Mexico Spring Break warning after kidnap of four Americans: US lists country on strongest possible ‘do not travel’ alert but travel interest TRIPLES

As spring breakers pack their bikinis and sunglasses to hit the beach in Mexico, the US government is urging citizens to avoid cartel hotspots amid a spike in violence.
Four Americans were kidnapped and two butchered Friday in the border town of Matamoros in the latest stark reminder that a bloody drug war rages behind the glamorous façade of the country’s sun-drenched resorts.
But despite the spiraling cartel violence, travel agents are reporting a post-pandemic boom with bookings trebling on pre-2020 numbers.
Growing Number of Jan. 6 Defendants Ask Judges to Delay Trials in Light of Newly Released Footage

Another defendant, Sara Carpenter, saw her request to delay her trial in light of the recent developments denied.
U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, the Obama appointee overseeing the case, rejected the motion during a March 3 hearing.
Rachel Powell, another Jan. 6 defendant, who is facing more than half a dozen charges, said that she has not received evidence crucial to her case.
McCarthy had told reporters that defendants had access to footage before.
“I am a J6 defendant and have not gotten my evidence even though it has been over two years,” Powell told The Epoch Times via email. “So when McCarthy says January 6 defendants have had access to the evidence he is wrong and possibly lying.”
She was preparing a motion to delay her trial.
William Shipley, a lawyer representing multiple defendants, said on Twitter that attorneys have access to thousands of hours of footage but noted the Department of Justice demanded, and received, protective orders over all videos, which prevented public release.
“The videos could only be released if they were used in court. So who used them in court? The Govt when it asks for defendants to be detained without bond, or other various types of pretrial proceedings,” Shipley said. “So DOJ could pick and choose what it wanted the public to see and what would be reported in the press. That allowed DOJ to set the ‘narrative’ through the media about what happened on Jan 6, while defendants couldn’t release any video to establish a counter-narrative.”

Washington teachers to face lay-offs after progressive policies push students out of public schools

The largest public school district in Washington state has begun informing employees that they might be laid off in the 2023-24 school year due to a massive budget crisis in the wake of plummeting enrollment, a result of long school closures in response to the pandemic, as well as parental concerns over safety and radical curriculum being taught to their children, while special education services, gifted tracks, and STEM programs were cut.
The Seattle Public School district is projecting budget shortfalls of approximately $131 million in the 2023-24 school year and about $92 million in the 2024-25 school year.
Washington public schools, especially in Seattle, received millions in funding in Covid funding, but tracking of those funds has been almost non-existent.

NYC spends $10 MILLION per day to house, feed illegal immigrants: report

The city’s Emergency Management Commissioner, Zach Iscol, disclosed the high cost during a City Council panel meeting, where he said that the Department of Homeless Services and Health & Hospital spent, on average, reports the New York Post, $363 per day for a single illegal migrant’s shelter and food.
Over 30,000 illegal migrants are currently housed in the city’s taxpayer-funded facilities, the Post reported, with that bill amounting to over $10 million, per day.
City Hall told the Post “there are 12,700 households currently in our care,” with the minimum daily cost of taking care of the illegal immigrants being placed at $4,622,800.
Iscol warned the City Council’s Committee on Contracts that the city is at the end of its resources, and the situation is not sustainable.

(REPORT) Medicare brokers may be incentivized to encourage wrong coverage for beneficiaries

Agents and brokers who sell Medicare plan coverage often steer their clients to a Medicare Advantage (MA) plan because it earns them a higher commission compared with a Medigap supplemental plan with traditional Medicare that might better serve the beneficiary’s needs.
That’s the finding from a new Commonwealth Fund report that was based on responses from more than two dozen sellers of MA, Medigap supplemental, and Part D plans who participated in focus groups the fund organized in September 2022.
For example, one California broker was extremely candid: “A lot of times … you’re pushing an Advantage plan when someone wants a freedom of choice [of doctor], which would be a supplement plan,” the report said.
THESE videos PROVE the January 6th committee LIED TO US
Fox News’ Tucker Carlson began unveiling previously unseen January 6th footage last night, which was provided to him by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
And the videos PROVE that the congressional January 6th committee, which released its final report last December, LIED TO US ALL.
In this clip, Glenn shows some of Tucker’s footage, explaining the lies it proves.
So, will those Americans imprisoned based on the committee’s findings receive a new trial? Or is our fair legal system completely over?
‘If every American — Democrat, Republican, Independent — isn’t outraged by what our government has just done,’ Glenn says, ‘there is no hope for you. America is lost to you.’

