Five years after a 12-person jury said it was “hopelessly deadlocked” and Judge William Walls declared “there is no alternative but to declare a mistrial,” federal prosecutors have reopened a corruption case involving Sen. Robert “Bob” Menendez (D-NJ).

Semafor was the first to break the story. Their report notes that federal authorities indicted Menendez and a Florida ophthalmologist, Salomon Melgen, in 2015 for an “alleged arrangement under which the doctor provided flights on a private jet and lavish vacations in exchange for the senator’s help with government contracts and other public favors.”

The New York Post reported federal authorities believed Menendez received substantial “political donations” and perks “in exchange for helping Melgen secure lucrative government contacts and visas for his…three foreign girlfriends.”

According to the outlet, federal prosecutors have contacted individuals associated with the previous trial and “an entirely different group of people.” Reportedly, federal officials have issued at least one subpoena in the new case.

Diesel Shortage Spreads Across East Coast as Goldman Sachs Issues Warning

Mansfield Energy is now requiring a 72-hour notice for deliveries to obtain freight and fuel “because conditions are rapidly devolving,” the firm told customers, according to Bloomberg News. Fuel prices are running 30 to 80 cents higher than the market average, the firm said.

“At times, carriers are having to visit multiple terminals to find supply, which delays deliveries and strains local trucking capacity,” the note said, referring to the market in Tennessee, which is “seeing particularly acute challenges.” The Epoch Times has contacted the firm for comment.

Recent provided by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) show that diesel stockpiles are at their lowest level for October in records that date back to 2008. The United States had about 25 days of supply as of Oct. 14, which is down from 34.2 days of supply from a month before.

Moderna Inc. is nearing a deal with the U.S. government to develop vaccines against a range of biological threats including Ebola, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The potential deal with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) would see Moderna’s mRNA technology being used to develop a vaccine targeting the Ebola strain responsible for the disease’s outbreak in Uganda, the report said.

Uganda declared the Ebola outbreak in September, and the disease has claimed 30 lives so far with the number of confirmed cases rising to 109.

The Bloomberg report said it was unlikely that Moderna’s candidate would be ready to use in time to address the burst of cases in Uganda.

Comer demands FBI give info on CCP-linked JiaQi Bao and Hunter BIden

In the letter obtained by DailyMail.com, Comer noted that ‘Bao provided Hunter insight into purchasing liquified natural gas reserves in the United States to sell to China,  had access to the Biden family’s financial information, and liaised with CCP-affiliated agents on the Bidens’ behalf.’

Comer is requesting by Nov. 9 the FBI hand over all documents and communications relating to Bao, all documents and correspondence provided to or by Thibault regarding the Hunter Biden investigation and everything regarding CEFC’s efforts to purchase American energy and infiltrate the Biden family.

Timothy Thibault, a top FBI agent accused of bias in handling the Hunter Biden investigation, resigned in August after whistleblowers alleged he slow-walked the probe and told agents ‘not to look into the laptop’ because he did not want an FBI investigation to interfere with the 2020 election.

Comer cited concerns that Bao’s alleged liaising between the CCP and the Biden family threatened national security and that Thibault ‘ignored information’ about Bao’s role in the Biden family business.

HS Football Coach Who Lost Job for Praying After Games to Be Reinstated

The decision comes after the U.S. Supreme Court in June ruled in Kennedy’s favor, 6-3, that the coach was protected by the Constitution when he knelt and prayed aloud at the 50-yard-line post-game, sometimes with his players.

A joint stipulation filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington stated that Kennedy “is to be reinstated to his previous position as assistant coach of the Bremerton High School football team on or before March 15, 2023.”

He is also entitled to reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs.

Lower courts for years had repeatedly sided with the Bremerton School District in the case. Kennedy said his routine typically lasted less than a minute and he insisted his prayers were brief, private, individual acts of faith.

The school district argued that student participation breached constitutional prohibitions against the promotion of religion by government officials.

“It’s really just his music, and his music doesn’t violate our policy,” said Ek, adding, “It’s up to his label, if they want to take action or not.”

Universal Music’s Def Jam label, which owns the copyright to West’s recordings from 2002 through 2016, has not asked to do so, according to Reuters.

Spotify’s position comes as a growing number of companies have severed their relationship with West and his businesses, including Adidas and Hollywood’s mega-talent agency CAAVogue magazine and the fashion house Balenciaga have also cut ties.

As Breitbart News reported, Hollywood superagent Ari Emanuel specifically called on music streaming services including Spotify and Apple to give West the boot.

“Foot Locker, Inc. does not tolerate any form of antisemitism, or hateful and discriminatory behavior,” a company spokesperson said.

