Gateway Pundit: Polls Show Extreme Jury Bias In January 6 Trials

Yesterday kicked off jury selection for Steve Bannon’s “Contempt of Congress” trial. In the same building jury selection also commenced for the case of J6 defendant Matthew Bledsoe. (Opening statements begin today for both cases).

Bledsoe is being charged with multiple crimes for walking into the Capitol on J6, including Obstruction of Justice.

Multiple independent polls show that the D.C. jury pool is extremely bias. One study was conducted by the Federal Public Defender’s Office and shows that a January 6th defendant will not get a fair trial in Washington D.C. The Justice Department is aware of these findings, yet refuses to agree to move venues for any of the defendants. 

According to our courtroom observer Gabriel Garcia, the jury pools for both men were comprised of mostly far left liberals who admitted to getting their news from CNN and The Washington Post.

They made statements like “what happened on January 6th is a stain in America’s History” and admitted that they could not be ‘fair and impartial’ jurors. Interestingly, two veterans and a military worker that were being considered as jurors for the Bledsoe case were immediately struck by the prosecution and did not make the jury.

Man arrested after allegedly pointing gun at two women. Witness says suspect was upset women didn’t say thank you after he held door open for them.

Police said they responded to a report about the incident at 1245 Dixwell Ave. around 3:15 p.m. Officer Joseph Venditto and Officer Timothy Janus located the suspect on Helen Street, police added.

The suspect — later identified as 25-year-old Joshua Murray — had a gun on him, police said.

Authorities said that while Murray interfered with officers during his arrest, no one was injured during the initial complaint or during the arrest.

Murray, a New Haven resident, was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, two counts of second-degree breach of peace, and interfering with a police officer, police said.

No injuries reported after explosion at Hoover Dam

While the ensuing fire has since been extinguished, nothing has been released about a possible cause.

A video of the incident taken and posted to Twitter by by Kristy Hairston has amassed over 1 million views.

In the footage, a fire can be seen near the bottom of the dam, with a huge plume of black smoke emanating from where an explosion is said to have occurred.

Border crisis hits NYC: Adams calls on Biden as shelters overrun with migrants

New York City’s homeless shelters are being overrun with asylum-seeking migrants as the nation’s immigration crisis continues to worsen — with nearly 3,000 arriving in recent weeks, Mayor Eric Adams warned Monday.

Adams called on President Biden to send “additional federal resources immediately” so the city can handle the overflow.

Adams said the added migrant burden included families “arriving on buses sent by the Texas and Arizona governments” but in other cases, he said, “it appears that individuals are being sent by the federal government.”

Adams became the second big-city mayor in recent days to fault the federal government for the influx of migrants into local homeless shelters.

On Sunday, Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser called the problem “a very significant issue.”

No Prosecution for Stephen Colbert Staffers Arrested for Breaching U.S. Capitol

As Breitbart News reported, the group was arrested in the Capitol’s Longworth House Office Building and initially charged with illegal entry into the House office buildings after hours.

The nine individuals were reportedly escorted out of the January 6 Committee hearing for not having proper press credentials.

The staffers were reportedly taking videos and photographs outside the offices of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Col.).

Police said the group was arrested on unlawful entry charges “because members of the group had been told several times before they entered the Congressional buildings that they had to remain with a staff escort inside the buildings and they failed to do so.”

Now they have been cleared of any wrongdoing.

Manhattan DA moves to drop murder charge against NYC bodega worker in deadly stabbing

Jennifer Sigall, assistant district attorney under Bragg, issued a motion Thursday to dismiss the second-degree murder charge against Alba and provided a copy to his attorney, Michelle Villasenor-Grant. 

“Following an investigation, the People have determined that we cannot prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant was not justified in his use of deadly physical force.

As such, the People will not be presenting the case to a Grand Jury and for the reasons provided in the attached memorandum, hereby move to dismiss the complaint,” Bragg wrote in court documents obtained by Fox News. 

