‘We have failed our children’: Goldie Hawn warns COVID-19 pandemic has unleashed mental trauma on an entire generation of kids

Hawn explained that the COVID-19 pandemic has robbed adults and children of critical “support structures that all humans depend on for perspective, encouragement, and love.”

“The COVID era has changed our children’s lives in far more real, tangible ways — social distancing, school closures, daily mask use,” she added. “Kids are afraid of people, spaces, even the air around them – a level of constant fear not seen in decades.”

Hawn cited a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that found emergency room visits for suspected suicide attempts by adolescent girls spiked nearly 51% in 2021 and almost 4% for boys.

The movie star noted that U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy cautioned in December that the COVID-19 pandemic has had “unprecedented impacts on the mental health of America’s youth and families.”

She also linked to a declaration of national emergency in child and adolescent mental health by the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and the Children’s Hospital Association.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The wife of an Alabama police officer who was shot to death during an argument at home was sentenced to 20 years in prison after claiming she killed her husband accidentally.

While Stephanie Keller asked for mercy and denied that she meant to kill Andy Kimbrel, who worked for the Vestavia Hills Police Department, a judge cited her lack of remorse in imposing the term during a hearing Thursday, news outlets reported.

“Ms. Keller refuses to accept responsibility and continues to not respect the jury’s verdict,’’ said Jefferson County Circuit Judge Alaric May.

Florencia 13: Vicious Mexican American gang linked to LAPD officer’s murder, authorities say

LAPD officer Fernando Arroyos, 27, was gunned down in South Los Angeles during an attempted robbery while he was looking at houses with his girlfriend Jan. 10. Arroyos and his assailants exchanged gunfire and he was hit once, federal authorities said.

Luis Alfredo De La Rosa Rios, 29; Ernesto Cisneros, 22; Jesse Contreras, 34; and Rios’ girlfriend, 18-year-old Haylee Marie Grisham, were charged in federal court with violent crime in aid of racketeering, which carries a potential death penalty and minimum sentence of life in federal prison without the possibility of parole.

The three men are members of F13, Grisham is a gang associate, and they carried out the attack to increase and maintain their position within the gang, the Justice Department said.

Camrin Williams, who is also known by the rap name C Blu, posted his $250,000 bond after being locked up at a Brooklyn juvenile facility on gun and assault charges in the shooting of a 27-year-old cop in Belmont.

“If anybody wants to know why we have a crisis of violence in this city, or why we’re about to bury two hero police officers, look no further than this disgraceful bail release,” NYPD Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Lynch said in a statement.

“This individual chose to carry illegal guns twice,” Lynch said. “He chose to fight with and shoot a New York City police officer. There’s no reason to believe he won’t do the exact same thing when he’s out on the street tonight.

“Shame on Judge Denis Boyle for allowing this to happen,” he said. “The people of the Bronx won’t be safe as long as he’s on the bench.”

“People were … breaking into these containers and stealing firearms, tens of firearms,” Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore told the LAPD Board of Police Commissioners on Monday, the Los Angeles Times reported.

“That gave us the great concern as a source again of further violence in the city as people were capitalizing on the transport of these containers with having little or no policing or security services there.”

LAPD Deputy Chief Al Labrada, who commands the area that includes the Lincoln Heights railroad tracks, said the department had recovered “numerous guns” from people who said the weapons were taken from railroad box cars.

“Injured, Mr. Castillo was able to make his way to the Shell Gas Station and dialed 911,” the Lancaster station continued. “As Mr. Castillo laid on the ground, on the phone with a 911 operator, the suspect drove around, approached Mr. Castillo and shot him point blank in the head.”

Det. James Phillips of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told KLTA that “we definitely believe, with the evidence we have, that during the [first] shooting, they had actually crashed into each other. We are guessing that the suspect was ramming into the victim’s vehicle.”

In the second shooting, the suspect was “driving around looking for the victim” and then “approached Mr. Castillo as he laid there and shot additional rounds into his head” during the 911 call, Phillips added.

Police described the suspect as an adult Hispanic male last seen wearing a green shirt, a black hat and black shorts, who was driving a white, 4-door BMW with tinted windows.

Luzuriaga went on to talk about how her husband was “tired of these laws, especially the ones from the new D.A.”

During her speech on Friday, Luzuriaga said she hoped the newly minted D.A. was “watching you speak through me right now.”

I’m sure all of our blue family is tired too,” Luzuriaga continued. “But I promise, we promise, that your death won’t be in vain.”

Milwaukee gunman allegedly shot a city police officer Thursday night – hours after another man was accused of opening fire on three Houston police officers.

