Boston Marathon debuts nonbinary division with 27 athletes competing
Vermont native Kae Ravichandran won the nonbinary division on Monday, finishing with a time of 2:38:56. Runner-up Cal Calamia, who wore a transgender patch on their singlet, said they heard spectators cheering for them all along the course.
‘To be able to do it in this way, in this category, makes it so much more special,’ said Calamia, who was running their sixth marathon and first Boston. ‘Knowing how much work has gone into getting this category — in a way, that was already a win.’
The Boston Athletic Association, which administers the prestigious marathon, announced the move in September, not just for the marathon, but for the BAA’s other races, including a 5K, a 10K and a half marathon.
Nonbinary athletes were allowed to submit entry applications if they’ve completed a marathon as a nonbinary participant during the current qualifying window. The organization’s online applications included ‘nonbinary’ as a gender option.
‘Discussions are ongoing with nonbinary athletes in an effort to further promote inclusion at all BAA events,’ the organization said in September, adding, ‘We view this first year as an opportunity to learn and grow together.’
California power companies roll out fixed-rate bill proposal

Pentagon issues warning about offshore wind projects, threatening Biden goals
The DOD said Monday that its initial assessment of areas the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has earmarked for new offshore wind development has revealed “compatibility challenges” with existing Navy and Air Force training facilities nearby.
The areas in question include offshore areas off the coasts of North Carolina, Delaware, Virginia, and Maryland.
The Pentagon “continues to work with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, industry, and other stakeholders to identify the best locations for development,” a DOD spokesperson told the Washington Examiner on Monday.
The Pentagon has previously described those areas as “highly problematic” to its operations and its ability to navigate around the turbines, according to Bloomberg.
The areas deemed of highest concern by the DOD span a “large portion” of potential lease areas off the coasts of Maryland and North Carolina. Other areas of concern included areas near its facilities, such as the Dare County bombing range in North Carolina and a Yorktown, Virginia, weapons station.
34 Officers of People’s Republic of China National Police Charged with Perpetrating Transnational Repression Scheme Targeting U.S. Residents
Today, a complaint was unsealed in federal court in Brooklyn charging 34 officers of the national police of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) – the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) – with harassing Chinese nationals residing in the New York metropolitan area and elsewhere in the United States.
The defendants allegedly perpetrated transnational repression schemes targeting U.S. residents whose political views and actions are disfavored by the PRC government, such as advocating for democracy in the PRC.
All the defendants are believed to reside in the PRC, and they remain at large.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation donates millions annually to a nongovernmental organization which claims that children are born sexual and should learn about “commercial sex work” under 10 years of age.
The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) – a separate entity from the U.S. nonprofit – wields significant influence on global sex education. The NGO comprises 120 independent organizations in over 146 countries and has received – including its European network – over $80M from Gates. Other significant donors included the World Health Organization.
“Sexual activity may be part of different types of relationships, including dating, marriage or commercial sex work, among others,” IPPF said about children under 10 should be taught, which was first flagged by Nicole Solas of the Independent Women’s Forum.
Children under 10 should also be told “As you grow up, you might start to be interested in people with diverse gender identities,” the toolkit said.

Madeline Brame appeared before the House Judiciary Committee’s field hearing in NYC on Monday, testifying about her son’s murder and the years-long court battle that followed. Brame blasted both Bragg’s handling of the case and the larger New York judicial system, saying millions of taxpayer dollars were being wasted even as crime spiked.
Bragg has left “all types of criminal elements free to do what they want, when they want, however they want, to whomever they want with no consequences–no deterrence,” Brame testified. “Millions and billions of our hard-earned taxpayer dollars are going to fund organizations that are doing absolutely nothing to deter this crime.”
Brame’s son, Hason Correa, was stabbed nine times in front of his father in 2018. His attackers were alleged to be Mary Saunders, her brother and another man. Prosecutors worked on the case for more than four years, but Bragg’s office was unable to prove that Saunders had knowingly assisted Correa’s murder.

Some 20,470 inpatient procedures were rescheduled, along with 175,755 outpatient appointments, making a total of 196,225.
An average of 26,145 staff per day were absent from work as a result of the industrial action.
However, NHS England says a high number of trusts haven’t reported their figures, so the stats provided so far are “not the full picture”.
The number of cancellations is the highest to hit the NHS since walkouts began in the long-running pay dispute.

In a joint mission with the German Air Force, RAF pilots intercepted the three Russian aircraft over the Gulf of Finland.
The RAF said one jet was identified as a Russian intelligence aircraft flying from mainland Russia to the Kaliningrad enclave, which lies near Poland.
It was met by two Russian fighter jets based in Kaliningrad, which flew with it south through the northwest area of the Estonian flight zone.
RAF and German Typhoons escorted the aircraft through the area before handing over to the Swedish Air Force.