Bodycam Footage Shows Officer Firing at Fleeing Suspect in San Diego, California

San Diego, California — The San Diego Police Department released bodycam footage showing an Officer firing two rounds and Tasering a 44-year-old man suspected of committing sexual battery and then threatening officers in the Bay Terraces neighborhood.

According to audio of a 911 call released by the department, at about 7:30 p.m. on July 7, the caller told a dispatcher that a neighbor was under the influence of drugs, entered the caller’s home and tried to have sex with the caller.

Another One: Actual Good Guy With a Gun Kills Man on Violent Crime Spree

Police said the robber was on a “violent crime spree” across three St. Charles gas stations.

The QuikTrip customer, identified only as a 26-year-old man from St. Louis, stopped around 3:20 a.m. at the gas station at 2260 First Capitol Drive to use the restroom and make a purchase, St. Charles police said in a release. The man was on his way back to his vehicle in front of the store when he saw a black SUV pull up abruptly.

The customer watched a man get out of the SUV, run into the QuikTrip carrying a backpack, and approach a clerk by the coffee pots, police said. He then grabbed the clerk and dragged her to the front of the store while she was screaming.

The customer saw the man inside the station holding a knife to the clerk’s throat. The customer got his 9 mm (sic) handgun from his vehicle, entered the store, and confronted the suspect, police said.

‘Like a Horror Movie’: Top Scientists Alarmed and Embarrassed by Agencies’ Failure to Follow Science on COVID

Top doctors and scientists at the leading U.S. public health agencies are “frustrated, exasperated and alarmed” about the direction of the agencies they work for, according to the authors of a Substack post published last week.

They’re also embarrassed — about “bad science.” And many are leaving.

“It’s like a horror movie I’m being forced to watch and I can’t close my eyes,” said one senior official with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). “People are getting bad advice and we can’t say anything.”

The comment was one of many culled from calls and text messages between officials and the article’s co-authors, Marty Makary M.D., M.P.H., and Tracy Beth Høeg M.D., Ph.D.

Former Pfizer Executive: ‘I Predicted This Would Be Dangerous’

In early 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded, Michael Yeadon, Ph.D., a former Pfizer vice-president and senior scientist, realized that something wasn’t quite right with what public health officials were saying about the virus, and how lies and exaggeration led the public to embrace experimental COVID-19 vaccines.

The vaccines were unconventional in design, and despite the option to use safer benign proteins, all four drug companies (Moderna, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca) chose to use the most pathologically dangerous part of the virus — the spike protein.

“I predicted this would be dangerous,” Yeadon told Brian Hooker, Ph.D., host of CHD.TV’s “Doctors & Scientists.”

“And my peers on the inside knew that and they all did the same thing,” he said. “It’s not an accident.”

Pulitzer Board audits NYT, WaPo’s Trump-Russia collusion stories but won’t rescind awards

In a press release Monday, the board – whose award has long been considered the top journalism award – said it has reviewed inquiries about the stories, including one from former President Trump.

Trump has threatened to sue the board for not rescinding the two new outlets’ prizes.

In response to the inquiries, the Pulitzer Board established two independent reviews to look at the stories after the staff of both newspapers received the 2018 National Reporting prize.

“The separate reviews converged in their conclusions: that no passages or headlines, contentions or assertions in any of the winning submissions were discredited by facts that emerged subsequent to the conferral of the prizes,” the board said.

Inflation may hit Social Security recipients twice

Although Social Security recipients receive a cost-of-living adjustment, or COLA, that is indexed to inflation, the amount of benefits exempted from tax has remained unchanged for decades. Since 1984, retirees have owed taxes on their benefits if their income – including their Social Security payments – is more than $25,000 if they are single or $32,000 if they are a married couple.

Individuals who earn more than $34,000 and couples who earn more than $44,000 can be taxed on up to 85% of their benefits. 

Should Social Security beneficiaries see a 10.5% increase in their monthly checks next year, it would mark the steepest annual adjustment since 1981, when recipients saw an 11.2% bump. 

