Trump To Sue CNN
Former President Donald Trump notified CNN of his intention to file a lawsuit against the network for “repeated defamatory statements” in a statement Wednesday.
Ifrah Law, a Washington-based law firm, filed a Notice of Intent ordering the network, under Florida Statute § 770.02, to “publish a full and fair correction, apology, or retraction” in published pieces or broadcasts that allegedly made “false statements” about the former president. The notice warned that failure to issue an apology will result in a lawsuit.
“Failure to publish such a correction, apology, or retraction will result in the filing of a lawsuit and damages being sought against you, CNN,” the document warned.
Trump warned he will be suing other media outlets that have “defamed and defrauded the public” about the 2020 presidential election results.

“[Wolf] and five of his friends hired a ‘Lyft’ driver to pick them up in Dewey Beach and transport them back to their residence in Bethany Beach,” police said.
“As the group was traveling southbound on Coastal Highway all in the same vehicle, a disagreement occurred between the group and the Lyft operator,” they continued. “The Lyft operator terminated the ride and stopped in the middle of the southbound left lane and demanded all six passengers exit the vehicle.”
As the group exited the ride, a driver of a 2016 Toyota Corolla behind the Lyft changed lanes to avoid hitting the rear of the stopped SUV, hitting Wolf in the process.
Judge Won’t Acquit Steve Bannon, but Mulls Dismissing Contempt Charges
A federal judge on Wednesday declined a request to acquit Donald Trump’s former presidential adviser Steve Bannon on two contempt charges for defying a subpoena from a congressional committee investigating the 2021 Capitol attack, but he left open the door to consider dismissing the charges instead.
“The court concludes that the evidence presented in the government’s case was sufficient to sustain a conviction,” Nichols wrote.
However, the judge said he still wants both parties to provide additional legal briefs before he can rule on Bannon’s second request that Nichols dismiss the charges.
Study: Earth’s Cleaner Air Has Adverse Effects on Climate
Researchers using an array of satellite observations discovered that the effect of air pollution on climate has dropped by up to 30% from 2000 levels, Science reported.
Although this is positive for public health, it’s bad for global warming or climate change, Science observed.
The cleaner air has effectively boosted the total warming from carbon dioxide emitted over the same time from 15% to 50%, according to Johannes Quaas, a climate scientist at Leipzig University, who conducted the research.
Fed Unleashes Another Big Rate Hike, of 0.75 Percentage Points
The Federal Reserve on Wednesday raised its benchmark interest rate by a hefty three-quarters of a point for a second straight time in its most aggressive drive in three decades to tame high inflation.
The Fed’s move will raise its key rate, which affects many consumer and business loans, to a range of 2.25% to 2.5%, its highest level since 2018.
The central bank’s decision follows a jump in inflation to 9.1%, the fastest annual rate in 41 years, and reflects its strenuous efforts to slow price gains across the economy.
By raising borrowing rates, the Fed makes it costlier to take out a mortgage or an auto or business loan. Consumers and businesses then presumably borrow and spend less, cooling the economy and slowing inflation.

FACT CHECK: Gun Owners of America Spokeswoman Claims ’94 Percent of Mass Shootings Occur in Gun-Free Zones’
CLAIM: During Tuesday’s congressional testimony before the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, Gun Owners of America’s (GOA) Antonia Okafor said, “94 percent of mass shootings occur in gun-free zones.”
VERDICT: True, when “gun-free zones” are defined as “places where where general citizens couldn’t carry guns.”
Okafor’s testimony is part of the Committee on Oversight and Reform hearing “examining the practices and profits of gun manufacturers.”
The hearing centered on AR-15 rifles, which Okafor said she was proud to defend. She listed numerous instances in which law-abiding citizens have used AR-15s for self-defense, then noted that mass public attacks with ARs largely occur in gun-free zones.
Okafor intimated that the attackers enjoy the gun-free zones because they know they will not face armed retaliation.
She said, “It’s not surprising that 94 percent of mass shootings occur in gun-free zones.”
Disney Caves Again to Far Left: Hulu Will Now Run Democrats’ Abortion, Gun Control Ads
Disney said Hulu will now accept advertisements “covering a wide spectrum of policy positions” in a statement sent to multiple news outlets on Wednesay. At the center of the controversy were two commercials paid for by Democrat organizations that Hulu had rejected.
One of the commercials used the Supreme Court’s recent reversal of Roe v. Wade to attack Republicans and urge viewers to vote Democrat in the November midterms. The second ad promoted gun control and blamed GOP leaders for shooting deaths.
The commercials were paid for by three groups — the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and Democratic Governors Association.
Hulu declined to run both ads, citing its policy against the running of commercials that take a “position on a controversial issue of public importance (e.g. social issues).”
Disney’s decision enraged left-wing activists and the mainstream media, particularly the Jeff Bezos-owned Washington Post, which ran an article pressuring the company into accepting the ads. The Post article featured a quote from leaders of the aforementioned Democrat groups:

