Tyree McCoy and Joseph McInnis III Baltimore Police Department

Joseph McInnis III, 21, and 22-year-old Tyree McCoy robbed a Maryland bar filled with dozens of off-duty officers there for a cop retirement party, WBAL-TV reported.

The armed crooks entered the take-out portion of Monaghan’s Pub in Woodlawn on Tuesday night and held up an employee at gunpoint before running off with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said, according to the news outlet.

“At that time, the person who had been behind the counter knew that there was a retirement party for a police officer happening, so they went into the other portion and alerted the officers to the fact that they had just been involved in an armed robbery,” Baltimore County Police Officer Jennifer Peach said.

Off-duty officers at the shindig quickly ran out and took the men into custody.” More here.> No joke: Robbers walk into a bar full of off-duty cops

“The 22-year-old man suspected of shooting five middle-aged white men since last year — including four on south Kansas City walking trails — threatened in 2014 to shoot up a school and “kill all white people,” according to court records.

Fredrick Demond Scott, who was charged Tuesday in two killings and named as a suspect in three more, made those statements in January 2014 at Center Alternative School, as documented in a municipal citation for harassment.” More here.> ‘Kill all white people’: Suspect in killings of five white men made threat in 2014

NEW YORK (AP) — “The scope of Wells Fargo’s fake accounts scandal grew significantly on Thursday, with the bank now saying that 3.5 million accounts were potentially opened without customers’ permission between 2009 and 2016.

That’s up from 2.1 million accounts that the bank had cited in September 2016, when it acknowledged that employees under pressure to meet aggressive sales targets had opened accounts that customers might not have even been aware existed. People may have had different kinds of accounts in their names, so the number of customers affected may differ from the account total.” More here.> Wells Fargo says 3.5 million accounts involved in scandal

“A lieutenant from a police department in Georgia is under investigation after a dash-cam video obtained by Channel 2 Action News appears to show the officer telling a driver during a DUI stop, “Remember, we only kill black people.”

Lt. Greg Abbott of the Cobb County Police Department reportedly asked the driver to grab her cell phone, but she replied she’s afraid to move her hands because she has “just seen way too many videos of cops … ”

Abbott responds, “But, you’re not black. Remember, we only shoot black people. We only kill black people, right? All the videos you’ve seen, have you seen the black people get killed?” More here.> Georgia police officer at DUI stop: ‘We only kill black people’

“The new police chief for a small Oklahoma town is resigning after a local station reported he had ties to two neo-Nazi websites.

He also told the Tulsa World the allegations have ruined his life and that he plans to resign his interim position leading the Colbert Police Department.

“Someone has been using my name for years on the Internet in regards to racist topics. It’s not me, rather someone who has hijacked my name due to my combativeness and rejection to white power skinheads who were always coming to the heavy metal shows, starting fights and messing up our scene,” he told the Tulsa World via text message.

Neo-Nazis in Dallas have been using his name since the mid-90s, he added.” More here.> Interim police chief resigns amid report of connection to neo-Nazi websites

“A former Texas police officer who has been previously indicted for possessing child pornography and uploading it to Twitter was arrested Monday on three additional charges.

Earnest McDonald III, 40, a former officer with the Amarillo Police Department, posted the $30,000 bond later on the same day he was arrested, the Amarillo Globe-News reported.

McDonald was originally indicted June 28 on two other possession of child pornography charges, but with the new counts, the former officer will now face five charges of possession of child pornography. The Amarillo Police Department said there was no new inquiry into McDonald, but that he was arrested Monday for the same investigation that began in 2016, according to ABC 7 Amarillo.” More here.> Former Texas police officer arrested for uploading child porn onto Twitter faces new charges

Politics:

“Hillary Clinton is ready to talk about “what happened.” But if you want to hear her speak about it in person, you may have to spend some serious dough.

Starting next month, the former Democratic presidential nominee embarks on a tour across the United States and Canada to promote “What Happened,” her memoir about running against Donald Trump for president. And the price for access is a throwback to campaign fundraisers.

For $2,375.95 (or $3,000 in Canadian dollars), Clinton fans in Toronto can obtain a “VIP platinum ticket” for her Sept. 28 talk. That ticket includes two front-row seats, a photo with Clinton backstage and a signed book.” More here.> Hillary Clinton charging big bucks for book tour events

“Do you plan to vote against Paul D. Ryan continuing his speakership?”

It was an easy-sounding question, asked at the end of a friendly Republican candidate forum at Minnesota’s state fair. To the pleasant surprise of Democrats, four of five Republicans seeking to flip House seats next year declined to support the speaker of the House, offering instead criticisms of Paul D. Ryan’s leadership.” More here.> In Minnesota, four swing-seat Republicans decline to back Ryan for speaker

Healthcare:

WASHINGTON (AP) — “Affirming its disdain for “Obamacare,” the Trump administration on Thursday announced sharp cuts in programs promoting health care enrollment under the Affordable Care Act for next year.

Advertising will be cut from $100 million spent on 2017 sign-ups to $10 million, said Health and Human Services officials. Funding for consumer helpers called “navigators” will also be cut, from $62.5 million for 2017, to $36.8 million for next year.

About 12.2 million people signed up for subsidized private health insurance under former President Barack Obama’s signature law this year. The number currently enrolled is estimated to be around 10 million, due to attrition also seen in prior years.” More here.> Trump administration slashes funds for health care sign-ups

Deep State / Government Corruption:

“The FBI is rejecting a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to turn over files related to its investigation of Hillary Clinton’s handling of classified emails.

An FBI official said the man who filed the request, attorney Ty Clevenger, had not “sufficiently demonstrated that the public’s interest in disclosure outweighs personal privacy interests of the subject.”

“It is incumbent upon the requester to provide documentation regarding the public’s interest in the operations and activities of the government before records can be processed pursuant to the FOIA,” FBI records management section chief David M. Hardy told Clevenger in a letter Monday.

On “America’s Newsroom” today, Jason Chaffetz said Hardy or whoever ordered him not to release these documents should be fired.” Video and More here.> Chaffetz: ‘Absolute Joke’ for FBI to Withhold Files on Clinton Email Investigation

“New Fox News contributor Tomi Lahren reacted to the FBI’s denial of a Freedom of Information Act request regarding Hillary Clinton’s emails.

The agency denied a request to publish the emails from her private server probe, saying the public interest doesn’t outweigh the need for personal privacy.

“Her privacy somehow trumps our right to know,” Lahren said. “Your privacy rights went out the window… when you’re the secretary of state of the United States of America.” More and Video here.> Lahren on FBI Email Denial: People Who Were in Benghazi Want to See Them

“Then-FBI Director James Comey began drafting a statement exonerating Hillary Clinton in the investigation into her private email use before interviewing key witnesses, including Clinton herself, two Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee said Thursday.

“Conclusion first, fact-gathering second—that’s no way to run an investigation,” Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham wrote in a letter this week to the FBI. “The FBI should be held to a higher standard than that, especially in a matter of such great public interest and controversy.” More here.> Comey began drafting ‘exoneration statement’ before interviewing Clinton, senators say