Trump Responds After Tucker Carlson Releases Jan. 6 Footage: ‘Totally Innocent’

Former President Donald Trump praised Fox News and host Tucker Carlson for airing footage of the Jan. 6 protest and breach of the Capitol in Washington D.C.
The previously suppressed footage indicates the event was not the violent insurrection portrayed by the Jan. 6 House Select Committee and many Left-leaning legacy media outlets.
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and the Democrat-led Select Committee had denied Conservatives access to the thousands of hours of Capitol grounds surveillance footage. In February, new Speaker Kevin McCarthy made good on his vow to release more than 40,000 hours of surveillance video to Fox News’s Tucker Carlson.
Carlson presented the first installment of what will likely be a series of reveals during Monday’s broadcast of “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” Carlson claimed the footage “proves lawmakers and the media were lying about the events that took place on Jan. 6.”
Many have repudiated Jan. 6 Select Committee claims. In a stinging rebuke, several Committee members lost their bids for reelection in November’s election.
Trump leads right-wing praise of Jan. 6 Capitol riot footage release

AP
Former President Donald Trump called Tuesday for the release of everyone arrested in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot after the release of never-before-seen surveillance footage from that day.
“Let the January 6 prisoners go. They were convicted, or are awaiting trial, based on a giant lie, a radical left con job,” Trump, 76, raged on his Truth Social platform. “New video footage is irrefutable.”
Included in the clips that aired on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Monday was footage of two Capitol Police officers appearing to escort Jacob Chansley, the so-called “QAnon Shaman,” through the halls outside the Senate chamber.
Footage shows Capitol cop Brian Sicknick uninjured on Jan. 6

Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick still is described as a victim of January 6, murdered by President Donald Trump supporters rioting at the Capitol, despite an autopsy report which shows he died of a stroke the following day.
The New York Times initially reported that Sicknick had been beaten to death with a fire extinguisher, before retracting the claim more than a month later.
To this day, media accounts claim Sicknick was “slain” on Jan. 6, and powerful Democrats, including Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Nancy Pelosi, have continued to cite his death as evidence of a “deadly insurrection” at the Capitol that day.
But hitherto unseen surveillance footage from inside the Capitol, aired by Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Monday night, contradicts that claim.
Two of the four Americans kidnapped after shootout in Mexico found dead

The group of friends had traveled to Mexico for a cosmetic medical procedure when they were shot at and forced into the back of a pickup truck, according to relatives.
McGee was scheduled for a tummy tuck surgery on the day of the kidnapping, said her mother, Barbara Burgess. Her pals had accompanied her on the trip.
A Mexican official told Reuters Tuesday that two of the men were found dead, while a woman and the third male friend are alive.
Tucker Carlson releases exclusive Jan. 6 footage, says politicians, media lied about Sicknick, ‘QAnon Shaman’

The first batch of footage showed Trump supporters peacefully touring the building, “sightseers” as Carlson put it, but the footage of the rioters overwhelmingly consumed the news coverage of Jan. 6, which many in D.C. have compared to 9/11 and the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Capitol police officers were seen escorting Jacob Chansley, a Navy veteran widely referred to in the liberal media as the “QAnon Shaman,” around the building without incident.
Carlson reported that officers were seen showing Chansley around, even trying to open locked doors for him.
At one point, at least nine police officers were seen in close proximity to Chansley, and none of them slowed him down, as Carlson noted.

