Appalling video shows Iranian man carrying wife’s head after ‘honor killing’

The gruesome footage shows Sajjad Heydari strolling through a neighborhood in Ahvaz, a city in the southwestern province of Khuzestan, on Saturday with Mona Heydari’s head in one hand and a blade in the other, East2West News reported.

Mona, who also was Sajjad’s cousin, had been forced to marry him when she was just 12 years old, according to the Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran.

She reportedly suffered domestic abuse but was pressured to stay put for the sake of their 3-year-old son, even though she had expressed her wish to divorce the brute.

A police official said the motive for the murder was “family differences.”

CDC director defers to Democratic governors on ending mask mandates, says federal guidelines won’t change

Walensky’s comments come as Democratic governors in Connecticut, Delaware, and New Jersey, as well as Massachusetts’ Republican governor, announced this week that statewide mask mandates would not be renewed when they expire, transferring decisions over mask requirements to local school districts.

New York and California will also end their indoor mask mandates for public spaces, but have not announced whether separate school mask mandates will expire too.

The governors in these states say the mandates are no longer needed because of declining COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations after the Omicron surge, as well as the widespread availability of vaccines and booster shots.

Asked if CDC data backs up decisions to lift mask mandates, Walensky deferred to the governors’ judgement.

DHS Now Considers Free Speech As Terrorism Threat

The wording on the DHS publication is so broad that it appears to include constitutionally protected free speech along with violent activity.

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas stated the National Terrorism Advisory System Bulletin was fueled by multiple factors, including “an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories, and other forms of mis- dis- and mal-information (MDM) introduced and/or amplified by foreign and domestic threat actors” who seek to “exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence.”

DHS also lists people who discuss election integrity and voter fraud as threats

According to the DHS, any information or opinions that are considered “anti-government” are considered a “threat” to America’s national security. However, anti-law enforcement ideologies such as those espoused by Antifa and Black Lives Matter are not even mentioned. The advisory also does not mention drug cartels currently operating at the open borders.

Child shot in road rage incident when family was on the way to grocery store, police say

ABC 13 reports the victim was riding in a Tahoe with her parents and sibling when someone in a white Denali pickup fired into the vehicle, striking the young girl in the head.

Police believe the Denali was racing another vehicle and the Tahoe driver unintentionally got in the way of the race.

Click2Houston notes police believe the Denali driver “cut off the family’s vehicle several times while on the freeway” before allegedly shooting at them.

Both drivers who were allegedly racing fled the scene after the shots were fired.

UCLA to pay $243m to settle sexual abuse claims against gynaecologist Dr James Heaps

More than 200 women said they were victims of Dr James Heaps over his 35-year career and each will get $1.2m, lawyers said.

It is claimed that UCLA ignored decades of complaints and deliberately concealed the abuse.

The women have accused him of touching them sexually without gloves, simulating intercourse with a probe and making sexually inappropriate remarks.

8th-graders get assigned to list their favorite sex acts like pizza toppings

A Connecticut public school told eighth-grade students in a sex education class to list their sexual likes and dislikes as pizza toppings as a way to teach consent, according to a report from Parents Defending Education (PDE).

The assignment titled “Pizza & Consent” at Enfield Public Schools in Enfield, Connecticut, used pizza as a metaphor for sex and compared “kissing” and “giving oral” to pizza toppings, according to PDE. The assignment also reportedly asked students to list their to sexual likes, dislikes and boundaries.

Alleged sex traffickers, rapists, antisemites remain on Spotify without issue while Rogan faces boycott calls

R&B legend R. Kelly remains on the platform and rakes in close to 5 million listeners a month. The artist was found guilty in 2021 of sex trafficking, racketeering, sexual exploitation of a child, kidnapping and more.

Glitter was convicted of downloading child pornography in 1999. His career ruined, he fled to Vietnam. In 2006, he was arrested and convicted of raping local underage girls in his luxury home.

Finally, in 2015, Glitter was convicted for further sex crimes in his native England. He was convicted of rape, indecent assault and sex with a girl under the age of 13.

Farrakhan, who has ties to several high-profile Democrats, has blamed Jews for, among other things, the slave trade, Jim Crow and black oppression in general. During a speech in Chicago in 1996, Farrakhan denounced Jews as “the synagogue of Satan.”

Wisconsin women shot server in the face over missing burger: Investigators

Bryanna Johnson and Breanta Johnson, both 20 and both from Milwaukee, made initial appearances in Milwaukee County court Monday, according to FOX6 News Milwaukee. They are both charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide. 

The women were in a group of four being “impatient and rude,” another restaurant employee told police. 

After being asked to leave, one of the women exited the restaurant and then briefly returned. The complaint says the “four women were up by the register” when one woman in a blue hoodie punched the shooting victim.

“The other woman pulled out a handgun and fired one round at (the victim) striking him in the face while (the victim) was lying on the ground.”

Republicans Clash With Biden FCC Pick Gigi Sohn Over ‘Truly Stunning’ Inconsistencies, Alleged Conflicts Of Interest

The hearing was Sohn’s second before the committee, and was convened following lingering concerns over a settlement agreement struck by a streaming service on whose board Sohn previously served and broadcasters with whom Sohn will be tasked with regulating if confirmed.

