Questions grow about Trump raid after revelation of grand jury subpoena, extensive cooperation
The disclosure Wednesday to Just the News raised immediate new questions in legal and congressional circles about the necessity for the subsequent raid, including whether the judge who approved the warrant knew of the earlier cooperation.
“The more we learn, the more confusing this gets,” George Washington University Law professor Jonathan Turley told Fox News program Hannity. “….Did they relay this history to the magistrate? That, according to these sources, that the president had cooperated.
”I mean, the idea that he was subject to a subpoena, complied with a subpoena, didn’t challenge it, voluntarily showed the storage room to the agents, followed their advice, secured it to meet their demands. All of that is hardly a basis for saying now we need to send in 40 FBI agents on a on a raid,” he added. “I mean, if the subpoena worked the first time, then presumably a second subpoena would work the second time if there were remaining documents.”
AG Merrick Garland Says He ‘Personally Approved’ FBI’s Trump Raid
Attorney General Merrick Garland on Thursday provided the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) first public statement about the FBI raid targeting former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence earlier this week, coming as both the FBI and DOJ have issued virtually no comments on the unprecedented incident.
Garland told reporters that his agency filed a motion Thursday to unseal a court-approved court warrant at a home “belonging to the former president,” which Trump “confirmed as is his right,” Garland said.
“I personally approved the decision to seek a search warrant in this matter … the Department does not take such an action lightly,” Garland said.

Guice’s male friend looks over the document and asks if there will be any charges against him. The officer responds, saying it’s only a ticket. The male asks if he has to sign it and the officer informs him that he will go to jail if he doesn’t. The man signs the citation.
Next, he calls Guice over and tells her the same information. She asks the officer for his badge number and full name. He declines to give his first name but does provide his badge number.
When she continues to refuse, the officer tells her she’s being arrested,

Standoff continues after man attempts to breach FBI building
CLINTON COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) – A man is engaged in a standoff with police in Clinton County after he attempted to break into the FBI building in Kenwood.
The Cincinnati Division of the FBI said an armed suspect attempted to breach the Visitor Screening Facility. An alarm was activated, and armed FBI agents responded. The suspect then fled the scene, heading north on I-71.
The suspect was later spotted by the patrol and troopers attempted a traffic stop. The suspect refused to pull over and instead lead the troopers on a chase onto State Route 73 and Smith Road. According to the OSHP, the suspect fired shots at the pursuing troopers.
The suspect came to a stop on State Route 73 near a rest area, where he continued to fire shots at the law enforcement officers.
At this time, no officers have been injured, however, they are currently still engaged in a standoff with the suspect.

The Justice Department has to respond to motions to unseal a warrant that triggered the FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, according to a magistrate judge who reportedly approved the search.
Judicial Watch and the Albany Times Union newspaper filed a motion to unseal the document earlier this week, which was granted by a judge in the case.
“On or before 5:00 p.m. Eastern time on August 15, 2022, the Government shall file a Response to the Motion to Unseal,” wrote U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart on Wednesday afternoon, referring to the Department of Justice.

Aprominent voter-roll management system used by 31 states and the District of Columbia has politically compromised ties, according to a new report by independent research group Verity Vote.
The Electronic Registration Information Center, or ERIC, was sold to states as a quick and easy way to update their voter rolls. Started in 2012 by far-left activist David Becker and the left-leaning Pew Charitable Trusts, the program is ostensibly run by the member states themselves.
But as public records show, Democratic operatives are working overtime under the cover of ERIC to accomplish their partisan goals and drive Democratic voter turnout.
Becker’s left-wing ties have long concerned Republican state officials participating in ERIC. Before he started ERIC, Becker worked as a lobbyist for People for the American Way, a George Soros-funded advocacy group best known for the Right Wing Watch project, a website that catalogs and attacks conservative politicians and movements.
