Failed Obama Rail Project Collapses, Nigeria Purchases Unused Trains

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, Nigeria, visited Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Wednesday to inspect the trains and announce the purchase, he tweeted. The trains will be used for a metro rail project that is under construction in Lagos, Nigeria’s capital and most populous city.
But the trains were built as part of former President Barack Obama’s ambitious plan to develop a highly-accessible high-speed rail system across the U.S., Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) reported. The Obama administration awarded Wisconsin, led by former Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle, $810 million for the project in 2009.
The Department of Transportation, however, canceled the project shortly after former Republican Gov. Scott Walker was elected in 2010. Walker promised to distance the state from the project during his campaign, garnering angry letters from then-Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood.
After the administration nixed the project, it transferred the funds to California for a different rail project. That plan, however, has largely failed, with officials scaling it back and critics dubbing it the “bullet train to nowhere.”
Oregon Officials Float Making Indoor Mask Mandate Permanent

Currently, the Oregon Health Authority’s rule requires individuals, even the fully vaccinated, to wear “masks, face coverings or face shields” in “all indoor spaces.”
That includes “public and private workplaces, businesses, indoor areas open to the public, building lobbies, common or shared spaces, classrooms, elevators, bathrooms, transportation services and other indoor space where people may gather for any purpose,” according to the rule, which is set to expire in February.
Because of that, health officials are expected to “propose making it permanent in order to allow the mandate to remain in place indefinitely,” according to Newsweek.
“None of us want to wear these masks forever, that is not the intent at all,” State Rep. Pam Marsh (D) told KOBI-TV. “It’s to recognize where we’re at in this public health emergency and enable us to continue with those mask requirements.”
White House won’t say if US will lift airport mask requirement as UK plans to ditch mandates

U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Wednesday that England would no longer be mandating citizens wear masks “anywhere” alongside announcing the cessation of other COVID-19 policies in the U.K.’s return to “Plan A.”
“We can return to Plan A in England and allow Plan B regulations to expire. As a result, from the start of Thursday next week, mandatory certification will end,” Johnson said. “Organizations can, of course, choose to use the NHS COVID pass voluntarily, but we will end the compulsory use of COVID safety certification in England.”
Amid the British rollback of COVID restrictions, Fox News Digital asked the White House if the Biden administration planned to remove the national mask mandate for public transportation.
The White House, however, did not respond to Fox News Digital’s questions on if the administration intended to roll back the mandates and if it did not trust the judgment of the American people.
Kentucky mom faces murder charge after baby dies from meth overdose

Curtis was initially charged with abuse of a corpse after a preliminary investigation revealed the baby passed away during the night of Oct. 25 in a home where she was living.
Detectives say Curtis drove to a friend’s house with the dead infant. Upon returning home, she wrapped the boy in a blanket and placed him in the attic.
Curtis allegedly did not make any attempts to call 911 or seek medical assistance for the infant. Friends of Curtis who were concerned about the welfare of the child contacted 911, according to the news release.
VIDEO: Newborn Boy Found Dead in Bag Outside Chicago Fire Station

By the time the baby was discovered, he had already died, according to police.
“If the baby was placed there alive, that baby froze to death. It’s Chicago. It gets cold at night. You can’t leave a baby out to the elements,” Dawn Geras of the Save Abandoned Babies Foundation commented.
Geras noted that after years of advocating for the Safe Haven law and informing the community about it, she felt devastated.
The Illinois law says parents may give up a newborn for adoption by leaving it with employees at a designated safe place and there will be no questions asked, as long as the infant has not been injured and is under 30 days old.
The designated places are hospitals, emergency care locations, police stations, and staffed fire houses.

CURE explains in a press announcement its new report “delves deeply into the latest tactics of the abortion industry to especially target African Americans,” and adds:
Planned Parenthood, the nation’s leading abortion provider, has recently acknowledged and sought to distance itself from their racist founder, Margaret Sanger, yet the intentions of the organization remain the same: promoting abortion in minority communities. They are building mega-clinics and promoting abortion pills in these communities, even as they have exploited the pandemic to make chemical abortions more widely available on college campuses via telemedicine and through the mail.
New Jersey City Councilman Becomes Republican After Democrat Gov Legalizes Abortion Up to Birth

Until now, Williams was the only Democrat member of the Buena Vista Township Committee. A former mayor of the township, he recently informed local Democrat Chairman Quentin McClellan that he plans to run for re-election as a Republican, according to the report.
“I have thought long and hard about this decision, and I am not happy that the governor expanded abortion legislation,” Williams said. “I am pro-life, and I am doing this to have a better shot to stay on council and for religious reasons.”
Williams is part of a growing exodus as the Democrat Party abandons voters on the issue to meet the demands of the powerful abortion lobby. Party leaders now support late-term abortions without limits and taxpayer-funded abortions, both of which a strong majority of Americans oppose.
Atlantic County Democratic Chairman Michael Suleiman called Williams “a charlatan and a coward.”According to the Globe, those were the words Atlantic County Democratic Chairman Michael Suleiman used to describe Williams in response to his party switch.
Elderly man attacked just steps from mayor’s mansion in wealthy NYC enclave

The footage shows the stranger walking between the victim and his companion in the area of East 86th Street and Henderson Place and shoving him to the ground before casually walking away. The victim is then seen lying on the pavement for several seconds.
The NYPD footage then cuts to the suspect flashing what appears to be the middle finger, though it is unclear if the hand signal was directed toward his victim.
NYPD’s Crime Stoppers is now offering a reward of up to $3,500 for information leading police to their suspect.
Starbucks scraps vaccine mandate