The censorship was so severe, no-name blogs with plagiarized headlines and content would appear in search results before the original Breitbart News articles. On searches for the term “Joe Biden,” Google cut visibility on Breitbart News links to zero.
Then, a few weeks before the election, Big Tech teamed up to suppress one of the biggest stories of the cycle: the Hunter Biden laptop story. A post-election poll found that 17 percent of Biden voters would have reconsidered their decision had they been aware of the laptop story alone, not counting the hundreds of Breitbart News stories voters didn’t have access to due to Google censorship.
Going into the 2022 midterm elections, if Silicon Valley gets its way, voters online will see only what the elites want them to see. That January 6 was the worst attack on democracy ever. That Republicans killed people by pointing out masks don’t work. That women in red states are being driven to coathanger abortions.
In short, Silicon Valley will ensure that the misinformation of the establishment gets a megaphone, while any conservative counterpoints are silenced. We already know from 2020 that this works. The question is, what are Republicans going to do about it?
Heartbroken Dad Slams Wisconsin Democrat Leader over Fatal Car Crash That Killed His Daughter
Bewley had reportedly undergone cataract eye surgery the day before.
The accident occurred in Ashland, Wisconsin, at Maslowski Beach on Highway 2 at around 12:25 p.m. on Friday, according to the Ashland Daily Press, citing a police report.
Bewley was pulling her vehicle out of a parking lot from the beach and drove straight into the path of Alyssa Ortman, 27, who was with her daughter. After the two collided, Ortman’s vehicle spun out and hit another oncoming car.
Grieving from the tragedy, Brandon Fink, the father of Khali, said in a post on Facebook, “I still can’t believe this, all I can do is curl up in your blanket and miss you forever my poor sweet little girl.”
In a subsequent post, Fink revealed that Bewley had not even reached out to him as of Monday, saying, “Wow… my daughter was taken from me after a US Senator, Janet Bewley for Wisconsin , hit her and her mother into traffic and to their demise. Hasn’t even reached out… great people we elect.”

Drs. Gruber and Krause reportedly resigned during the White House’s push to approve the COVID-19 vaccine “booster shots.”
On Sept. 13, 2021, Gruber and Krause were among a group of resigning doctors who agreed that, “available evidence doesn’t yet indicate a need for COVID-19 vaccine booster shots among the general population …”
According to the organization’s news release, the FDA, “amended the emergency use authorization (EUA) for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine to allow for use of a single booster dose, to be administered at least six months after completion of the primary series” for people at “high risk” of “severe COVID-19.”
“These FDA documents confirm a politicized approval process for the controversial COVID-19 vaccine booster shots,” says Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “It is a scandal that it took months and a federal lawsuit to these troubling facts about this unprecedented and seemingly never-ending vaccine operation.”

State Attorneys General Sue the Biden Administration for Tying School Lunch Funding to LGBT Policies
The attorneys general of 22 states have filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration over a new rule that seeks to block federal meal funding from schools that don’t follow the administration’s gender identity policies.
In May, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued a notice that state and local agencies, program operators, and sponsors receiving funding from the agency’s Food and Nutrition Service must update their policies to include new protections related to sexual orientation and gender identity.
“The Department’s Memoranda and Final Rule concern highly controversial and localized issues of enormous importance to the States, their subdivisions, affiliates, and citizens. The Department has no power to settle such issues, let alone by executive fiat without providing any opportunity for public comment,” the lawsuit states (pdf).
House Dems Shelve Votes on Assault Weapons Bans, Funding Police Until August
House Democrats have scrapped imminent plans to introduce safety-related legislation that involves funding the police and banning assault weapons, with the expectation of resuming these same talks in August.
Citing various media reports, Democratic Party leadership, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has lingering concerns about the substance of the respective bills.
There’s even speculation that neither measure would have garnered enough approval from various factions of the House Democrats, if they had been forced to vote in the coming days.
As such, the Democrats, as a whole, will revisit these measures next month.
Rep. Jackson, 53 Other Republicans Ask Biden to Take Cognitive Test
“We again write to you to express concern with your current cognitive state and to urge you to submit to a cognitive test immediately. We believe that, regardless of gender, age, or political party, all Presidents should follow the example set by former President Trump to document and demonstrate sound mental abilities,” the letter says.
“While you have largely brushed aside these assertions as partisan political attacks, the left-leaning New York Times recently published an article outlining all of this in great detail,” the letter continues. “According to The New York Times, the increased scrutiny surrounding your cognitive state has been fueled by your recent public appearances.”
“The American people should have absolute confidence in their President, knowing that he or she can perform their duties as Head of State and Commander in Chief,” the letter says. “They deserve full transparency on the mental capabilities of their highest elected leader.”

