year, and residents living outside the zones can apply for a permit for up to 25 times per year. The filters will be in effect daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The county council said the plan is not meant to coerce residents into staying in their neighborhoods, but rather to address traffic congestion by “making walking, cycling, public and shared transport the natural first choice.”

Chinese Android Phones Awash With Spyware, New Research Reveals

(Image: Xavi Torrent/Getty Images)

New research has revealed that many of the top-of-the-line Android devices sold in China are awash with spyware, harvesting an untold amount of personal data without notification or consent that could easily lead to persistent tracking of users and easy unmasking of their identities.

The study, published by three experts hailing from the University of Edinburgh and Trinity College Dublin, found that popular Chinese phone makers like Xiaomi, OnePlus and Oppo Realme are collecting massive amounts of sensitive data via their operating systems and a variety of pre-installed applications.

The data is being siphoned to an assortment of different private companies and the researchers worry that the devices could “send a worrying amount of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) not only to the device vendor but also to service providers like Baidu and to Chinese mobile network operators.

U.S. may target Chinese entities linked to spy balloon: official

WASHINGTON (Reuters) — The United States will explore taking action against entities connected to the Chinese military that supported the flight of a Chinese spy balloon into U.S. airspace last week, a senior State Department official said on Thursday.

Washington is confident that the manufacturer of the Chinese balloon, shot down by the U.S. military last weekend off the U.S. east coast, has a “direct relationship” with the People’s Liberation Army, the department official said in a statement.

The FBI, which is leading efforts to analyze recovered remains of the balloon, told reporters in a briefing that it had obtained only limited physical evidence and did not yet have enough information to assess its capabilities.

EU summit: Italy’s Giorgia Meloni pushes for stricter migration laws

Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni arrives for an EU summit at the European Council building in Brussels on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023.   –  Copyright  Virginia Mayo / AP

During a first round of bilateral international meetings, Meloni’s approach was welcomed by both the German chancellor and Swedish prime minister.

“When it comes to migration, Europe is eventually moving in the same direction as Brothers of Italy and Meloni’s government,” Sara Kelany, a Brothers of Italy MP said.

“That involves strengthening external border controls while pushing for improved cooperation with countries of origin. Finally thanks to this government the migration issue has become a common problem in Europe. We have all realised that defending Italy’s borders is equal to defending Europe’s borders”

Italy’s main proposal is to push for an EU-wide code of conduct for rescue ships in the Mediterranean. The Italian government also wants to encourage member states to invest more money in Africa.

But the most divisive issue remains introducing mandatory relocations. A request that remains unpopular among some of Meloni’s closest European allies.

The township has a population of about 11,100.

“As the nastiness, rhetoric, and social media vitriol of national politics continues to infiltrate local governance, we collectively determined this was the best course of action to keep the focus on local issues impacting our community.”

Hanover Mayor Ace Gallagher convinced the five East Hanover Democrats to become Republicans, says Morris County GOP Chairwoman Laura Marie Ali.