The decades-high benefit increase is not necessarily good news for recipients. It could push many into a higher tax bracket — meaning retirees will pay more taxes on a bigger share of their monthly payments, according to Mary Johnson, a policy analyst at the Senior Citizens League who conducted the analysis. 

Some seniors may never have owed taxes on their benefits, but that’s likely to change next year when they file their tax returns. In fact, the Congressional Budget Office has estimated the share of Social Security benefits subject to tax could grow by 10% this year and another 10% in 2023. In all, total income taxes paid on that money is projected to climb by 37% this year.

Higher monthly income can also reduce seniors’ eligibility for low-income programs like SNAP, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (food stamps), Johnson said.

Blogger paid by Dem candidate who targeted Mayra Flores defends sexist attacks, other racist posts

A blogger in Texas that racially targeted GOP Rep. Mayra Flores after he was paid twice by Democratic Rep. Vicente Gonzalez’s campaign for “advertising services” has a history of using racist terms against Hispanics and African Americans in numerous blog posts over the last few years.

Following a Tuesday morning report from NBC News, the first to highlight the blog’s racist and sexist posts directed at Flores and a $1,000 “advertising” payment to the blogger from Gonzalez’s campaign, Fox News Digital discovered additional posts from The McHale Report that struck a similar tone and referenced female genitalia.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Flores responded to the posts and accused Gonzalez of hiring the blogger to attack her Hispanic heritage and sexually degrade her, calling the action “truly sick.”

Hunter Biden May Still Own Stake in Chinese Oil Company, Chinese Records Show

Hunter Biden “no longer holds any interest, directly or indirectly in either BHR or Skaneateles,” Hunter’s lawyer Chris Clark claimed in November to the New York Times.

But Chinese business records contradict Clark’s claim. “Chinese site Qixin says the latest filing comes from BHR itself and that it was filed last month,” the Washington Examiner reported. “The 2021 annual report by BHR has an ‘announcement date’ of June 20. Skaneateles is still listed as a ‘shareholder’ with a 10% stake.”

China’s business registry may not have been changed to reflect Hunter’s vacated interest. But with Hunter’s global profile as the United States president’s son, the omission seems unlikely.

It should be noted that Hunter’s representative has also refused to say who bought the stake in the company and for what price.

In a reset, Marcos scraps Duterte’s China loans

MANILA – Just weeks into Ferdinand Marcos Jr’s presidency, the Philippines is seriously recalibrating its once-intimate relations with China.

The Philippine Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced that it has effectively canceled three major railway projects with Chinese counterparts initiated under the previous Rodrigo Duterte administration.

The new Marcos Jr government has expressed its commitment to reactivate defunct projects worth 276 billion pesos ($5 billion) and stretching across major Philippine islands, but has raised concerns over perceived as exorbitant interest rates compared to alternative donors such as Japan.

Earlier this year, the Philippines also suspended long-running negotiations with China over disputed energy resources in the South China Sea.

China has tried to downplay these setbacks by insisting that bilateral relations are on a good trajectory and speaking of “a new era of China-Philippine friendship” under the new Filipino president.

The Asian powerhouse, however, has likely by now realized that things won’t be business as usual under Marcos Jr, who has already taken a tougher stance on the South China Sea disputes and pursued a far more balanced approach to major powers than his Beijing-friendly predecessor.

Russia shot down its own advanced fighter bomber, Ukraine claims

There is not yet an official admission by the Russian side that either Russian or Russian-allied Ukrainian separatists shot down one of Russia’s own Su-34s, however Russian war correspondent Evgeny Poddubny shared a video of an explosion in the night sky over the Russian-occupied Ukrainian town of Alchevsk on Monday, with the caption, “Last night, the air defense crew of the allied forces destroyed a target in the sky over Alchevsk (LPR). The nature of the target is not clear. The burning ball fell to the ground for more than a minute.”

The Su-34 entered Russian service in 2014, according to Air Force technology. Russia state media publications have repeatedly touted the advanced aircraft’s successes throughout the war in Ukraine.

