Men convicted in Whitmer kidnapping plot allege juror misconduct, biased treatment from judge

The two men recently convicted of plotting to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and charge her with treason have requested a new trial.
They claim that the judge presiding over their case demonstrated prejudicial bias against them on more than one occasion and that one of the twelve jurors had bragged to a co-worker in the early stages of a trial that he or she had already thought they were guilty and wanted them to “hang.”
On Thursday, Barry Croft Jr., 46, and Adam Fox, 38, petitioned the court for a hearing on these issues, hoping that evidence presented during the hearing would convince the court to grant them a new trial.
During the trial, the court filing alleges, Judge Robert Jonker, a judge in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan, had limited the time defense attorneys had to cross-examine a key witness, called some of the evidence offered by the defense “crap,” and permitted a juror who may have violated the judge’s orders in two separate instances to remain on the jury panel.
UPDATE: Men accused of shooting, killing 2 Cobb County deputies identified

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Two deputies with the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office were killed Thursday evening after being shot, Sheriff Craig D. Owens said.
Owens said the deputies were serving a warrant on Thursday night when they were ambushed.
Cobb County court officials identified the shooters Friday as Christopher Cook and Christopher Golden. The two men are expected to make their first court appearance at 4 p.m.
Deputies were ambushed after they got out of their cars and began talking to the suspects. One suspect opened fire from a car and a second suspect also opened fire from the house, according to the sheriff’s office.
The FBI Closely Tracked Aretha Franklin’s Appearances at Civil Rights Events

The FBI kept close tabs on R&B legend Aretha Franklin and her activity in the civil rights movement, newly released Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) records show.
The 270 pages of declassified FBI memos, released on the bureau website’s FOIA vault, include a series of reports on the “communist infiltration” of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), whose first president was Martin Luther King Jr. The bureau said SCLC leadership “has taken a ‘hate America’ and a ‘pro-communist’ line, which the mass of Negroes will not recognize but which they will blindly follow.”
Franklin makes cameos in those records because she sang at several SCLC events between 1967 and 1968. One report on King’s 1968 assassination notes that Franklin was booked to play a memorial concert for King at Atlanta Stadium, which a source warned could “provide emotional spark which could ignite racial disturbance this area.” The SCLC ultimately scrapped plans for the concert.

Report: Woman beheaded on a San Carlos street in front of witnesses

A man allegedly beheaded a woman in the street in front of witnesses in San Carlos on Thursday morning.
Citing unnamed law enforcement sources, ABC7 reported that a woman was beheaded by a man she had gotten a temporary restraining order against.
Police said the incident happened in the street in front of the home of the victim, who lived there with her two children. Allen said the children were not believed to be present at the time of the attack.
“A stabbing instrument was used,” said Allen, who declined to confirm what object was used.

Twitter Paid Whistle-Blower $7 Million for Silence, Lawyer Says

The payment was mentioned in passing at a Sept. 6 hearing in the lawsuit between Twitter and Musk over his attempts to cancel a $44 billion purchase of the company.
“They’re paying the guy $7 million and making sure he’s quiet,” Musk attorney Alex Spiro said at the hearing. People familiar with the matter confirmed the reference was to a payment to whistle-blower Peiter Zatko.
Both sides are gearing up for an October trial of Twitter’s lawsuit to force Musk to consummate the deal. Delaware Chancery Judge Kathaleen St. Jude McCormick on Wednesday approved Musk’s bid to add Zatko’s allegations to his counterclaims. But she denied his bid to delay the trial.
The billionaire argues Zatko raised concerns about the number of bots embedded in Twitter’s customer base along with allegations of lax computer security and privacy issues before being fired from the social media platform. Musk contends Zatko’s claims bolster his arguments that he legitimately nixed the deal.
ADULTS AGED 35–44 DIED AT TWICE THE EXPECTED RATE LAST SUMMER, LIFE INSURANCE DATA SUGGESTS

The report looked at death claims filed under group life insurance policies during the 24 months of the COVID-19 pandemic, from April 2020 to March 2022. The researchers used data from the three years before the pandemic to set a baseline for the expected deaths.
The report also notes that white-collar workers had the highest number of excess deaths during the two years studied. The group, which includes accountants, lawyers, computer programmers, and most other jobs done in an office setting, had 23 percent more deaths than expected.
Dr. Robert Malone, a physician and research scientist credited with the invention of the mRNA technology for use in vaccines, says excess mortality must always be studied to determine whether a vaccine or medicine really is safe.
“Excess mortality should be a signal, a trigger,” he told The Epoch Times. “When we see excess mortality like that—basically if you’re running a clinical trial and you see this kind of excess mortality, you stop the trial. And you investigate the cause before you proceed. And if you’re marketing a drug, generally, with this kind of data, you stop the distribution of the drug until you have sorted it out.”

