Google CEO Dodges Question On Blacklisting Of Conservative Websites
NewsBusters reported that the websites impacted by the Google blackout were still organically available on Bing, Yahoo, and DuckDuckGo.
Steube’s questioning and the recent episodes of censorship come just one month after Google threatened to demonetize The Federalist following a report from NBC’s “Verification Unit” compiled in collusion with a foreign left-wing think tank.
While NBC first reported Google de-platformed The Federalist for its coverage of the riots sweeping American cities, the company released a statement that it was merely threatening the conservative website to take action for content in its comment section, not its published commentary.
Twitter Greenlights Ayatollah’s Calls for Genocide
Twitter came under fire Wednesday during a meeting of the Knesset—Israel’s unicameral legislature—for allowing Iran’s Supreme Leader to post anti-Semitic tweets promoting genocide.
The social media platform has refused to apply the same standards to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei that it holds President Donald Trump to.
Many of the president’s tweets have been taken down for “glorifying violence,” while the Ayatollah’s tweets—some of which advocate for the genocide of Israeli Jews—remain untouched.

They explained to the woman and others in that vehicle that they wanted to talk about race issues.
A passenger in the car told the marchers, “She is going to give birth. Get out of the road.”
Tianna Arata, 20, among the protest organizers, said, “She’s ignorant.”

Man who interviewed sign-bearing Trump supporter day he was killed believes shooting may be politically motivated
While he previously made signs bearing controversial opinions, including anti-abortion signage, he had never received any negative backlash until he began carrying a sign promoting the reelection of President Donald Trump a few weeks back.
Adebisi Agoro, a local man who was not particularly close with Trammell but who referred to him affectionately as “The Ras,” was surprised to see the 60-year-old with a sign that read “Vote Trump 2020.”
Agoro had just recently started his website, The God Degree, to pursue his lifelong dream of working in the media in honor of his son, who passed away a few years back.
After seeing others in the community unfairly mock and harass the Trump supporter, Agoro decided to interview Trammell.
On July 23, hours before the shooting, the two men spoke for about 30 minutes.

“Early on, we were told that there was no bias, right?” he asked. “Just going back even maybe a couple of years – that it was just algorithms.
It was effectively automated in the back end of websites – really, you know, high-level, advanced math stuff that nobody needs to worry about.”
However, “case after case” following the continuous denial of responsibility revealed what Sexton calls “clear bias.”
Sexton made the case that major tech companies should have to follow regulations in the same way that the media is held accountable by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Florida man sentenced for threats against Christian organization on Facebook, tech giant ignored posts
The American Family Association (AFA), based in Tupelo, Miss., said it alerted Facebook of the threats from Chase Davis, 21, of Pompano Beach, but “was told that the threat was not a policy violation.”
AFA, which advocates for traditional family values and was listed as a “domestic hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center, also immediately reported the criminal threats to the United States Attorney’s Office.
The report resulted in an investigation by the FBI and a federal grand jury indictment in the Northern District of Mississippi in the summer of 2019.
Although Facebook’s “community standards” say the Silicon Valley-based tech company protects its users from “hate speech, credible threats, or direct attacks on an individual or a group,” the AFA said the site failed to act on their behalf in this case.
Facebook did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Federal agents to begin leaving Portland’s downtown: DHS, Oregon governor
Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf said in a statement that he and Brown have been in contact over the past 24 hours and reached a joint plan to end “the violent activity in Portland directed at federal properties and law enforcement officers.”
“That plan includes the robust presence of Oregon State Police in downtown Portland,” Wolf said.
“State and local law enforcement will begin securing properties and streets, especially those surrounding federal properties, that have been under nightly attack for the past two months.
Oregon State Police will coordinate with Federal Protective Service (FPS) officers to ensure all federal facilities remained protected and secure.”

Google has donated $140,939 to members of the House Judiciary Committee during the 2020 term. Google donated $96,939 to House Judiciary Democrats, and $44,000 to House Judiciary Republicans. $26,439 of the donations came from individuals, whereas $114,500 of the donations come from political action committees (PACs).

Polis sent a $1,000 donation on Monday to Antone Melton-Meaux, who is running against Omar in Minnesota’s Fifth Congressional District.
Melton-Meaux has attracted significant attention after raising $3.2 million last quarter, while the incumbent only took in $471,000.
The donation from Polis, who is Jewish, could signal a rejection of Omar’s rhetoric, which has included anti-Semitic tropes and anti-Israel conspiracy theories.

3) The Islamic Revolutionary Guards launched a naval military drill in the strategic Strait of Hormuz yesterday, dubbed the 14th Prophet, during which the IRGC conducted a hostile takeover of a mock-up aircraft carrier.
Iran launches underground ballistic missiles during exercise, aims at replica American aircraft carrier
Drone footage captured by the Guard showed two missiles blasting out from covered positions in the desert early Wednesday morning, with debris flying up into the air in their wake.
The Guard did not identify the location of the launch, nor the missiles involved, but it seemed to be near central Iran’s desert plateau.
Iran has developed and stored some of its ballistic missiles underground to protect them from being destroyed or seized by enemy countries.
The testing comes amid ongoing tension between Washington and Tehran, especially after the U.S. drone strike that killed top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani in January.
US announces plans to remove 12,000 troops from Germany, with half coming home
The moves, which will bring 6,400 American troops home and shift 5,600 elsewhere on the continent, are set to begin “within weeks,” according to Defense Secretary Mark Esper.
It also fulfills President Trump’s previously announced desire to withdraw troops from Germany, largely due to its failure to spend enough on defense.
“These changes will achieve the core principles of enhancing U.S. and NATO deterrence of Russia, strengthening NATO, reassuring allies and improving U.S. strategic flexibility,” Esper said.
Pakistani man on trial for blasphemy shot dead in court
Tahir Ahmad Naseem was killed by a man who shouted he was an “enemy of Islam” before opening fire.
Blasphemy is legally punishable by death in Pakistan, though no one has been executed for it. However, accusations of blasphemy have often led to violent attacks.
Naseem was first accused of blasphemy by a teenager named Awais Malik.
Naseem and Malik struck up a friendship online while Naseem was in the United States. Malik told the BBC that he and Naseem had met in person at a shopping mall in Pakistan to discuss his views on religion.
The conversation was alarming enough for Malik to go to the authorities and open a case against Naseem.
British family on vacation finds migrants hiding in their car’s rooftop cargo box
The two-minute clip, posted Tuesday on Twitter, shows the moment a British family made the startling find as they stopped at a gas station in Normandy, France.
A man then launched into a expletive-laced tirade as the migrant hopped off his car, knocking out what appeared to be a laptop computer, video shows.
The pair of migrants – identified as two 16-year-olds from Eritrea and Guinea, according to France’s The Local – then start to walk away as the family demands they empty their pockets while taking stock of their belongings, video shows.
Hong Kong students arrested under national security law
The four were detained for “inciting secession” on social media after the new law began on 1 July, police said.
A pro-independence group said those arrested included its former leader, Tony Chung.
Three men and a woman aged between 16 and 21 were arrested on suspicion of organising and inciting secession, police said.
“Our sources and investigation show that the group recently announced on social media to set up [sic] an organisation that advocates Hong Kong independence,” said Li Kwai-wah from the new national security unit inside Hong Kong police.
