US News:
Rioter charged in Pelosi laptop theft sentenced to prison
Riley June Williams, 23, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was charged but not convicted of helping steal a laptop from Pelosi’s office suite during the riot on Jan. 6, 2021.
A federal jury convicted Williams in November of six charges, including a felony count of civil disorder, after a two-week trial.
But it deadlocked on two other counts, including “aiding and abetting” the laptop’s theft.
Jurors also deadlocked on a charge of obstructing an official proceeding, the Jan. 6 joint session of Congress for certifying President Joe Biden’s 2020 electoral victory.
Prosecutors had asked U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson to sentence Williams to seven years and three months in prison.

The grand jury meets on various cases on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, meaning the earliest an indictment decision could come down is after the weekend.

California man arrested 10 times in 31 days drove to police station in stolen car to pick up property: cops
Officers located the stolen truck and “initiated a high-risk traffic stop” right outside the Clovis Police Department building around 9:30 a.m. PT Thursday.
They arrested Chastain without further incident.
“He was the only person in the stolen truck and was actually on his way to pick up his personal property from our department when he was arrested,” police said.
Between mid-February and this week, police say he racked up 18 felony charges and 15 misdemeanors. The cases involve six stolen cars, DUI, drugs, vandalism and fraud.

Texas Border Sector Reports 10K Known Border Crossers in Single Week
The weekly update reports the apprehension of 5,571 migrants between March 12 and 18.
In addition, officials reported 4.433 migrants to be known got-aways. These are migrants who were observed crossing the border or otherwise counted as having crossed without being apprehended.
This represents more than 44 percent of the 10,004 known border crossers. This does not include migrants who crossed without being observed.
Included in the migrant apprehensions are six criminal aliens.
These include one sex offender, two criminal re-entry of a deported migrant, two with convictions for drug trafficking, and one with an assault conviction.
California man with history of violence against women killed ex-girlfriend while on bond: cops
The 36-year-old has a history of violence against women, according to court records obtained by USA Today.
A woman in a previous relationship filed a restraining order in September that alleged multiple violent incidents in three states.
There was an alleged attack and rape of her and her friend in April 2022, a violent encounter in Las Vegas in May 2022, and an alleged assault in Arizona that put her in the hospital in August 2021, USA Today reported.
“Detectives believe Romo has assaulted other women in the past and are asking for anyone with previous contact with Romo to come forward,” Anaheim police said.
Texas man killed after meeting potential car buyers online, going for test drive: police
Detectives learned that Hamdan was helping a family member sell a car using a social media app and connected with an individual who expressed interest in purchasing the vehicle, police said. Handan had agreed to go for a test drive in the evening with the potential buyer.
Detectives are working to identify the suspects and released surveillance images of them walking away from the car they had just abandoned.
Authorities asked anyone with information about the suspects to call the department. Oak Farms Dairy has also offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

In the video, the suspect can be seen sneaking up behind two individuals as they walk through a parking lot before the thief pulls out a gun and points it at the pair.
The couple was on a date in front of Jaragua, a Salvadoran restaurant in the Koreatown neighborhood of Los Angeles, according to KTLA.
The suspect is described as a Black male standing 6 feet tall, weighing 180 to 190 pounds and between the age of 30 to 35. He is said to have black hair and brown eyes.
Houston teen accused of paralyzing woman in ‘jugging’ robbery has $200,000 bond cut in half
Joseph Harrell, 17, was arrested last week after police released surveillance video of the incident, in which Harrell allegedly followed the victim 24 miles from a bank before bodyslamming her to the ground and stealing $4,300 in cash she had just withdrawn.
After his arrest for aggravated robbery, prosecutors asked for a $200,00 bond, citing the fact that he had just been released on a $100 bond on Jan. 26 for an unlawful carrying of a weapon charge.
Aside from the aggravated robbery on Feb. 13 and unlawful carrying of a weapon charge on Jan. 26, Harrell is also facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon stemming from another incident on Feb. 25.

The newspaper reported the reluctance of the Dutch Ministry of Justice and the Veldzicht clinic to disclose any details about the attacker’s background, although it has been widely acknowledged the man suffered from a serious psychiatric disorder.
However, sources close to the investigation have been able to shed more light on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The attacker was known as 31-year-old Ambrose Joy Lucky, who was born in Nigeria but traveled to Europe in 2017. He first embarked on the Mediterranean migratory route from Libya to reach Italy where his asylum application was rejected.
Authorities, however, failed to deport the man who soon left Italy and traveled through Austria and Germany before arriving in the Netherlands where he attempted once more to claim asylum.