Sohn was one of three directors of Locast, an online streaming service that retransmitted local television broadcasts. The company was shut down in October after broadcasters sued and a judge ruled the service was violating copyright law; Locast resolved the matter by entering into a settlement agreement with broadcasters requiring the service to pay $32 million in damages.

However, one day after Sohn was nominated, Locast struck another confidential agreement with broadcasters lowering the damages the service was required to pay to roughly $700,000. Sohn did not disclose this fact in her previous hearing on Dec. 1, saying in her testimony Wednesday that the terms of the confidential agreement prevented her from discussing specifics with the Senate.

Republican Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn questioned Sohn’s affiliations with two activist groups, Fight For the Future (FFTF) and Free Press, who Blackburn said have incited violence and harassment against elected officials, citing an instance in which former FCC Chairman Ajit Pai was harassed and threatened by net neutrality activists.

“It is of concern to me, because you have tweeted support for these groups. You have made donations to these groups, and then you have been a public interest advocate for the issues; you share the sentiment that these groups are pushing forward because you have advocated for that,” Blackburn said.

Sohn claimed she was in “no way affiliated with those groups” in response to Blackburn’s questions, but acknowledged that she had made “contributions” due to their advocacy work, before acknowledging she was, in fact, affiliated with them.

With the November midterms approaching and President Joe Biden’s “Build Back Better” agenda collapsed, leading congressional Democrats have turned their focus on ending lawmakers’ ability to trade individual stocks.

Seventy-six percent of voters believe congressional members and their spouses have an “unfair advantage” trading stocks.

Nancy Pelosi, along with Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA), chair of the House Administration Committee, is working on a detailed plan on how to end what voters deem inside congressional trading, Punchbowl News reported.

Yet Pelosi’s deliberations have reportedly stuck complications, such as whether to provide exemptions for pre-elected portfolios, capital gains taxes, and family members.

Democrat-Led States Ease COVID Rules, Forcing Biden to Rethink Mandates

With even Democrat-led states moving to roll back mask mandates, the White House said Wednesday it is beginning to prepare for a less-restrictive phase of the national COVID response amid growing impatience to ease up and turn toward post-pandemic normalcy.

White House COVID-19 coordinator Jeff Zients said officials have started consultations with state and local leaders and public health officials “on steps we should be taking to keep the country moving forward.”

His comments come as states have moved to ease restrictions and guide the nation back toward life unencumbered by the virus.

State board claims authority to convict GOP congressman of ‘insurrection’

Democrats’ claims that GOP members of Congress are “insurrectionists” for questioning the 2020 presidential race results, says it has the authority, essentially, to convict a congressman of “insurrection.”

The fight is over the agenda adopted by Democrats following the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol. They immediately started defining it as an insurrection, even though those arrested and charged generally are facing charges of trespassing and the like.

But their goal is to use a long-dormant constitutional provision adopted after the Civil War that prevents members of Congress from having participated in an “insurrection,” like the Civil War.

Democrats and leftists say GOP members who even joined in the questioning of the 2020 results are guilty.

Trump Tears Into McConnell Again, Says He ‘Does Not Speak For The Republican Party’

Trump said McConnell does not represent the Republican Party and is at odds with the majority of the GOP’s voters in a new statement, released from his Save America PAC. 

Trump also attacked McConnell for not taking any action to stop the Biden administration, naming issues such as the border crisis and inflation.

“Mitch McConnell does not speak for the Republican Party, and does not represent the views of the vast majority of its voters. “Instead, he bails out the Radical Left and the RINOs.

If Mitch would have fought for the election, like the Democrats would have if in the same position, we would not be discussing any of the above today, and our Country would be STRONG and PROUD instead of weak and embarrassed,” Trump added.

European ‘freedom convoy’ eyes major Valentine’s Day protest in Brussels against COVID-19 measures

A coordinated pan-European convoy of anti-vaccine protestors is expected to descend on Brussels on February 14. Brussels police are gearing up should the demonstration turn violent as others have done — but they admit being somewhat in the dark about protesters’ plans.

A spokesperson for Belgian Interior Minister Annelies Verlinden told POLITICO that local law enforcement was closely following the “calls for demonstrations.” But she said that “despite the monitoring, it is not obvious to find out what the exact plans of the European Freedom Convoy are, as well as to estimate the exact size of the movement.”

The protestors have a clear goal: to disrupt Brussels as much as possible in protest against anti-COVID-19 measures taken by national governments and the European Union.

Pyongyang created the Hwasong-15 in 2017 and has not tested it, but the Foreign Ministry cited it as a vital weapon in its arsenal. The Hwasong-15 supposedly is the country’s longest-range intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) and is believed to have the range to strike the U.S. 

January marked a significant increase in testing activity as Pyongyang launched seven missiles in the first month of this year – more than it tested during all of last year. Those tests included a supposed hypersonic glide vehicle and the intermediate-range ballistic missile Hwasong-12. 

Only China and Russia have otherwise completed supposed tests on hypersonic glide vehicles, which would prove difficult for current U.S. systems to track after launch due to its heightened maneuverability at lower altitudes.