Earlier this month, Military Watch Magazine reported the Russian Air Force just received the first of its latest and most advanced variant of the Su-34, known as the Su-34M. Observers with the Dutch Aviation Society who looked at the footage of the wreckage of the aircraft, claimed the destroyed aircraft’s markings match those of RF-95890, a Su-34M variant with improved avionics, radar, communications, electronic warfare and weapons systems.

Russia’s defence ministry released a cookie-cutter statement in the wake of the flyover, which coincided with Russian missiles striking several settlements in eastern and southern Ukraine.

‘All flights by Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft are carried out in strict compliance with international rules of airspace use,’ the ministry said.

The flight of the White Swans over the Barents sea close to Finnish and Swedish shores represents yet another example of Putin’s tried and tested nuclear sabre-rattling to discourage further military action from NATO and the West.  

Russia’s show of nuclear readiness over the Barents sea came as Putin arrived in the Iran for a visit intended to deepen ties with regional heavyweights as part of Moscow’s challenge to the United States and Europe amid the war in Ukraine.

In only his second trip abroad since Russian tanks rolled into Ukraine on February 24, Putin is scheduled to hold talks with Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan about the pressing issues facing the region, including the conflict in Syria and a UN-backed proposal to resume exports of Ukrainian grain to ease the global food crisis.

BBC Called Out For Interviewing Transgendered MMA Fighter That Hates Women

BBC interviewed a transgendered MMA fighter named Fallon Fox (a man pretending to be a woman) last month who has said on the record that he enjoys beating up beating up real women in competitions. 

“For the record, I knocked two out. One woman’s skull was fractured, the other not,” said Fox. “And just so you know, I enjoyed it. See, I love smacking up [TERFSs] in the cage who talk transphobic nonsense. It’s bliss!”

Fair Play For Women, a British campaign group that advocates for the rights of women in athletics, demanded that Radio 4 (the station that interviewed fox), issue an on-air apology for conducting an interview with someone that so clearly hates the gender she claims to be a part of. 

This was not the first time in recent memory that the BBC has willfully attempted to paint evil-spirited transgenders in a favorable light. In May, the BBC changed the preferred pronouns of a rapist in order to make the criminal feel better, ignoring biological women who were harmed by this transgendered imposter.

Penny Mordaunt facing backlash over new post-Brexit trade announcement

Penny Mordaunt is at the centre of a row over whether she should be able to announce a new trade agreement during the Tory leadership contest.

The trade minister, who is among the final three candidates to replace Boris Johnson, has been involved in Government efforts to sign post-Brexit agreements with individual US states.

But, although a new deal with North Carolina is set to be unveiled tomorrow, Ms Mordaunt is facing a backlash over whether she should be able to front the announcement.

California man faces execution in Iran for being a journalist

Speaking from California, Sharmahd’s daughter Gazelle told Fox News Digital that a Tehran regime lawyer told the family a “death sentence is certain.” Gazelle said a sixth hearing of her father’s “sham trial” might unfold this week. Iran’s regime refused to allow an independent lawyer to represent Sharmahd.  

The clerical regime kidnapped the 67-year-old Sharmahd in July 2020 while he was staying at a hotel in Dubai. Sharmahd has lived in California since 2003.  

Tehran’s opaque justice system claims Sharmahd played a role in a 2008 terrorist attack at a mosque in Shiraz, Iran that left 14 dead and more than 200 injured.  

However, the regime-controlled media outlet Fars News quoted the Iranian National Security Council in 2008 as saying, “The explosion of a bomb or any explosion carried out by opposition elements, be they internal or foreign, is ruled out. The blast was caused by some munitions used in an exhibition for the [Iran-Iraq War] martyrs in the mosque.” 

Sharmahd worked as a radio journalist in California exposing the high levels of Iranian citizens’ dissatisfaction with the theocratic state. “My dad created a website where activists [in Iran] could post articles, and he would talk about it on his radio show,” Gazelle said.