“While we remain a partner with Adidas and carry a wide assortment of their collections—we will not be supporting any future Yeezy product drops, and we have instructed our retail operators to pull any existing product from our shelves and digital sites.”

New Home Sales Crash 10.9% as Higher Mortgage Rates Crater Demand

The estimates for the previous three months were revised down, indicating that the market was weaker than previously thought.

Compared with a year ago, new home sales are down 17.6 percent. Compared with September of 2019, the last comparable month prior to the pandemic, sales are down 16.1 percent.

Despite the large decline, sales exceeded expectations. Economists had forecast an annual pace of 585,000.

Sales surged in August after mortgage rates took a temporary dip in July and August, with the average rate on a 30-year mortgage falling from 5.81 percent in late June to 4.99 percent in early August.

Since then, however, rates have climbed sharply. This Mortgage Bankers Association reported Wednesday that the average rate on the 30-year fixed mortgage had hit 7.16 percent last week, the highest since 2001.

Family details horrific abuse at hands of female ISIS leader as judge weighs 20-year sentencing

Kansas native Allison Fluke-Ekren, 42, faces a possible 20-year sentence for her crimes, which include providing material support to Islamic State. She pleaded guilty to terrorism charges after admitting she led the Khatiba Nusaybah, an all-female battalion of the Islamic State comprised of around 100 women and girls.

However, the sentencing may rely on the “cruelty” of various kinds Fluke-Ekren allegedly engaged in with her own children.

One of Fluke-Ekren’s daughters claimed her mother would “beat my body, leaving my muscles cramping in agony.” “(She) would then go to her room and masturbate over the fact that she beat me. I could hear her from the other room,” the daughter said.

Fluke-Ekren’s son claimed his mother molested him, saying his mother is a “monster” who “enjoys torturing children for sexual pleasure.” “I know her and I know she wants to lie her way out of this, to get a slap on the wrist and try to use a sob story to once again get power and access to victims,” the son wrote.

Davidson County deputies arrested the child’s biological father, Jonathan Starr, stepmom, Sarah Starr, and his stepmom’s aunt, Shelly Barnes. (Davidson County Sheriff’s Office )

Search warrants show that an anonymous person called 911 just before 7 a.m. on Oct. 19 who told them about the child and said that her husband had taken the child some food “in the past.”

The child was found in a t-shirt, jeans and with no shoes on a night when temperatures reached below freezing. Deputies observed frost on the ground when they arrived. They broke into the padlocked kennel to get to the child for his safety.

The deputies saw a woman at the back door of the home holding a small child. She walked out of sight and turned the lights off, according to warrants.

The deputies secured the 9-year-old and then forced entry into the home, where they detained Sarah Starr, the little boy’s stepmother. She told deputies she did not know the combination to the lock on the kennel and that only her aunt, Shelley Barnes, knew it.

Arizona border port of entry nabs over 500,000 fentanyl pills in single weekend

CBP in Nogales, Arizona announced that on Saturday it stopped three loads of fentanyl, including 114,800 pills in a dashboard and 297,000 pills stashed in a car coming across the border.

On Sunday, agents stopped two more loads — including 134,200 pills found in the rocker panels of a car.

Combined, agents confiscated approximately half a million fentanyl pills, 60 pounds of meth and 10 pounds of cocaine during the busy weekend for agents.

Officials have warned of a spike in deaths linked to the illicit drug — which is 100 times more potent than morphine and can be fatal in small amounts.

The drug is created primarily in Mexico using precursors from China, and it is then transferred across the land border of the U.S.

Darrell Brooks, the 40-year-old Milwaukee man accused of plowing a Ford Escape SUV through a Christmas parade in nearby Waukesha last year, has been found guilty of six intentional first-degree homicide counts and other chargers – Wisconsin’s equivalent of murder – in a trial over the deaths of six and injuries to dozens more.

Brooks made several objections over “subject matter jurisdiction” before the jury returned. Judge Jennifer Dorow invited the jurors back. Brooks made a series of requests for documents, Dorow said they were noted and denied.

The decision came after a 23-day trial which saw the defendant, who was representing himself, ejected from the courtroom multiple times for disruptive behavior.

Judge Orders Unvaccinated New York City Employees Reinstated, Rules COVID-19 Firings Unconstitutional

The Big Apple mandated in 2021 that all city employees must receive a COVID-19 vaccine, rejecting requests for religious exemptions, such as from pro-life employees who objected to the vaccine because stem cell lines from aborted children were used in the vaccines’ development.

New York City fired all of those employees, including firefighters, police officers, and other first responders who had served fearlessly during the worst stages of the pandemic. Many of these employees formerly hailed as heroes had also contracted the disease and recovered, and cited their natural immunity antibodies as another reason to allow them not to be vaccinated.