Ukrainian Troops Inflict Catastrophic Losses Against Russia in Longest Running Battle
KYIV, Ukraine – Russia’s assault on the eastern Ukrainian town of Bakhmut has now become the longest-running battle in Russia’s ongoing invasion. Ukrainian forces have managed to hold the city and inflict catastrophic losses against all odds.
For more than seven months, Russian mercenaries and conscripts have been throwing everything they have at this small city, with some estimates putting the death toll as high as a thousand per day. Despite the heavy losses, Russia remained determined to take what’s left of Bakhmut, making slow gains at encircling it even as their constant shelling reduced their prize to rubble. What was a thriving city of 70,000 now lies in ruins.
Experts predicted a large winter offensive by Russia that never materialized. And as the spring thaw arrives, British intelligence suggests Russia is shifting to a defensive posture in eastern Ukraine, anticipating a massive counterattack.
Ukraine says it is finding more Chinese components in Russian weapons
In “the weapons recovered from the battlefield we continue to find different electronics,” said Vladyslav Vlasiuk, who advises the president’s chief of staff on sanctions policy.
“The trend is now that there is less Western-made components but more – not hard (to) guess which country – made components. Of course, China,” he said via a video call.
Intelligence gathered by Ukrainian experts from the battlefield and shared with Reuters stated that Chinese-made components were found in a navigation system in Orlan aerial drones that had previously used a Swiss system.
The experts also reported finding Chinese parts in the fire control system in Russian tanks that had earlier used French-made parts.
Vlasiuk said that Ukraine was able to identify some manufacturers or suppliers and share that information with Western allies.
He named China North Industries Group (Norinco), a Chinese weapons maker, as one supplier and military supplier Xinxing Guangzhou Import & Export Co as another, without saying what they had supplied.
A member of staff at Norinco, who declined to give their name, said the company was “not providing military equipment components to Russia”.

New UN-backed legal recommendations normalize sex with minors, outraged critics say
A shocking report issued by international legal experts with the backing of the United Nations appears to open the floodgates to normalize sex with minors.
“Sexual conduct involving persons below the domestically prescribed minimum age of consent to sex may be consensual in fact, if not in law,” the Geneva-based International Commission of Jurists wrote in March with an assist from UNAIDS and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
The report is titled “The 8 March Principles for a Human Rights-Based Approach to Criminal Law Proscribing Conduct Associated with Sex, Reproduction, Drug Use, HIV, Homelessness and Poverty.”
“According to the United Nations, children may consent to sex with adults. This has been the plan all along,” social media influencer Ian Miles Cheong tweeted over the weekend to his 538,000 followers.
The report does not offer a suggested age of sexual consent.
It was released on March 8 in recognition of International Women’s Day, the commission states online, suggesting there is a connection between women’s rights and age of sexual consent.
The once-unthinkable recommendations from an international cabal of global elite legal minds appears to suggest that pedophilia could be normalized.

Senior Senate Republicans are warning they will block Democrats from sliding Sen. Dianne Feinstein out of her Judiciary Committee role amid demands that she resign due to her advanced age.
Following calls for the longtime California Democrat to step down as she continues to miss votes with a case of shingles, party leaders made arrangements to get her off the panel so that majority Democrats can keep confirming federal judges through the narrowly divided Senate.
But any change requires Republicans to go along, and Arkansas GOP Sen. Tom Cotton made his own views known over the weekend.
‘Republicans should not assist Democrats in confirming Joe Biden‘s most radical nominees to the courts,’ he wrote, tweeting and article in the conservative publication The Federalist which argued there was ‘zero reason’ for them to assist.
Cotton’s hardline stance came as senators were returning to Washington after a recess, after a prominent Democrat again called on Feinstein to step down.

House will vote soon to cap federal spending at 2022 level, raise debt limit for one year: McCarthy
Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., said Monday that House Republicans will vote on a bill “in the coming weeks” to lift the debt ceiling for one year while capping federal spending at the fiscal year 2022 level.
Addressing business leaders at the New York Stock Exchange, the California Republican also said the bill would limit subsequent spending increases to just 1% per year over a decade.
“Let me be clear: a no-strings-attached debt limit increase cannot pass. But since the president continues to hide, House Republicans will take action,” McCarthy said, noting the White House’s refusal to negotiate a package that includes a debt ceiling hike and spending limits.
“Here’s our plan: In the coming weeks, the House will vote on a bill to lift the debt ceiling into next year, save taxpayers trillions of dollars, make us less dependent on China, and curb high inflation — all without touching Social Security or Medicare,” he said. “Simply put, it puts us on a responsible fiscal path in three ways: limit, save, and grow.”

Latest Hunter bombshell: Here’s the kind of access his partners had to VP Joe Biden
The president’s repeated insistence that he never discussed with Hunter his overseas business dealings, let alone with his partners, is belied by indisputable evidence that has grown exponentially over time. Yet, the elder Biden maintains the ludicrous charade. No reasonably intelligent person believes him.
Recently, Fox News uncovered records showing that Hunter’s associates in his suspected influence-peddling schemes frequented the White House more than 80 times when his father was vice president.
A top executive in the son’s now-defunct investment firm logged at least 17 visits. Another partner seems to have taken up residency there with 27 appointments. Are we to believe they merely chatted about the weather? Hardly.
Authenticated emails confirm that Joe Biden attended numerous meetings and dinners with many of Hunter’s foreign investors and business partners.
Photographs corroborate it, and there are messages thanking Hunter for arranging meetings with his dad. The two flew aboard Air Force Two together to China, where Joe met with his son’s business cohorts. Just days later Hunter cemented a lucrative venture with a Beijing investment firm, BHR Partners.