Sweden: Migrant man who stabbed 10-year-old Dutch girl has 52 crimes on his record

The Iranian migrant who attempted to murder a 10-year-old Dutch girl in Gothenburg last week has been identified as Milad Salari, who has a tremendous 52 convictions on his record, including theft, assault, robbery and drug offenses. Despite violating his parole on numerous occasions, Swedish judges continuously issued him new parole terms, which allowed him to avoid prison.
It is unclear why he targeted her, but pedestrians claim he screamed “Allahu Akbar” during the incident.
The tremendous amount of criminal convictions and citations on the man’s record — and the fact that he was free to try and murder a child — is being pointed to as an example of the horrific migrant crime Sweden has been exposed to in recent years, which has led to a record number of murders and shootings.
After his arrest on Thursday, Salari reportedly assaulted police officers inside the police station, according to Expressen.

After Tunisian president says immigration is ‘plot’ to change demographics in Tunisia, hundreds of Sub-Saharan Africans are flown out

Hundreds of Sub-Saharan African migrants are reportedly being flown out of the country shortly after Tunisian President Kais Saied said that Tunisia was facing an immigration crisis, which he described as a “plot” by foreign actors and nations designed to change Tunisia’s demographics and dilute its Arab and Islamic heritage.
About 300 Ivorians and Malians were repatriated on March 4, with the embassies that arranged their flights home stating that their citizens are being subjected to attacks following the president’s speech. Other African embassies are also reportedly flying out their citizens.
According to French newspaper La Croix, “the presidential speech had the effect of triggering a wave of attacks on Sub-Saharans, who rushed by the dozens to their embassies to be repatriated.”
German anti-woke politician Sahra Wagenknecht leaves Left Party, may form her own political party

Although many may be unfamiliar with Sahra Wagenknecht outside of Germany, she often dominates the political discourse within the country. Known as being anti-woke, skeptical of immigration, and opposed to sending weapons to Ukraine, she became increasingly popular with German voters even if at the same time, a sizeable faction of the Left Party’s leadership wanted her gone.
Now, following Wagenknecht’s announcement that she will no longer run for the Left Party (Die Linke) after this legislative period, the party’s leaders have signaled their relief.
“She hasn’t been doing politics for the left for a long time,” said party deputy leader Katina Schubert. She said that Wagenknecht “has been working on her own account for a long time,” and her whole business model is “to agitate against the party, her whole book is based on it.”
GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy wants to fire ‘at least half the federal workforce’

Arguing that a lot of the U.S. government’s “civil service protections” for federal employees are unconstitutional, entrepreneur and 2024 GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has vowed to end public sector unions.
“I take a strong view of Article Two of the Constitution,” Ramaswamy said in an interview at CPAC. “It says the president of the United States runs the federal government, runs specifically the executive branch of the federal government. That means, I think, a lot of those civil service protections are unconstitutional.”
Article Two allows the U.S. president to “deliver on what the person who runs the country does,” which is to oversee the federal workforce and fire government employees if necessary.
“I actually would just proceed with shutting down agencies, with firing a good portion of the federal workforce,” he said. “I think it’s going to be at least half the federal workforce. And will that end up in litigation? It will. But I think this Supreme Court, that this has not always been true, but I think this Supreme Court shares that view of Article Two.
Biden FCC pick withdraws from consideration

Gigi Sohn, President Joe Biden’s nominee to join the Federal Communications Commission, withdrew her name from consideration on Tuesday citing her stalled nomination and the political attacks against her stemming from it.
Biden nominated Sohn roughly two years ago, though the nomination stalled. She previously was a top aide to former FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler and Democrats had touted her relevant experience, though Republicans found her too far to the left to be palatable.
The FCC is currently gridlocked 2-2 with one seat vacant. Sohn lamented that lobbyist efforts had succeeded in keeping her from assuming the post.
McConnell says Fox News made ‘a mistake’ by underplaying violence of Jan. 6

McConnell told reporters that he endorsed Police Chief Tom Manger’s criticism that Fox host Tucker Carlson “cherry-picked” calmer moments from the violent day failed to provide context about the chaos and violence that happened in the Capitol.
“I want to associate myself entirely with the opinion of the chief of the Capitol police about what happened on Jan. 6,” McConnell told reporters Tuesday, holding up a copy of the police chief’s statement.
McConnell said “my concern is how it was depicted” on Carlson’s highly rated show.
“Clearly the chief of the Capitol Police, in my view, correctly described what most of us witnessed first hand on Jan. 6,” he said.