The unidentified officer, 26, was initially dispatched to respond to a sick or injured person who was seen by a witness slumped over in a vehicle, the Milwaukee Police Department said in a press release.

Upon arriving at the scene, the officer approached the vehicle, when the suspect inside the vehicle, a 22-year-old, then brandished a weapon and exchanged gunfire with the officer. The suspect, who was injured in the shootout, then entered the wounded officer’s squad car and drove off, according to the press release.

Before doing so, the judge criticized far-left District Attorney George Gascon, whose office declined to prosecute the repeat offender as an adult.

Tubbs, 26, recently pleaded guilty to molesting the girl in a women’s bathroom eight years ago when Tubbs was two weeks away from turning 18. At the time of the crime, she identified as male and went by James Tubbs. She did not identify as female until after she was taken into custody, according to prosecutors.

“Tubbs is 26 years old. Unlike George Gascon’s false narrative, she is not a ‘kid,'” L.A. Deputy District Attorney Jon Hatami, assigned to the Complex Child Abuse Unit, told Fox News Digital.

“There was evidence presented at the juvenile proceedings which showed that Tubbs sexually assaulted two young girls in different incidents in the past. The child victims will suffer lifelong trauma. Tubbs also has prior violent convictions and conduct as an adult.”

Police and law enforcement officers continue to be the victims of a violent trend, as six officers were the victims of gun violence over just the past two days, prompting a somber post from a Michigan sheriff.

Mike Bouchard, the Oakland County sheriff, took to Twitter late Thursday to post a photo of the condolence letters that his office plans to send out to other police agencies. He said the letters are intended “for first responders who died in the line of duty in January.”

“And unfortunately, another three officers were shot today in Houston. Prayers,” he posted.

The shootings targeting law enforcement officers on Thursday were not isolated in Houston.

Jeremiah Tabb, 18, was indicted on a charge of tampering with evidence by disposing of an illegal gun involved in a shooting that killed one person and injured 14 in Austin in June 2021 and was released on a personal bond on January 20, according to KVUE.

While Tabb was not required to put down any money in order to be released, the judge did attach a $150,000 condition on his release meaning he would have to pay if he does not attend his future court hearings.

Tabb, a gang member who allegedly instigated the shooting and fired at a rival gang member, was indicted in December 2021 for allegedly disposing of the weapon that shooting suspect De’Ondre Jermirris White used in the mass shooting in downtown Austin that killed 25-year-old Douglas Kantor, a Ford Motor Co. employee from Michigan who was in Austin to celebrate earning his master’s degree, and left 14 people injured. Bridge Has Total Failure, Collapses Right Before Biden Is Scheduled to Tout His Infrastructure Victory

According to WTAE-TV, the Fern Hollow Bridge near Frick Park suddenly fell apart early Friday morning. Photos shared on Twitter showed the devastating scene .A Port Authority bus carrying two passengers and a driver was involved in the collapse, WTAE reported. The passengers were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

According to Fox News, first responders rappelled almost 150 feet to rescue passengers from the bus, which was dangling from the collapsed bridge. A human chain had to be formed to help some of the rescuers.

In addition, a “major gas leak” at the scene caused nearby homes to be evacuated due to a strong odor, WTAE reported. In an update on Twitter about an hour after the collapse, Pittsburgh Public Safety announced the gas line had been cut.

Rep. Hinson introduces bill to block taxpayer funds being used for migrant flights

FIRST ON FOXRep. Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa, on Friday introduced legislation to bar taxpayer money paying for migrant flights into the U.S. interior amid continued outrage about the practice from Republicans.

The Stop the Betrayal Act of 2022 would bar federal funds being used by the Department of Homeland Security, or other agencies, to transport illegal immigrants into the interior of the country.

It would still allow funding to be used for deportations and the enforcement of immigration law as well as the transport of unaccompanied children to Health and Human Services (HHS) facilities.

The bill comes in response to footage obtained by a Freedom of Information Act request by former Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino, which shows migrants being transported on charter flights at night from to Westchester, New York.

Court finds Pennsylvania mail-in voting law unconstitutional

McLinko describes the Trump-Biden election after this law as a “mess” and told Just the News, “Our votes were just thrown away.”

Faddis said he feels that part of Biden’s large share of Pennsylvania votes is “unfortunately fraud.”

“In exchange for Democratic support for ending straight party voting, the Republican establishment gave the Democrats mail-in voting” in Pennsylvania, Faddis wrote in AND Magazine.