Nearly $3 Billion in U.S. Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine Remains Unspent

The Biden administration has yet to deliver more than $2.8 billion in humanitarian aid to Ukraine, fueling concerns in Congress that the administration is undermining its own relief efforts as Russia pummels the country.
Congress fast-tracked some $7 billion dollars in recent months to help the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) spearhead humanitarian projects in Ukraine. But as of this month, nearly $3 billion of that money remains unspent. A group of Republican senators are demanding an explanation from USAID as to why a substantial portion of the money they appropriated is sitting in limbo, according to a letter sent to the agency on Friday and obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.
The seven Republican lawmakers, led by Sen. Joni Ernst (R., Iowa), say they are worried “the American people’s generosity is not being properly and swiftly used to help Ukraine,” according to the letter. “These extraordinary congressional appropriations must be quickly and effectively mobilized to address the unfolding crisis.”
Years of Democrat Election Denials
In the chaos of Joe Biden’s 2020 Presidential election, many questioned the legality of write-in ballots, drop boxes, and illegally implemented state voting laws.
Did these tactics tip the election to Joe? Democrats smeared anyone who disagreed with the election results as a fanatical extremist.
Now, Mark presents a startling new video that exposes twenty-two years of Democrat election hypocrisy. When it comes to election denial, the true insurrectionists are in the Democrat party.

AOC opponent Tina Forte says New York City is ‘a mess’ and guns aren’t to blame

Republican House candidate Tina Forte, who is running against New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, said Democratic politicians are wrongly blaming guns for the rise of criminal activity in major cites across the country.
An outspoken small business owner who achieved notoriety on the internet as “Bronx Tina” in a series of combatively pro-Trump, expletive-laden videos, Forte won the Aug. 23 GOP primary in New York’s 14th Congressional District with 67% of the vote.
“They’re blaming the guns right away” for rising violent crime, Forte told Just the News. “They’re not blaming the woke policies. They’re not blaming them whatsoever. They’re not blaming the bail reform. They’re not blaming letting the violent criminals back out, back out onto the streets, no matter what they do. They go in front of a judge and they’re just let back out.”

IT IS GOING TO TAKE “TRILLIONS” TO FIX THE MASSIVE DERIVATIVES CRISIS THAT HAS ERUPTED IN EUROPE

This thing in Europe is rapidly becoming rather serious. Vladimir Putin’s decision to end the flow of gas through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline has caused an enormous derivatives crisis to erupt in Europe, and it is going to take a giant mountain of money to fix it.
Some are already referring to this as a “Lehman Brothers moment” for the European financial system, and authorities all over the EU are really starting to freak out.
We haven’t seen anything like this since 2008, and if the Europeans are not able to contain the damage we could soon see a tsunami of financial panic sweep across the entire globe.
It is being reported that energy trading in Europe “is being strained by margin calls of at least $1.5 trillion”…
Great Barrier Reef sees record growth despite climate alarmist fears

Australian Institute monitoring programme leader Mike Emslie commented on the Great Barrier Reef’s record growth, saying, “What we’re seeing is that the Great Barrier Reef is still a resilient system. It still maintains that ability to recover from disturbances.”
The recovery comes after the fourth mass bleaching in seven years and the first during a La Nina event, which typically brings cooler temperatures. While extensive, the institute said, the bleaching in 2020 and 2022 was not as damaging as in 2016 and 2017.
Australia is routinely criticized for its use of fossil fuels. Greg Bourne, a climate council member, said, “It is like announcing you are going to invest in the horse and cart just after Henry Ford has started producing cars,” referring to the Australian government’s plan for a “gas-fired recovery.”
Yet the Great Barrier Reef’s health is improving amid this criticism. Moreover, the institute’s findings suggest that Australia’s energy infrastructure is not impacting the health of the Great Barrier Reef.
UN Food Official Warns Fertilizer Affordability Crisis Could Slash Global Grain Production By 40%

More than six months into the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the global fertilizer crunch threatens to starve a planet as prices are too high for some farmers ahead of the next planting season.
That’s the view of Maximo Torero, chief economist from the Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations (UN), who told Bloomberg TV that elevated fertilizer prices could decrease global grain production by upwards of 40% in the next planting season.
Combine food supply chain disruptions due to the war in Ukraine and crop failures worldwide due to extreme weather — ramping up food production with reduced fertilizer next planting season via key exporting countries could be challenging.
High fertilizer prices are expected to shrink the world’s rice production. The grain feeds half of humanity and is vital for political and economic stability across Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Supply disruptions could spark social instabilities in those areas of the world. We outlined the risk of unrest is high over the next six months.

Inside the horrific Australian Navy rescue mission that ended in tragedy | 60 Minutes Australia
It was a terrible mistake, a terrible, terrible waste, and only now can the true story be told.
It began as a mercy mission; an Australian Navy team overseas, saving lives after the tsunami. It ended a year ago this Sunday, when their Sea King helicopter crashed and burst into flames on the Indonesian island of Nias – the Navy’s worst ever air disaster.
Just two of the crew survived, and in 2006 one of the them spoke out for the first time, giving a dramatic account of the last flight of Sea King Shark Two.
And there’s also damning evidence why this was no accident – how the Navy failed one of its most precious assets, the heroic men and women of Shark Two.
