Man Gets Shot After Fleeing From Traffic Stop With Officer in Car
Officer asked Allen to exit the vehicle. Allen rolled the window up, moved into the driver’s seat, and started to drive off.
In the video, you can see the officer, initially leans into the car in an attempt to stop him, before being taken with the vehicle.
Within seconds, Sergeant Josh Lo shoots Allen and the vehicle came to a stop. Officers attempted to render aid, but Allen died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

Court filings indicate that O’Brine used to live in the home in question with a longtime girlfriend who recently accused him of domestic abuse, KCRG reported.
Egg smuggling into the US increases, border authorities report amid soaring inflation
U.S. Customs and Border Protection recently announced a rise in egg smuggling into the country amid soaring poultry costs and inflation.
According to CBP’s reports, egg products and poultry seizures at the southern border were up 108% from October 1 to December 31 last year. The Economic Research Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture noted that during that same period, the price of a dozen eggs increased from $3.50 to $5.30 due to an avian flu outbreak that forced farmers to put down 43 million chickens.
In December, Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico saw the country’s most significant egg price hikes, with the cost of a dozen eggs increasing over 64%, Datasembly reported. Oregon, California, and Washington experienced an 18% increase during that same period.

Mobile communications giant T-Mobile says the hack in which data was obtained from roughly 37,000 customers suggested the breach was perpetrated by a single entity and said the effort began as far back as November 2022.
The company said the hack occurred through a single application but is unclear whether one more people were involved, according to a Security and Exchange Commission report filed Thursday.
“The preliminary result from our investigation indicates that the bad actor(s) obtained data from this API for approximately 37 million current postpaid and prepaid customer accounts, though many of these accounts did not include the full data set,” the SEC filing states.

Last year, a whistleblower disclosed to Empower Oversight that the inspectors general (IGs) of the National Security Agency (NSA) and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) had received salary payments in excess of the legal limits.
The whistleblower also disclosed that CIGIE’s Integrity Committee received a copy of the January 25th memorandum and shared it with CIGIE’s members—including the NSA-IG and the NRO-IG.
Yet the Integrity Committee, co-chaired by the NSA-IG, failed to open an inquiry into the overpayments.
To date DOD-OIG, CIGIE, and NSA have produced 154 pages of heavily redacted records. DOD-OIG produced 116 pages of redacted records, and Empower Oversight successfully appealed the adequacy of DOD-OIG’s records search and the legitimacy of its redactions.
CIGIE produced 38 pages of heavily redacted records, and NSA has produced nothing. DOD-OIG, CIGIE, and NSA claim to continue to process Empower Oversight’s requests.
Congress required IGs to be selected “solely on the basis of integrity and demonstrated ability in accounting, auditing, financial analysis, law, management analysis, public administration, or investigations” because of the special public trust required of the position. Further, it established CIGIE to “address integrity, economy, and effectiveness issues” among the IG’s offices.

Despite Roadblocks, Residents In Iran’s Zahedan Again Hold Anti-Government Protests
Anti-government protesters took to the streets after Friday Prayers in the southeastern Iranian city of Zahedan, despite attempts by security forces to ward off demonstrations by choking off the main roads leading through the city.
Molavi Abdulmajid, an adviser to Molavi Abdolhamid, a spiritual leader for Iran’s Sunni Muslim population, said in an interview with RFERL’s Radio Farda that military forces had set up checkpoints in the city on January 20 in “an attempt to create terror in the city after the appointment of the new commander of the country’s police force.”
Abdulmajid said the Islamic republic wants them to stop the demonstrations, which were sparked by the death of a young woman in September while in police custody in Tehran and exacerbated by a brutal crackdown, known as Bloody Friday, in Zahedan.
“Until the issue of Bloody Friday and the people of Zahedan who were killed and injured is resolved, this situation will continue,” Abdulmajid added.

Euronews has reached out to Hungarian authorities for comment.
Discussions in the working group are still ongoing, one of the diplomats told Euronews, and the issue is now expected to be addressed by foreign ministers at their next gathering on Monday.
As this pertains to foreign affairs, unanimity from all 27 member states is required for the funds to be released.
The EU has so far disbursed €3.1 billion for military equipment to Ukraine through six tranches of the EPF — more than half the €5.5bn allocated to the fund for the 2021-2027 period.

Former President Donald Trump on Friday voluntarily withdrew his lawsuit against New York Attorney General Letitia James a day after he was ordered to pay nearly $1 million for repeatedly filing “frivolous” lawsuits, reports ABC News.
Trump in the suit claimed James “abused her position as Attorney General for the State of New York to pursue a vendetta” against him after James sued Trump and his three adult children over allegations of business fraud.
Trump’s notice of dismissal was filed in West Palm Beach, Fla. with U.S. District Judge Donald Middlebrooks, who on Thursday warned Trump’s legal team that the suit appeared to be frivolous.
Middlebrooks also presided over Trump’s lawsuit against Hillary Clinton where the former president claimed that Clinton and others involved in the Russia probe unlawfully conspired to damage Trump’s reputation.

Rep. Lance Gooden (R-TX) has called for an investigation into foreign gifts given to the university that hosts President Joe Biden’s think tank in Washington, D.C., where classified documents were recently found in Biden’s private office, the Daily Caller reported.
In a letter to Education Secretary Miguel Cardona, Gooden raised concerns about reports that since Biden became president, as much as $51 million has flowed from foreign countries into the University of Pennsylvania, the think tank’s parent institution.
That total includes $14 million from unnamed sources in China and Hong Kong, as well as $2.4 million from Saudi Arabia, according to a Washington Free Beacon report cited by Gooden.
It’s official: Trump’s tax cuts paid for themselves
Biden and congressional Democrats now want to let expire major planks of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, former President Donald Trump’s signature domestic achievement, particularly the incentives for American businesses to invest more here at home.
We now have incontrovertible evidence that after five years since they took effect, the Trump tax rate cuts of 2017 raised revenues over this time period.
The latest Congressional Budget Office report released earlier this month calculated that the federal government collected $4.9 trillion of federal revenue last year. This was up — ready for this? — almost $1.5 trillion since 2017, the year before the tax cuts became law.
This shouldn’t be a giant surprise. The same thing happened when Democratic President John F. Kennedy cut tax rates in the 1960s and when Republican President Ronald Reagan cut tax rates in the 1980s. Lower rates and more revenues.
None of this seems to matter to the White House or congressional Democrats. They want to monomaniacally repeal a tax cut that worked. This would be like firing a coach who wins every game.