Former President Donald J. Trump laid out 42 policy proposals at the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) summit Tuesday, where he gave his first speech in Washington, DC, since leaving office.
Prepared remarks circulated by the Trump team show the 45th president’s proposals on an array of topics, including the Second Amendment, border security, education, energy, and election integrity, but a central focus of his policy proposal addresses law and order.
- The prepared remarks first emphasized the importance of supporting police departments throughout the country and fostering a culture that respects law enforcement. “We have to give our police back their authority, resources, power, and prestige. Leave our police alone. Let them do their job. Give them back their RESPECT. They know what to do. We have to allow them to do it,” Trump’s plan said.
- On top of giving officers the tools they need to succeed, Trump’s policy proposal called for the restitution of “stop-and-frisk policies in cities,” adding that it is imperative guns are taken from criminals. “If you are a convicted felon and you have a gun, you’re off the streets,” the proposal asserts.

World entering ‘dangerous new age’ of threats, says UK’s top national security adviser
Sir Stephen Lovegrove raised the spectre of a “collapse into uncontrolled conflict” unless methods are devised to deter hostilities and impose controls over the spread of ever-more deadly weapons that have become increasingly easy to acquire.
In a rare and very frank public speech during a visit to the United States, he warned how mechanisms developed during the Cold War by and between Western allies and the then Soviet Union to prevent either side from triggering a nuclear exchange were no longer sufficient.
He highlighted concerns about China’s nuclear weapons programme in particular.
“The question is how we reset strategic stability for the new era – finding a balance amongst unprecedented complexity so there can be no collapse into uncontrolled conflict,” Sir Stephen said.
“The circle can only be squared if we renew both deterrence and arms control, taking a more expansive and integrated approach to both.”
Setting out the challenge, Sir Stephen said there is a growing set of weapons that is becoming increasingly easy to acquire – and not just by national governments.
Demonstrators breach Baghdad’s parliament in protest over PM nomination in Iraq

Rail strikes: Travel misery to continue as train drivers at nine companies announce more walkouts
Only around one in five trains ran on Wednesday, on about half the network, with some areas having no trains all day.
Picket lines were mounted outside stations as members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union at Network Rail and 14 train operators went on strike.

Germany to Cut Subsidies to Electric Cars, Let Them Sell at True Price
The government had announced shortly after taking office in December that, starting in 2023, it would only provide payments for electric vehicles that “demonstrably have a positive climate-protection effect.” It unveiled details of the new system late Tuesday.
At present, buyers of electric-only cars are eligible for incentives of up to 6,000 euros ($6,100) and people who buy plug-in hybrids can get up to 4,500 euros.
The economy and climate ministry said the number of electric cars on the road is rising fast, with the total expected to near 2 million this year. They “are becoming ever more popular and will need no state subsidies in the foreseeable future,” minister Robert Habeck said in a statement.
Starting in January, incentives for electric and fuel-cell cars will be cut to 4,500 euros apiece for vehicles with a list price of up to 40,000 euros and to 3,000 euros for cars costing 40,000-65,000 euros.
Dutch Farmers Block Highways with Manure and Burning Hay to Protest Globalist Climate Agenda
The Netherlands was left scrambling trying to clear dozens of road blockades, consisting of manure, hay, tyres, and other waste heaped on the roads by supporters of the Dutch farmer protest movement against the globalist government of PM Mark Rutte trying to impose draconian EU-based regulations on nitrogen that could see up to 30 per cent of farms disappear in the country.
As of this reporting there has been no police action taken, despite several of the piles of hay or other blockades being set on fire.
According to public broadcaster Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS), a police spokesman said that it would be difficult to ascertain who exactly left the manure or other waste on the highways and that the ministry for public works would be responsible for clearing the roads, so therefore no police action would be taken.
Tensions have previously run hot after police squared off with farmer protesters, with one officer even going so far as to fire his gun at a teenager behind the wheel of a tractor. Though the shots missed, the police force was heavily criticised for the disproportionate use of lethal force.
Russia Doing Better Than Expected Despite Sanctions: IMF
Despite damaging Western sanctions imposed on Moscow in the wake of the invasion of Ukraine, Russia’s economy appears to be weathering the storm better than expected as it benefits from high energy prices, the IMF said Tuesday.
The sanctions were meant to sever Russia from the global financial system and choke off funds available to Moscow to finance the war.
But the International Monetary Fund’s latest World Economic Outlook upgraded Russia’s GDP estimate for this year by a remarkable 2.5 percentage points, although its economy is still expected to contract by six percent.
