Authorities Identify Dead Marine, 8 Presumed Killed
The Marine who died after an amphibious assault vehicle (AAV) mishap was named late Sunday as Lance Cpl. Guillermo Perez.
Authorities also identified the seven Marines and one sailor who are presumed dead.
Two Marines were injured in the accident, which took place late Thursday off the coast of Southern California.
A rifleman with the company was rushed to Scripps Memorial Hospital and is in critical condition.
An AAV crew member with Mechanized Company was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable condition.
The 16 service members were in the vehicle for a routine training exercise when it began taking on water before sinking.
Salvadoran Wanted for Murder in Virginia Found near New Mexico Border
Las Cruces Station agents assigned to the interior immigration checkpoint on Interstate 25 observed a commercial bus approaching in the northbound lane for inspection on July 31.
The agents began a routine inspection and interview of the passengers, according to information obtained from El Paso Sector Border Patrol officials.
The agents found a man who appeared to be attempting to hide in the bathroom, officials reported.
The agents interviewed the man and ran a field background check. Agents found an active warrant for the Salvadoran national from a court in Fairfax County, Virginia.
Agents learned the man is wanted on a warrant issued on July 24 for homicide.
Shakedown: BLM Demands Cut of Louisville Business Profits for Protection
Listed demands from a BLM affiliate in Louisville include racial quotas for staff and ownership of business suppliers, donations to organizations run by non-whites, and adjustment to dress codes.
The posters used the acronym “BIPOC” (“black or indigenous persons of color”) as a euphemism for non-white persons:
Additional demands issued via the letter included the option to give 1.5 percent of revenues to a local “black nonprofit or organization” in lieu of purchasing a minimum of 23 percent of the business’s inventory from “black retailers,” mandated “diversity and inclusion training” for all employees, and displaying of left-wing messaging to support “reparations.”
The posters include a stated commitment to be publicly visible as a public service announcement pending future “inspections” of restaurants and other businesses.

Prominent teachers unions are supporting the “actions” including the Chicago Teachers Union and United Teachers Los Angeles.
If you live in one of the many cities on the group’s list, prepare for large demonstrations from socialists, teachers unions, and progressive groups — until their large and ambiguous demands are met.

Shootings Spike in Portland After Disbandment of Gun Violence Reduction Team
The city saw 63 shootings through July 26, compared to 28 in July of 2019, according to data obtained by The Oregonian.
Detectives are investigating 22 deaths, 15 of which occurred in July, police officials said last week.
“That’s very concerning. I mean, to know that that many people have been killed in such a short period of time,” Portland Police Chief Chuck Lovell said at a recent virtual press conference.
Since the Gun Violence Reduction Team was disbanded on July 1, Lovell has repeatedly linked it with the struggle to police the city.
US Reports Smallest Daily CCP Virus Case Increase in 4 Weeks
The Wall Street Journal compiled the university’s data, noting that 47,511 new cases were reported on Sunday, Aug. 2, while noting that it’s the fewest number of cases reported since July 6 when about 44,900 were registered.
A day before that, on Saturday, more than 58,000 cases of the virus were reported nationwide, and on Friday about 67,000 cases were noted.
Outside of the United States, several other countries have seen significant increases in cases.
President Donald Trump, on Twitter, pointed to the Australian announcement to defend the U.S. response to the pandemic.
“Big China Virus breakouts all over the World, including nations which were thought to have done a great job. The Fake News doesn’t report this.
USA will be stronger than ever before, and soon,” he wrote on Sunday.
Chicago weekend shootings leave 9 dead, 25 wounded, including boy who ‘was unintended target’
Tragedy first struck Friday evening when Janari Ricks, a 9-year-old who was playing with a group of friends, died after being hit in the chest by a gunman who walked up and started opening fire, investigators say.
Chicago Police Department Chief of Operations Brian McDermott told the Sun-Times newspaper that Ricks “was an unintended target,” and now a $4,000 reward is being offered for information about the person who pulled the trigger.
Other fatal attacks in Chicago over the weekend included a drive-by shooting Sunday afternoon in Englewood and the killing of a woman who was found early Saturday with multiple gunshot wounds to her back, police say.