Justice Ralph Porzio of the New York Supreme Court in Staten Island held that these terminations are illegal. (The name is misleading, because in New York’s court system, the lowest level of general jurisdiction courts is called the supreme court. It is simply the county court that conducts trials.) Specifically, Porzio held that the mandate is unconstitutional — for several reasons.

‘Criminal Neglect’: CDC Knew COVID Vaccine Could Cause Myocarditis In Young Males Months Before Telling The Public

In their study, Jablonowski and Hooker recorded and analyzed the increasing incidence of myocarditis as it progressively became a statistically significant “signal” in VAERS, the primary government-funded system for reporting adverse vaccine reactions in the U.S.

“It [myocarditis] became a discernible measure of harm over time, and here we show when it became statistically significant in the week of February 19, 2021,” the authors explained.

Only two months later, the VAERS data from the week of April 23, 2021, showed that the discerned level of myocarditis in young men following COVID-19 vaccination had increased to an extreme statistical level.

Despite this safety signal, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on May 10, 2021, expanded the Emergency Use Authorization of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine to individuals as young as 12 years old, and the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices voted to recommend that all that persons age 12 or older get the vaccine.

Covid Vax Biden Admin Docs Exposed!

Judicial Watch received 1,081 pages of records from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) detailing internal discussions about myocarditis and the COVID vaccine.

Other documents detail adverse “events for which a contributory effect of the vaccine could not be excluded.”

Chinese Donor, Fundraiser For NYC Mayor Eric Adams Worked Closely With Communist Party Influence Operation

A fundraiser and donor to New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ election campaign heads a non-profit that houses a Chinese overseas police station and works closely with Communist Party influence operations, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation found.

Lu Jianshun supported fundraising efforts for Adams through his role as the president of America Changle Association, an organization based in Manhattan’s Chinatown that caters to overseas Chinese from the Changle district of Fuzhou, Fujian province in China, the DCNF found.

Lu himself donated $4,000 to Adams’ mayoral campaign under the adopted name “James Lu” between 2019 and 2021, according to public campaign finance records.

America Changle is just one of many New York City associations that claim to “promote the prosperity” of Chinese immigrants. However, New York City Chinese human rights activists have raised the alarm over the group’s president’s support of Adams, noting the strong ties between America Changle and CCP-backed influence operations.

Trump PAC Hammers Warnock with TV Ad on Democrat’s Ex-Wife Problems

A super PAC backed by former President Donald Trump will air a television ad across Georgia beginning Wednesday that highlights past turmoil between Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) and his ex-wife.

MAGA Inc. is dedicating nearly $1 million to the ad launch, a figure that adds to the $1.6 million the group has already spent targeting Warnock.

The ad features bodycam footage of Warnock’s ex-wife, Ouleye Ndoye, telling Atlanta police Warnock is a “great actor.”

The now-viral comment, which Ndoye made in March 2020, occurred right after Ndoye reported to police that Warnock ran over her foot with a car, an accusation that Warnock has consistently denied. Despite Ndoye appearing distressed in the bodycam footage, a medical examiner later said that Ndoye’s foot showed no sign of injury.

Alaska GOP Censures McConnell for Backing Sen. Murkowski

The Alaska Republican Party voted to censure Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., on Monday due to his support of Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, The Washington Post reported.

The party’s 49-8 vote comes after it puts its support behind former President Donald Trump-endorsed Kelly Tshibaka, who has sought to challenge Murkowski from the right, highlighting her moderate record.

It also follows Murkowski’s recent decision to endorse Rep. Mary Peltola, D-Alaska, for reelection against her Republican opponents, former Gov. Sarah Palin and Nick Begich III.

Hillary’s Conspiracy Theory: GOP Already Plans ’24 Election Theft

“Right-wing extremists” have a plan already in place to “literally steal the next presidential election, and they’re not making a secret of it,” Hillary Clinton says in a video recently posted to Twitter.

In the video, posted by the progressive group Indivisible, the former first lady, senator from New York, secretary of state, and Democrat presidential nominee looks straight into the camera and says, “The right-wing-controlled Supreme Court may be poised to rule on giving state legislatures the power to overturn presidential elections.”

She is referring to Moore v. Harper, currently before the court, which involves a 2019 ruling by a panel of judges that invalidated what they called “extreme gerrymandering” by the GOP legislature.

Any change to pensions or a decision not to uprate benefits in line with inflation would draw new battle lines between Sunak and Conservative MPs, a number of whom have said they would not back cuts falling on the most vulnerable.

Sunak and the chancellor, Jeremy Hunt, also delayed the autumn statement for a further fortnight to give departments more time to find double-digit savings to fill an estimated £35bn black hole – balanced with further tax measures.

