Homeless man with 25 prior arrests busted in rape of NYC jogger, is suspect in two other sex crimes: sources
The 29-year-old suspect — who has yet to be charged in connection with any of the attacks — was taken into custody at the Port Authority bus station several hours after the assault, the sources said. Cops from the Port Authority Police Department spotted the suspect, who’d shaved his eyebrows, and took him into custody.
Police believe he raped, choked and robbed a 43-year-old woman while she was out for a run at Pier 45 around 5:30 a.m., according to the sources.
Cops tracked him down after he used stolen credit cards at a Target in Midtown to buy $39 worth of Red Bull energy drinks.
But police have been hunting for him since at least April, after he attacked a woman out on a run near West and Clarkson streets on March 27, according to sources.
The woman was jogging on Pier 40 around 6 a.m. when the suspect, who was on a bike, rode up to her, pushed her down, choked her and sexually assaulted her before swiping her cell phone and taking off, cops said at the time.

Man Who Kidnapped, Assaulted Border Patrol Agent with Machete Gets 31 Years in Prison
The federal court convicted 37-year-old Fernando Angel Puga, aka “Cholo,” of Las Cruces, for one count of kidnapping; one count of carjacking resulting in serious bodily injury; and one count of transportation of a stolen vehicle in interstate commerce in May, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas.
A New Mexico state court’s jury found Puga not guilty of the attempted murder of Border Patrol Agent Lorenzo Hernandez in April, 2019, Breitbart Texas reported. The jury also found him not guilty on the charge of aggravated assault.
However, Puga’s co-conspirator Sergio Ivan Venegas-Quiñonez, a Mexican national, pleaded guilty to the state charge of attempted murder and received a sentence of up to nine years in prison.
Earlier this year, Venegas-Quiñonez pleaded guilty to the carjacking charged and received a sentence of 60 months in prison in September, the U.S. Attorney’s Office stated.
Shooting at NC-14 GOP candidate Pat Harrigan family home, none injured
Carolina Journal has learned that on Oct. 18, a shooting took place at the residence the parents of GOP congressional candidate Pat Harrigan, who is running against Democrat state Sen. Jeff Jackson in NC’s 14th congressional district.
CJ spoke with Harrigan campaign manager Brandon Craft, who said that someone shot into the Hickory residence and that the investigation has been on-going since that time.
Harrigan’s parents currently own and live in the home, but Craft said that Harrigan’s children were in the home when the incident occurred and the shot entered only a few feet from where the children were sleeping.
The event comes in the midst of a fairly negative campaign between the two NC-14 candidates, with Harrigan recently challenging Jackson to a debate in an open letter and Jackson questioning Harrigan’s residency in NC-14. While residency in the district is not required for congressional races, some voters consider it a negative if a candidate resides outside.
Tensions are high across the country, as well, with less than a week left until Election Day. This incident is just one in a pattern of recent attacks involving other elected officials, candidates, and their families, notably the attack on U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi; a shooting at New York GOP gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin’s home; and a reported assault of Republican U.S. Senate candidate Don Bolduc of New Hampshire at a campaign event Nov. 2.

Guevara says the attack stemmed from a domestic issue that her former friend was upset about. The former friend attacked Guevara as she had her then 1-year-old daughter in her arms in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Hemet.
As Guevara tries to heal physically and emotionally from the May 2022 attack, she tells FOX 11 the attacker was reportedly charged with misdemeanor child endangerment. However, on Monday, that case was dismissed by a Riverside County Superior Court Judge.
Why? Because there were no courtrooms available in Riverside County.

U.S. Border Patrol agents released a statement saying California agents “conducting routine patrol operations recently encountered several men suspected of being illegally present in the United States. Four of the men were heavily armed.”

US senators, in Kyiv visit, vow to continue bipartisan support after elections
KYIV – US Republican Senator Rob Portman and his Democratic colleague Chris Coons vowed that bipartisan support would continue for Ukraine after next week’s midterm congressional elections, as they travelled to Kyiv on Thursday.
The senators told reporters that they had “very positive” talks with President Volodymyr Zelensky, and that they had visited an energy facility that Mr Coons said had been hit by a Russian strike using an Iranian-supplied drone.
“We can now see that Putin’s goal is to get Ukraine afraid by trying to make the winter dark and cold,” Mr Coons said in the vast, chilly church that now doubled as a World Food Programme aid centre in Kyiv.
The visit comes amid speculation that the Republicans, seen as favourites to take control of the House of Representatives after Tuesday’s midterm elections, could dampen US support for Ukraine.

Top House Republicans blister Homeland chief Mayorkas over censorship, personal honesty
In a blistering oversight letter, 16 prominent House Republicans are accusing the Homeland Security Department of using a private group to “silence narratives” during elections and directly challenging the honesty of Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas concerning allegations he made against border patrol agents.
“While the Administration publicly paused the creation of its Disinformation Governance Board, DHS continues to suppress dissenting viewpoints,” the lawmakers wrote, citing a series of Just the News articles last month that highlighted how Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) collaborated with and endorsed the censorship activities of a private consortium called the Election Integrity Partnership.
Just the News reported the collaboration led to numerous requests to social media companies to censor, throttle or label as disinformation content involving 20 news sites, two dozen conservative influencers and nearly 22 million tweets during the 2020 election.
The partnership recently announced it is back in action in 2022 and that some of its members got grants from the Biden administration.

