‘Twisted teen’ Aiden Fucci apologizes as he pleads guilty to murdering cheerleader classmate, 13, by stabbing her 114 times:

Aiden Fucci, now 16, confessed on Monday to first-degree murder of then 13-year-old Tristyn Bailey on Mother’s Day 2021.

Surveillance footage previously showed Fucci and Bailey walking together down a dim residential street moments before her death as they headed to the woods. Fucci was then seen running alone barefoot at around 2am.

‘I just want to say I plead guilty and I’m sorry for the Bailey family and my family,’ Fucci, 16, told prosecutors in St. Augustine, according to AP.

Fucci will likely be sentenced in the spring and faces a minimum of 40 years in prison.

Suspected prostitution ring moves into CA neighborhood outside Catholic school: ‘Pimp is blocking my driveway’

California state Sen. Scott Wiener. (Scott Wiener )

Vargas said the women are typically wearing skimpy outfits, even sometimes naked, and often standing right in front of the gate of the school. Pimps have even followed Vargas down the street on a couple of occasions, she said.

Rodney Pierre-Antoine, who oversees a network of local Catholic elementary schools, including St. Anthony’s, said police are left in a tough spot to take care of the situation, citing a recently-enacted bill that prohibits officers from arresting people on the suspicion of prostitution.

The bill, authored by Democratic state Sen. Scott Wiener, was aimed at protecting transgender women who Wiener said are disproportionately targeted by police. The law took effect on Jan. 1.

Local police have since sounded off that the bill prevents them from rescuing young girls who have been trafficked, ABC 7 reported.

Mexican Cartel-Style Violence Spreading in California over Marijuana Grow Fields

Noah David Beard, 25, of Visalia is arrested early Friday. He and Angel “Nanu” Uriarte, 35, are accused of killing six people in the Central Valley farm town of Goshen. (Tulare County Sheriff’s Office)

This week, federal authorities clashed with one of two gunmen who are accused of killing a family of six — including a 16-year-old female and her baby. The murders took place last month in Tulare County, California, in what some authorities have dubbed a cartel killing.

On early Friday morning, federal agents arrested Noah David Beard, 25, and Angel “Nanu” Uriarte, 35, the Los Angeles Times reported. The article identified both men as Sureno Gang members.

Uriarte clashed with federal agents in a gun battle. He sustained multipole injuries and had to undergo surgery. He is expected to survive. Authorities arrested Beard without a shootout.

The two men are facing six murder charges and several enhancements filed by the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office over the January 16 mass killing.

Authorities also carried out several raids at homes and prison cells targeting the Nuestra Familia gang. Both the Nuestra Familia and the Surenos have a history of working with Mexican drug cartels.

Texas threatens to sue Biden over ‘unlawful, top-down’ eco rules threatening farmers, energy producers

 (Drew Angerer/Getty Images)

Texas became the latest state Monday threatening to sue the Biden administration over a conservation rule that could harm landowners, farmers and energy producers across five states.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office filed a notice of intent with the Department of the Interior (DOI) and Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) over a recent regulation protecting the Lesser Prairie-Chicken, a species the rule lists as threatened in some parts of Texas and endangered in other regions in the state. The attorney general alleged that the regulation violates federal law, fails to consider the state’s conservation measures and would prove to be onerous for state property owners.

“I will not tolerate the Biden Administration’s efforts to run roughshod over the property rights of Texans and to stop our conservation efforts aimed at protecting Texas wildlife,” Paxton said in a statement.

Smith and transgender singer Kim Petras delivered a raunchy performance of “Unholy,” during the music awards show, which was blasted by conservatives on Twitter. Smith was dressed as the devil while dancers acting like demons seemed to bow down in worship.

The strange tweet drew eyeballs Monday morning. Several people expressed disbelief the tweet was real while others characterized the tweet as a sign of the times.

Music video producer and director Robby Starbuck called the tweet an admission CBS was “compromised by evil.”

