US News:
Biden moves to scrap Trump-era sea-launched nuclear missile program

The Biden administration is seeking to scrap the U.S. military’s development of nuclear-armed sea-launched cruise missiles, despite recommendations to the contrary from top officials, according to the Pentagon’s new National Defense Strategy released Thursday.
The decision, which comes over top Defense Department officials’ public recommendations to keep the weapon, is part of a sweeping new strategy calling for better military deterrence in the face of threats from Russia and China.
The document, which also includes a review of America’s nuclear arsenal and missile defenses, reverses the Trump administration’s 2018 move to develop a new nuclear-armed sea-launched cruise missile (SLCM-N), a weapon meant to focus specifically on a Russian threat.
The Biden administration said the Trump-era program was “no longer necessary,” as the United States already has the “means to deter limited nuclear use.”
Asked about the decision on Thursday, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the U.S. nuclear weapons inventory is already significant and that officials had determined the submarine-launched cruise missile wasn’t a necessary add.
Las Vegas woman accused of killing own mother blamed earlier arrest on her good looks: report

Hend Bustami, 28, is facing an open murder charge in Clark County for the Oct. 26 death of her mother in Las Vegas, and she is also charged with evading arrest in San Bernardino County, California, county records show.
Las Vegas police officers responded to reports of a person injured on June Flower Drive around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday and later determined that the victim, Bustami’s mother, had been involved in a verbal dispute with her daughter before her death, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) said in a Wednesday press release.
In September, Bustami was arrested for violating airport rules and failing to pay a Chili’s restaurant tab at Harry Reid International Airport in Paradise, Nevada.
Police said at the time that the 28-year-old was “belligerent with officers, saying she was being harassed because cops [had] never seen anyone as pretty as her.”
WATCH: Pickaxe-Wielding Woman Smashes Pasadena Home While Infant Sleeps Inside

In the home security camera footage, the alleged suspect, Beverly Baker, 65, is seen walking up the property’s driveway without interruption before she starts smashing the home’s front door windows with a pickaxe.
The homeowner’s six-week-old daughter was sleeping near a front window when the attack occurred. His mother-in-law, who was babysitting the infant girl, could be heard screaming after the suspect smashed the second window. The mother-in-law reportedly moved the baby away from the window as quickly as possible.
The suspect walked away after the first attack but then returned to smash more windows. As she walked away a second time, she could be yelling, “Questions? Questions, anyone? I’ll be back. Get out”
Oklahoma quadruple homicide: Wrongful death lawsuit filed in case of 4 friends dismembered and dumped in river

The families of four Oklahoma men who went out on a bicycle ride and wound up in pieces underwater are suing the person of interest in the case – who was arrested days later in Florida – and his wife.
Joseph Kennedy, 67, allegedly skipped town and stole an employee’s car from his scrapyard before police took him into custody in Daytona Beach on Oct. 18.
Okmulgee police say Mark Chastain, 32, Billy Chastain, 30, Mike Sparks, 32, and Alex Stevens, 29, set out on Oct. 9 and were later shot to death, dismembered and dumped in the Deep Fork River, where a passerby spotted their remains in shallow water.
Hijacked MTA bus knocks down utility pole, causing power outage

The man, behaving erratically, then pointed the pistol at the driver, who slammed on the brakes and opened all the doors to let all the passengers get off, Deputy Chief Jerry O’Sullivan of Detective Borough Queens South said.
“He put the gun inside of his waistband, and they allowed everybody from the bus to exit both the rear doors and the front doors — and that included the individual with the fake firearm,” O’Sullivan said.
About 20 to 25 passengers got off the bus, he added. The gunman sat directly behind the driver and leaned up against the partition.
“I definitely want to commend the driver for his actions,” O’Sullivan said. “He did not move the bus until everyone was off that bus.”