Roughly a week after the Supreme Court reversed President’s Biden workplace vaccine mandate, the coffee chain is following suit, according to The Associated Press.
Still, the coffee chain is encouraging all workers to be vaccinated and boosted against the virus.
“I want to emphasize that we continue to believe strongly in the spirit and intent of the mandate,” Culver added. “Thank you to the more than 90 percent of partners who have already disclosed their vaccination status, and to the vast majority who are now fully vaccinated.”
The company is facing a rise in workers wanting to unionize. Last year, employees in New York voted to establish the first unionized restaurant among the coffee chain’s thousands of corporate-run U.S. sites.
Shawn Laval Smith: Suspected killer of Brianna Kupfer has a long history of arrests

Los Angeles police have launched a hunt for Smith, 31, after Kupfer was found stabbed to death at her furniture store job last week. Smith remained on the loose early Wednesday and police have said that he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Smith has a lengthy rap sheet with previous charges out of California, North Carolina and South Carolina. Online records show at least 11 arrests in Charleston, S.C., dating back to 2010, including a pending case for allegedly discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle on Nov. 13, 2019.
In this case, Smith was accused of firing a flare gun into a car occupied by a man and his child. Records show he was released on Nov. 23, 2019, after posting $50,000 bond. The last court action was March 2020.

WHO leading scientist says there is ‘no evidence at all’ that healthy children and adolescents need a COVID-19 booster

During a Tuesday media briefing, Swaminathan said that while she believes there is a certain degree that vaccine immunity wanes amid the Omicron spike, more research needs to be conducted around who actually needs booster shots, Reuters reported.
“There is no evidence right now that healthy children or healthy adolescents need boosters,” Swaminathan said. “No evidence at all.”
“The aim is to protect the most vulnerable, to protect those at highest risk of severe disease and dying, those are our elderly population, immunocompromised with underlying conditions, and also health care workers,” Swaminathan said during the briefing.
Dr. Michael Ryan, executive director of the organization’s health emergencies program, agreed and said that the agency has yet to determine how many doses people will need to be considered fully vaccinated — or vaccinated just enough.

EXCLUSIVE: Arrest Warrants Count As ID For Illegal Migrants At Airport Security, TSA Says

Responding to Republican Texas Rep. Lance Gooden’s Dec. 15 inquiry about illegal migrants flying across the country, TSA Administrator David Pekoske explained that certain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) documents may be considered acceptable forms of alternate identification for non-citizens, including a “Warrant for Arrest of Alien” and a “Warrant of Removal/Deportation.”
“TSA’s response confirms the Biden Administration is knowingly putting our national security at risk,” Gooden told the DCNF. “Unknown and unvetted immigrants shouldn’t even be in the country, much less flying without proper identification.”
Gooden earlier told the DCNF that he was told by a border patrol officer that “they often have to take migrants at their word that they are who they say they are” when issuing DHS documents accepted by TSA as alternate forms of identification.

Biden nominates Democratic donor Jane Hartley as US ambassador to UK

Jane Hartley, a businesswoman and Democratic party fundraiser, has been nominated as the next US ambassador to Britain, continuing a practice by both parties in recent decades of appointing wealthy donors to the prestigious job.
Hartley, who served as ambassador to Paris in the Obama administration, is a business executive, and is married to an investment banker, with a record of large-scale fundraising for Democratic candidates.
She has been a campaign “bundler”, meaning she has solicited and coordinated over $100,000 in contributions to the party from groups of donors.
During the presidential campaign, Joe Biden had said he would break from the practice of handing out ambassadorships as rewards for the wealthy faithful.

Net Stupid: Sadiq Khan Plans to Charge London Drivers by the Mile

The Mayor’s Office has proposed four potential options to expand his net-zero green agenda in London – all of which will hit most London drivers in the pocket.
Khan has also announced as a third option that he is debating whether to impose an estimated £3.50 daily charge on drivers from outside of the capital for travelling in Greater London. The socialist mayor has said that electric cars will be most likely exempt from the charge which will be more than a bus fare, but this is not guaranteed, the Evening Standard reports.
Khan has not officially announced released the exact numbers for the new charges but has retweeted estimated numbers from media outlets that appear to be endorsements of the above figures.
Tax the Rich: World Economic Forum Hears Call for Global Wealth Redistribution

Under the globalist proposal, supranational taxation would start at a rate of two percent on wealth over $5 million and progress to five percent on wealth over $1 billion, generating $2.52 trillion. This would be in addition to – and on top of – whatever taxes are imposed at source by individual national authorities.
That is claimed to be enough to cover the cost of two inoculations and a booster for the world’s estimated eight billion people several times over, according to analysis on 66 countries by Fight Inequality Alliance, Institute for Policy Studies, Oxfam and Patriotic Millionaires.
The group says unless heads of state and government and CEOs acknowledge the “simple, effective solution staring them in the face —taxing the rich,” people around the world “will continue to see their so-called dedication to fixing the world’s problems as little more than a performance.”

French Minister Vacationed in Spain While Imposing ‘Infernal’ COVID Measures

French teaching unions have expressed outrage after it was revealed that the nation’s Education Minister, Jean-Michel Blanquer, had announced “infernal” new COVID restrictions for schools while off vacationing on a Spanish island.
Nearly 80,000 people took to the streets in France last week as teachers took strike action in protest of the “chaotic situation” currently facing the nation’s education system as a result of the health crisis.
The recent revelation has only poured fuel on the fire, with unions denouncing the minister for his “lightness”, while one spokesman saying it provided even further justification for unions to take strike action on Thursday according to a Le Monde report.
