DOJ Claims Trump Tweet Started Jan 6, But Bodycam Suggests Tear Gas Sparked Crowd
That tweet, according to the Department of Justice, the partisan January 6 committee, and its media allies, was the catalyst that made the crowd push through police lines at the Capitol building near the inaugural stage.
At 2:26 p.m., two minutes after Trump’s tweet, Pence was evacuated to a secure location within the Capitol building, and protesters pushed forward.
However, newly released Justice Department bodycam video shows law enforcement officers shooting tear gas toward the front lines of the crowd at this exact time.
In the mayhem, the officers retreat from the crowd of now-agitated protesters.

In a joint letter, Warren and Mendez asked the Treasury and the DOJ to intervene by providing guidance for card companies to adopt the new MCC to track gun purchases.
Senate Renews Push To Send F-16 Jets To Ukraine
Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) has headed the bipartisan effort. The lawmakers are also pressuring the Pentagon for more information regarding what the timetable would need to be and what resources it would take to train Ukrainian pilots to fly the F-16s if the administration agrees to send the jets.
Joining Senator Kelly in the renewed effort are Democratic senators Tammy Duckworth (IL), Tim Kaine (VA), Martin Heinrich (NM), and Jacky Rosen (NV). Also backing the letter were Republican senators Lisa Murkowski (AK), Tommy Tuberville (AL), and Ted Budd (NC).
The Biden administration and defense officials, however, are still insistent that anti-air defense systems, artillery, and ammunition rank higher on the list of priorities for Ukraine and even testified to Congress recently regarding the same.
In addition to the 8 senators who drafted the letter, other Congressmen are also pushing for more, including Republicans Tom Cotton and Lindsay Graham.

Across multiple ridings, a similar pattern emerged: Conservative candidates received significantly fewer supporters coming to the polls. However, the Liberals did not see significant gains because many voters did not vote.

Dutch farmers’ party secures landslide victory
In a long voting day, with locations from repurposed drive-through testing centres to ancient churches, an estimated 61% of Dutch people turned out.
The result was astonishing, even though the party has been creeping up the polls, feeding on anti-establishment feeling after unpopular Covid lockdowns.
Some analysts saw the election as a fight between two ‘moods’ in the Netherlands: a mood of (Right-wing) discontent, echoed also across other countries, versus the traditional consensus-driven Dutch mood.
With 18 parties in parliament, politicians have typically found a way to muddle along, but this election was different thanks to the thorny issue of nitrogen compound pollution, which is tying the country in knots before a bill has even passed through parliament.

Prepare for governments to push CBDCs in the wake of the Silicon Valley Bank collapse
Governments are likely to seize upon and amplify these fears of social media bank runs as they push new regulations and proposals in the wake of the Silicon Valley Bank collapse. And they’re likely to position CBDCs as the solution.
Be on the lookout for suggestions from officials that CBDCs are “safe” and immune to social media bank runs.
While such promises may soothe citizens’ fear of bank runs, this fear will be replaced with something far worse for those that embrace CBDCs — programmable money that allows the government to dictate when, where, or if citizens can spend their money.