Nolte: Layoffs Hit Far-Left CNN as Primetime Viewership Collapses to 512K

Per a statement released Wednesday from CNN chief Chris Licht — the left-wing extremist behind Stephen Colbert’s failing late-night show — the fake news outlet is facing “noticeable change. … That, by definition, is unsettling. These changes will not be easy because they will affect people, budgets, and projects.”
During the week of October 17, CNNLOL managed to attract an average of only 512,000 total primetime viewers.
More on the coming layoffs:
CNN makes money off advertising and pay-TV subscriber fees. But as millions of Americans cancel traditional pay TV each year in favor of streaming services, CNN almost certainly can’t raise subscription rates at a fast enough clip to make up for declining viewer numbers.
CNN’s profit is set to drop below $1 billion this year for the first time since 2016, when Donald Trump was elected president. Parent company Warner Bros. Discovery’s valuation has nearly been cut in half this year[.]…
More than 1,000 people will be laid off by Warner Bros. Discovery before the end of the year[.]

The articles and tweets were racist and sexually violent in nature, along with containing death threats against elected officials, and all were deleted shortly after being posted.
In a statement published by CNBC, the Post says the hack was the act of an employee: “The New York Post’s investigation indicates that the unauthorized conduct was committed by an employee, and we are taking appropriate action.”
A spokesperson for the company told TechCrunch: “Confirming that the Post was hacked. The vile and reprehensible content posted has been removed, and we’re still investigating the cause.”

All Age Groups at Higher Risk of Myocarditis Death After COVID Vaccines

Researchers in Japan analyzed deaths caused by myocarditis, a form of heart inflammation, where the myocarditis set in within 28 days of vaccination.
Thirty-eight deaths fit the definition, about half of which were diagnosed by autopsy and or biopsy, with the others being determined through tools such as blood tests and electrocardiograms.
Researchers then took the vaccinated mortality rate and compared it with the death from myocarditis rate from the general population before the pandemic, in the years 2017 to 2019.
“Using the disclosed data by the Japanese government, we observed increased myocarditis mortality rate ratio in the SARS-CoV-2 vaccinated population compared with general population during three years pre-COVID-19 pandemic era, especially in young adults,” the researchers, Dr. Sintaroo Watanabe of the Japan Marine United Corporation and Dr. Rokuro Hama of the Japan Institute of Pharmacovigilance, said.

Latina Republican blocked from joining Congressional Hispanic Caucus

Mayra Flores, who flipped a long-held Democratic House seat along the U.S.-Mexico border earlier this year, said she was refused admission by the CHC because of her party affiliation.
“As the first Mexican-born American Congresswoman, I thought the Hispanic Caucus would be open to working together,” said Flores. “This denial once again proves a bias towards conservative Latinas that don’t fit their narrative or ideology.”
The CHC is the largest working group within Congress for lawmakers of Hispanic and Latino descent. Its membership is made up of roughly 40 lawmakers from both the House and Senate.

Louisiana AG says Americans are subjects, not citizens when their speech is suppressed by government

The Republican attorney general has recently filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration which argues that the administration has worked with social media companies such as Twitter and Facebook to suppress free speech.
“This is a First Amendment violation,” Landry said. “As I have consistently said, this is one of the biggest cases this century,” referring to the lawsuit.
“Our government was engaged in telling social media companies what they could say and could not say, on their platforms,” Landry said.
“We started this case back in June. People laughed at us. Then all of a sudden, we got past the deposition phase and the subpoena phase. We were able to subpoena records in emails. And then we started uncovering the communications between the federal officials and big tech.”

South Korean police arrest woman for the death of two children found in abandoned suitcases

South Korea’s Justice Ministry said it instructed prosecutors on Thursday to apply for the review at the Seoul High Court after determining there was “considerable reason” to believe that the suspect committed the crimes.
If the court rules in favor of her extradition, South Korean Justice Minister Han Dong-hoon would make the final call on whether she’s sent to New Zealand.
Lee Ji-hyeong, an official from the ministry’s international crimes division, said prosecutors will likely apply for the review this week and that the court will have two months to decide on the case.
South Korean police arrested the unidentified woman at a southern port city in September, based on a domestic court warrant issued after New Zealand requested her provisional arrest. New Zealand’s Justice Ministry then submitted a formal request for her extradition to the South Korean ministry.