“The boys in the backrooms in the state capital believed that Donald Trump was so unpopular people would show up and simply vote against all Republicans,” Faddis wrote. In an effort to repeal straight party voting, the Pennsylvania GOP “engaged in some good old-fashioned political horse trading.”

The act received wide support from Pennsylvania Republicans, and McLinko is facing GOP resistance. “I am fighting the Republican establishment, and that’s my point with Harrisburg,” the Bradford County Commissioner said. “I don’t even like being around them. They’re out of touch.”

Special counsel Durham says just learning about Justice watchdog Horowitz, Sussmann’s 2017 meeting

“The OIG had not previously informed the Special Counsel’s Office of this meeting with the defendant,” the filing by Durham’s legal team states.

Durham’s team says that while Sussmann was pushing the claims to the FBI about communications between the Trump Organization and Alfa Bank he told agents that he was not working on behalf of any particular client.

However, Sussmann had in fact been working on behalf of the Clinton campaign and billing his time to her camp.

Durham says he met with Horowitz in October of 2021 and afterward requested information and documents relevant to the origins of the Russia investigation. However, Horowitz failed to reveal that he had personally met with Sussmann in March 2017, Durham claims.

Blackburn tweeted a link to a Breitbart News article chronicling revelations in Red-Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win that show Pelosi softened her stance on the Communist regime as her family “scored big business deals in China.”

Schweizer documents Pelosi’s progression from a junior congresswoman in the early 90s, who conducted a protest in Tiananmen Square that infuriated Chinese officials, to the speaker of the House in 2020, who “used her position to block any and all investigation into the origins of the [corona]virus,” Boyle reported.

Pelosi is not the only high-ranking Democrat to be exposed in Schweizer’s new book.

The best-selling author takes a deep dive into the Biden family’s relationship with communist China and reveals the Bidens received $31 million through five business deals in China with individuals closely tied to Chinese intelligence, Breitbart News Politics Editor Emma-Jo Morris reported. The bombshell prompted Republican Rep. Claudia Tenney (NY) to say, “The Biden family is entangled with and enriched by” corrupt Chinese Communist Party officials.

Feinstein’s Husband Co-Owned Chinese Company That Sold Spyware to U.S. Military

A full chapter of Red-Handed is devoted to tracking Feinstein’s mutually beneficial relationship with communist China.

The senator has made herself very useful to Beijing — so useful that she actually tried to excuse the Tiananmen Square massacre by suggesting China only called in combat troops to murder thousands of demonstrators because it ran out of cops.

Her husband did a great deal of lucrative business with Chinese companies, including entities run by the Communist government and linked to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).

In one of those deals, Blum became a major investor in Lenovo, a computer company founded by researchers from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), an institution tied to both the Chinese government and the PLA.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Republican challenger Desi Cuellar has proposed a federal death penalty for convicted cop killers. (desicuellar.com)

Cuellar’s plan comes amid an alarming “war on police” nationwide – with at least six officers killed in the line of duty in the U.S. so far in 2022 and others shot at, attacked or otherwise targeted by criminals, according to data from the Officer Down Memorial Page.

And this year follows 2021, which was the “deadliest year for law enforcement officers in history,” according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

“The problem we face today is that the mindset of the modern criminal is one that understands that they will not face severe consequences for their violent actions,” Cuellar said. “And honestly, it feels like we are getting a lack of action on this crisis from both sides of the aisle. Everyone needs to wake up.”

Ocasio-Cortez’s office did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment on policing or crime in the Big Apple on Thursday – but she did show up at a rally over the weekend in support of the right for delivery drivers to take bathroom breaks.

Dubbed as a “long-term investment,” the money is one of the largest political donations in recent years, Politico reported, noting political donations of nine figures are exceedingly rare.

The donation will also likely be one of the largest political donations heading into the midterms.

Reportedly, $2.5 million has been donated to Sen. Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) Senate Majority PAC, $1 million to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) House Majority PAC, and $1 million also donated to the Democratic Association of Secretaries of State.

We support voting in precincts, fraud-proof security paper ballots, scrubbing voter rolls before each election, voter I.D, and ‘dumb’ tabulation machines.”

Japan has started to explore the deployment of U.S. military drones to a southwestern base to increase the allies’ eyes in the sky in the region, Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi said Friday.

American MQ-9 drones would be stationed at the Maritime Self-Defense Force’s Kanoya Air Base in Kagoshima Prefecture on a temporary basis, Kishi told reporters.

The potential deployment comes amid an increase in Chinese military activity near Japanese islands in the East China Sea.

The drones would form “part of the Japan-U. S. alliance’s improved vigilance and monitoring capabilities,” said Kishi.
