Over 2 million illegals crossed US-Mexico border already this year, an all-time high

CBP encounters at the southwest border reached 2,150,639 in August, topping last year’s record-breaking total of 1,734,686.
CBP Commissioner Chris Magnus said in a statement that “failing communist regimes in Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba” are largely to blame for the influx of illegal immigrants at the southwest border.
“Our dedicated teams of skilled agents continue to work around the clock to secure our border and safely and humanely process and vet every individual encountered, but those fleeing repressive regimes pose significant challenges for processing and removal,” Magnus said.
Last week, Vice President Kamala Harris insisted that the U.S.-Mexico border is secure despite the record-breaking number of illegal immigrants entering the U.S.

“This was a brazen scheme of staggering proportions,” U.S. Attorney Andrew Luger for the District of Minnesota said in a statement. “These defendants exploited a program designed to provide nutritious food to needy children during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Syed was 17 when he was charged with murdering his ex-girlfriend, Hae Min Lee. Lee was found strangled to death and buried in a park outside of Baltimore. Authorities suspected that Syed, upset with Lee breaking up with him, struggled with Lee in a car before killing her.

Biden to continue draining oil from strategic reserves through Election Day

The Department of Energy (DOE) announced that it will extend the period in which it aims to sell 180 million barrels of crude oil by auctioning 10 million barrels from Sept. 19 to Sept. 27 and delivering the oil from Nov. 1. to Nov. 30, according to the notice.
The deliveries of the reserves, which aim to bring down gas prices, will take place during the same month as the midterm elections that take place on Nov. 8.
Biden has released 155 million barrels of oil so far, and the November sale will bring the total to 165 million barrels out of the 180 million barrels that he sought to sell from March to October.
The emergency reserve fell to its lowest level since Nov. 1984 on Sept. 6 after consistent monthly releases of crude, according to DOE data.