Trump Signs ‘Hiring American’ Executive Order to Prioritize US Workers
President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Monday that requires federal agencies to prioritize U.S. labor in federal contracts, ensure only American citizens are appointed to the competitive service, and stop employers from moving H-1B workers into jobs in a way that displaces U.S. workers.
“We believe jobs must be offered to American workers first,” Trump said in a statement.
The president signed the “Hiring American” order at a meeting of technology workers at the White House on Aug. 3, during which Trump announced that two members of the federally-owned Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) had been fired for actions that prompted the order.

President Trump Hits 51% Approval in Rasmussen Poll – Higher Than Obama at Same Point in Presidency
After having him trailing Biden by double digits in early July, a week ago Rasmussen Reports had the race as basically even, with Biden leading 47%-45%, which is within the poll’s margin of error.
Now, after falling to a pandemic low of 42% approval, Trump’s approval has since rebounded to 51%, or seven percentage points above where Barack Obama’s approval stood at the same stages of their presidency.
This comes in light of an unprecedented media onslaught since the minute Trump declared his candidacy for President.
Media Silent As Christopher Steele ‘Hero’ ‘Spymaster’ Narrative Crumbles

For years, the media assured Americans that the dossier alleging treasonous collusion between Donald Trump and Russia was based on the scrupulous work of a mastermind British ex-spy and his vast network of credible and well-connected sources spread throughout Europe.
It wasn’t true.
Steele did not personally collect any of the factual information in his reports. The “vast network” was instead a “social circle” of an American-based former Brookings Institute junior staffer, recently identified for the first time as Igor Danchenko.
The media have a problem, then, given that they repeatedly led viewers and readers to believe Steele was a master spy.
They can almost get away with ignoring the recent news that once again shows their previous reporting was catastrophically wrong.
In fact, some media outlets did just that.
Nevada’s “Late Night Coup”
The bill will send a mail-in voting ballot to every active voter in the state. It also gives third parties the ability to fill out ballots for the elderly and the disabled.
But President Trump has already threatened legal action if Governor Sisolak signs this into law, tweeting, “In an illegal late night coup, Nevada’s clubhouse Governor made it impossible for Republicans to win the state.

1) Tensions along Israel’s northern front flared-up late last night when a Syrian militant cell was spotted planting explosive devices near the Israeli security-barrier.
2) Palestinian Islamists launched a rocket last night from the Gaza Strip toward Israel’s southern communities prompting an Israeli retaliatory response against Hamas installations.
3) Approximately ten thousand Israelis demonstrate in front of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence over the government’s perceived failure to deal with the corona-crisis.
Sweden’s COVID-19 Numbers Keep Falling, Even Without Locking Down
Sweden, which never went into a full COVID-19 lockdown, continues to report falling numbers of new infections and deaths, while several other European countries that imposed widescale restrictions are seeking spikes in cases and, in some cases, deaths.
Setting it apart from most of Europe, Swedish authorities chose to forgo a hard lockdown and kept most schools and businesses open throughout the COVID-19 outbreak.
Last week, the government announced that it would stop advising against non-necessary travel to Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic.
Neighboring Demark and Norway, whose governments took a stricter approach to lockdowns, are both seeing rebounds in their daily new cases.
Afghan Forces Retake Jail Attacked by ISIS; 29 Killed, Hundreds of Prisoners Missing
More than 300 prisoners were at large, Attaullah Khugyani, spokesman for the governor of Nangarhar province, said.
Of the 1,793 prisoners, more than 1,025 had tried to escape and been recaptured and 430 had remained inside.
“The rest are missing,” he said.
After detonating a car bomb at the entrance on Sunday evening, ISIS gunmen overran the prison where many ISIS terrorists captured during a campaign in the past month were being held, along with Taliban terrorists and common criminals.

Media Mogul Tyler Perry Tells CNN ‘We Need More Police’
Arguably one of the most well-known names in Hollywood is Tyler Perry.
Many of the awards he has received reside in categories such as “African-American Film Critics Award,” and “NAACP Image Awards” clearly demonstrating how valued and respected he is in the Black community.
Perry deserves yet another award; shocking CNN. Perry gave his opinions on defunding the Police in an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper.
Unwilling to fall in line with the demands of many Democrats and African Americans, Perry said, “I am not for taking money from the police department.”
Not only was Perry’s strength to announce his position refreshing, but his reasoning was heartfelt.
Does College = Success?
Jeremy Boreing, co-founder of The Daily Wire, doesn’t have a college degree.
Neither do Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, or a host of other innovators who have shaped our contemporary world.
Which begs an important question: Is a college degree really necessary for success?