Twitter flagged a Sunday tweet from President Biden that claimed Republicans are threatening to cut Social Security and Medicare – a message the White House has pushed amid debt ceiling negotiations, but one that several Twitter users said needs more “context.”

“House Republicans are threatening to cut Social Security and Medicare, putting the dignity of millions of Americans who rely on these programs at risk,” Biden tweeted. “I won’t stand for that. We ought to strengthen these programs – not gut them.”

But underneath that message, Twitter inserted a reader context note clarifying that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., “said ahead of a meeting with President Biden this week that cuts to Medicare and Social Security are off the table in talks around raising the debt limit.”

(STUDY) Merck’s Covid pill linked to creation of new Covid mutations

Merck & Co.’s Covid-19 pill is giving rise to new mutations of the virus in some patients, according to a study that underscores the risk of trying to intentionally alter the pathogen’s genetic code.

Some researchers worry the drug may create more contagious or health-threatening variations of Covid, which has killed more than 6.8 million people globally over the past three years.

Mutations linked to the use of Merck’s pill, Lagevrio, have been identified in viral samples taken from dozens of patients, according to a preprint study from researchers in the US and at the Francis Crick Institute, Imperial College London and other UK institutions.

NYC teachers fired over COVID vaccine outraged by no mandate for migrants: ‘Illegal, unethical and insane’

Two New York City educators fired last year for refusing the COVID-19 shot called out the “unethical” double standard as migrants attend city schools without proof of required vaccinations.

Cassey McFadden, who served as a math teacher in Brooklyn for 25 years, came out of retirement during the pandemic to help the city’s teacher shortage but was fired for her vaccine stance. She told “Fox & Friends First” Monday that the entire city should be in “uproar” over the double standard.

“It’s illegal, it’s unethical and it’s insane,” McFadden said. “They’re actually risking the safety of all New Yorkers. You can’t have one policy for one group and another policy for another group.”

A 15-year-old girl has been arrested for a shocking murder in which an accelerant was used to start a blaze in a Bronx boarding house that killed a stranger, according to cops.

The girl had a dispute with someone living in the rooming house — but not with the 27-year-old man who died in the fire after it grew out of control — police said.

Cop sources described the suspect as a chronic runaway who lives in Canandaigua, a small town near Rochester.

The victim was identified Sunday as Abdoukarim Sakolly. He died at the scene.

Man Who Identifies as a Woman Elected to Lead Democrat Women’s Group in Rhode Island

A 75-year-old trans-identified male has won in an unopposed race for Chair of the Rhode Island Democratic Women’s Caucus.

The Rev. Donnie Anderson won an uncontested race to become the leader of the Democrat women’s group despite not being a woman.

When running for the position, Anderson told the group

“If you choose me to be your next executive, you will make a statement to the world about my community.” He added “I don’t want you to vote for me because I am transgender,” going on to say, “Please don’t do that. And I hope you won’t vote against me because I am transgender either.”

“There are young people and adults who live so deeply in the shadows they are almost unknown, because they don’t see people like them in public positions,” Anderson remarked when making his pitch.

Political writer and strategist Natasha Chart spoke to Breitbart News about the situation, remarking that “it’s always sad when yet another women’s group is pressured into letting a transvestite take over senior leadership, out of fear they’ll be called bigots for not pretending to think he’s a woman.”

Public Health Emergency Declaration on Abortion Not Off the Table for Biden Administration

Emily Elconin/Getty Images

According to Becerra, that option — an emergency declaration — is not completely off the table.

“There are discussions on a wide range of measures … that we can take to try to protect people’s rights,” Becerra told Axios, explaining that there are “certain criteria that you look for to be able to declare a public health emergency.”

“That’s typically done by scientists and those that are professionals in those fields who will tell us whether we are in a state of emergency and based on that, I have the ability to make a declaration,” he continued, explaining that there is still “an evaluation” of that issue, although he said a “full assessment” has not been conducted.