The Country Is In The Middle Of A Diesel Crisis — And The Biden Admin Is Making It Worse, Experts Say
The U.S. is facing a diesel shortage which is causing the Biden administration to consider taking action to shore up supplies as fuel refiners struggle to produce enough fuel to meet heavy demand.
Diesel supplies have become dangerously low due to recent refinery closures that have been exacerbated by the Biden administration’s regulations as well as increased fuel demand following the coronavirus pandemic, experts told the DCNF.
“There’s an enormous tax and regulatory burden that the Biden administration has put on refining along with other industries,” Josh Young, chief investment officer and founder of energy investment firm Bison Interests, told the DCNF.
“Emissions rules and general regulations have increased tremendously under the Biden administration, raising operating costs and causing some refineries to either shut down or not expand operations.”
Crude oil, which is pumped in the U.S. or imported, must be processed at refineries to produce distillate fuels like diesel and gasoline. The Biden administration has continuously imposed environmental policies to cut carbon emissions and achieve “environmental justice” which have damaged refiners’ output.

Russian Nuclear Submarine Successfully Test-Fires Bulava Ballistic Missile Amid Tensions With NATO
In another show of nuclear brinkmanship, both US and Russian nuclear submarines have positioned themselves in strategic locations, as the war in Ukraine shows no signs of abating.
Meanwhile, Russian nuclear submarine Generalissimus Suvorov successfully fired a Bulava ballistic missile from the White Sea at the Kura range as part of the final stage of state tests, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
“The crew of the newest strategic missile submarine Generalissimus Suvorov of the Borey-A project, successfully fired the Bulava ballistic missile as part of the final stage of state tests,” the statement says.
“Missile firing was carried out from a submerged position from the White Sea at the Kura training ground on the Kamchatka Peninsula. The flight of the Bulava ballistic missile took place in normal mode. According to the confirmed data of objective control, the warheads of the missile successfully arrived in the specified area of the Kura range,” the ministry noted.
Woman Whose Ambulance Was Blocked by Climate Extremists Declared Brain Dead by Doctors
It comes after efforts by emergency services to aid the woman in the immediate aftermath of the accident were said to be significantly delayed by climate protesters, who have now repeatedly blocked major roadways in the German capital.

Trudeau Govt To Increase Migration Levels To 500,000 Per Year
According to Immigration Minister Sean Fraser, however, over 400,000 new immigrants to Canada are not enough to fill labour gaps and stated that there are around a million jobs that need to be filled, broadcaster CBC reports.
The government will look to further increase the rate of immigration to at least 500,000 per year by 2025, with immigrants allegedly being chosen based on their work experience or skills.
Of the over 400,000 migrants who arrived in Canada, just 62 per cent were economic class migrants, while 20 per cent were a result of chain migration or family unification and 15 per cent came as refugees and protected persons.
The surge of new arrivals in recent years to Canada has led to immigrants becoming nearly a quarter of the entire population of Canada according to the 2021 national census and statistics Canada projects that by 2041 over a third of all Canadians will be born abroad.
Around 8.3 million people living in Canada permanently are immigrants, the largest share of any country in the G7 and between 2016 and 2021 immigrants accounted for 71.1 per cent of Canada’s population growth.
TikTok Admits Chinese Employees Can Access Private Data of Users in UK, Europe
BBC News reports that TikTok recently revealed to users that employees in China had access to account data from the UK and EU. The social media firm said that its “privacy policy” was “based on a demonstrated need to do their job.”
Concerns over whether data may be provided to the Chinese government have prompted authorities around the world, including the UK and the U.S., to examine the app. This week, FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr called for TikTok to be banned in America.
According to Elaine Fox, TikTok’s privacy lead for Europe, a global team helped keep user experiences “consistent, enjoyable, and safe.” Fox further noted that although TikTok stores European user data in the U.S. and Singapore, “we allow certain employees within our corporate group located in Brazil, Canada, China, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and the United States remote access to TikTok European user data.”
Brendan Carr, a commissioner at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), called for TikTok to be banned in America earlier this week, stating: “I don’t believe there is a path forward for anything other than a ban.”
North Korea Fires Suspected ICBM, Warns U.S. Against ‘Dangerous’ Choices
TOKYO/SEOUL (Reuters) – North Korea fired multiple missiles into the sea on Thursday, including a possible failed intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), prompting the United States and South Korea to extend air drills that have angered Pyongyang.
Despite an initial government warning that the apparent ICBM had flown over Japan, triggering warning alarms for some residents, Tokyo later said this was incorrect.
The launches came a day after the North fired a daily record 23 missiles, including one that landed off the coast of South Korea for the first time, and drew swift condemnation from Washington, Seoul and Tokyo.
Since Monday, South Korea and the United States have been conducting one of the largest air exercises ever, with hundreds of South Korean and U.S. warplanes, including F-35 fighters, staging around-the-clock simulated missions.
After Thursday’s ICBM launch, the allies agreed to extend the drills past Friday, when they had been scheduled to end, South Korea’s Air Force said in a statement.