The Treasury has drawn up an initial menu of 70 tax-and-spend options, the Guardian understands.

Hunt will meet new cabinet ministers over the coming days to brief them about the fiscal situation and to discuss the effects on departments and the scale of cuts required.

The chancellor is understood to be planning a fiscal statement that balances spending cuts and tax rises 50/50, including a potential expansion of the windfall tax on oil and gas companies.

Qatar’s mandatory Covid app during the World Cup is scary as hell

Adding to the laundry list of rules foreigners will be required to follow while in Qatar is a new Covid app called “Ehteraz,” which must be downloaded by every visitor over the age of 18. It’s being billed as a way for officials to monitor a potential outbreak and aid with contact tracing. While that might sound innocuous enough, responsible even, there are some absolutely horrifying details coming out about the app.

Naturally it tracks location, which might cause you to pause, but understandable given the aim of the app to monitor Covid spread. However, it goes so, so much further. Øyvind Vasaasen, a security expert for Norwegian news outlet NRK examined what the Ehteraz app requires from users, and it defies belief.

  • Always on, GPS-aided tracking
  • Complete access to the phone, including the ability to read, erase, or modify data
  • Remote access to connect to WiFi and Bluetooth
  • The ability to override all other apps on the phone
  • Complete control ensuring the device can’t be turned off or made to sleep

Once a user downloads the Ehteraz app, again, which is mandatory upon entry to the country — Qatar essentially owns your device.

The first incident took place in the North Sea last week and saw an underwater fibre optic cable cut, shutting off the internet and mobile phone networking to the Shetland Islands, the northernmost islands of the United Kingdom for an entire night.

According to a report from French broadcaster BFMTV, a second fibre optic cable severing incident was reported by the security firm Zscaler, which claimed that damage had been detected at a fibre optic hub in Aix-en-Provence, near Marseille last week.

The security network claimed that three lines of the hub had been severed linking Marseille and Lyon, Marseille and Milan as well as Marseille and Barcelona, affecting internet access in Europe as well as Asia and the United States.

Zscaler commented on the incident on Twitter, stating, “Zscaler has discovered that a subsea Internet cable was severed in the south of France in an apparent act of vandalism.”

Misha Kuperman, senior vice president of global cloud operations at Zscaler has also claimed that French telecom operators have also privately concurred with the idea that the incident was the result of sabotage.

Children Who Identify as Transgender Likely Going Through a ‘Phase’, Says UK Health Service

Children displaying transgender tendencies are likely going through a “phase” that they may come out of as they age and therefore most should not be subjected to transition therapies, guidance from the United Kingdom’s NHS has stated.

In a potentially stark departure from years past, draft guidelines published by NHS England have called for stricter rules surrounding the treatment of allegedly transgender children under the age of 18, going so far as to warn doctors to not take the so-called gender-affirming approach of indulging youngsters in areas such as preferred pronouns.

The socialised healthcare system has also said that it plans to prohibit the use of puberty-blocking hormone therapies for children, with the exception of strictly monitored clinical trials, The Telegraph reported.

Despite officially leaving the European Union nearly three years ago, the United Kingdom will partner with the bloc on its “military mobility” unit so that it can move troops and weapons across the continent quicker, Dutch defence minister Kajsa Ollongren revealed.

While no official announcement from the British government has been made as of this reporting, Dutch Defence Minister  Kajsa Ollongren told the Times of London that he has been in talks with UK Defence Minister Ben Wallace and the agreement will likely be announced in Brussels next month.

Alongside Brexit Britian, Canada, Norway and the United States are also believed to be involved in the project.

Ollongren, speaking from a military base in England where British and Dutch personnel are currently training Ukrainian soldiers, said that the decision was “very much related to the war in Ukraine”.

Nina Shea: Chinese Marxism ‘Ruthlessly Denies’ Basic Human Rights

History/Universal Images Group via Getty

While asserting its intent to strengthen national security vis-à-vis China, an Oct. 12 U.S. National Security Strategy report fails to invoke the basic freedoms that undergird Western democracy and distinguish it from atheistic communism, namely freedom of speech, expression, and religion, and conscience, Shea notes.

“How strong is the U.S. policy commitment to defending these rights either at home or internationally?” Shea asks in a provocative essay in the National Catholic Register. “Will such rights be eclipsed by interests for climate change, investment and trade, and a withering domestic cancel culture?”

Shea makes specific reference to Chinese President Xi Jinping’s two-hour opening speech at last week’s 20th Chinese Communist Party Congress, in which he pledged to double down on “socialism with Chinese characteristics” and to galvanize “centralized, unified party leadership.”