The push for an emergency declaration on abortion comes as pro-abortion activists become more emboldened in their support and push for abortion.

Uzbekistan’s Prosecutor-General’s Office said on February 6 that Shamshetov, 45, had died two days earlier of a “thromboembolism of the pulmonary artery and acute heart failure.”

Self-exiled Karakalpak activists said over the weekend that Shamshetov might have been tortured to death in custody and demanded a thorough investigation of Shamshetov’s death.

Nicolás Maduro Regime Defends Chinese Spy Balloon, Claims Venezuela Full of U.S. ‘Spy Planes’

Matias Delacroix/Bloomberg via Getty Images

Dictator Nicolás Maduro’s regime, which is heavily indebted to communist China, claimed the balloon “did not represent any threat” to the United States.

In its statement, the Maduro regime echoed the Chinese government line that the balloon was “of a civilian nature” and that it had landed in American airspace as a result of “technical failure.”

“The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela rejects the attack by the United States against an unmanned aircraft of Chinese origin of civilian nature that had shown a technical failure and did not represent any military or physical threat against people on the ground,” the statement read.

Venezuela’s defense minister, Vladimir Padrino López, described the shooting down of the Chinese balloon as “cynicism” as well, as, according to him, Venezuela has been “systematically provoked” and its territorial sovereignty “violated” by the United States.

Chilean firefighters were battling to hold back forest fires on Monday as authorities said hot and dry weather would continue this week, potentially exacerbating what are already the deadliest blazes in the country’s recent history.

The fires, which have consumed 667,000 acres of land, have killed 24 people so far in south-central Chile, and already made 2023 the second worst year in terms of hectares burned after the so-called “fire storm” that hit the country in 2017.

The state National Forestry Corporation reported that as of Monday morning there were 275 active fires, of which 69 were currently in combat.

UPDATE 4-Norway plans $7 bln in aid to Ukraine over five years

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere (file photo)

OSLO, Feb 6 (Reuters) – Norway’s prime minister proposed on Monday that his country, a major petroleum exporter, should provide some 75 billion crowns ($7.3 billion) in aid to Ukraine over five years.

The Nordic country has seen its government income swell to record levels following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as the price of gas sold to Europe soared last year.

Jonas Gahr Stoere, responding to criticism from some countries and parts of the opposition at home that Norway was indirectly profiting from the war, announced in late 2022 a plan for multi-year aid to Ukraine, without saying how much.

India Is Making Huge Profits Refining Cheap Russian Oil to Sell to America, Europe

AP Photo/R S Iyer, File

While the crude oil is of Russian origin, purchasing the refined products does not appear to violate sanctions on Russia’s fuel industry imposed in light of the year-old Russian “special operation” to colonize Ukraine.

India has refused to boycott Russian oil, coal, or natural gas, citing the government’s need to provide abundant and affordable fuel to its people and the fact that the European countries attempting to lead the charge against Russia are still heavily dependent on its natural gas to heat homes.

According to Bloomberg, India has increased its exports of gasoline and diesel to New York to levels not seen in nearly four years: 89,000 barrels a day.

“Daily low-sulfur diesel flows to Europe were at 172,000 barrels in January, the most since October 2021,” the outlet observed.

America is currently the largest purchaser on earth of Indian refined oil products, purchasing $588 million worth in November.

UK Once Again Brings Coal Power Plants Online as, Foreseeably, It Gets Cold in Winter

Getty Images

National Grid ESO (Electricity System Operator) issued an instruction to two coal-fuelled power stations on Sunday and Monday, instructing them to get warmed ready for connection to the national grid on Tuesday to cover a potential shortage of generation.

The instruction does not guarantee the plants will actually be connected to the grid and provide energy, merely that they are stood by ready if needed to do so.

The instruction is one of several times this winter the ESO has instructed otherwise mothballed coal-fired plants to warm ready for use, in each case the instructions coinciding with typically cold winter weather.
