Twitter Blacklists Account Providing Updates on Ghislaine Maxwell Trial
An account set up to monitor the investment portfolio of house speaker Nancy Pelosi following insider trading allegations was also taken down.
The account following the Maxwell trial had over 500,000 followers prior to its suspension. The account following Pelosi’s investments had over 200,000.
This came a few days after a large number of highly-followed anonymous conservative accounts were taken down by the platform, and a week after Parag Agrawal replaced Jack Dorsey as CEO.
Agrawal, the new CEO of Twitter, has said in interviews with the corporate media that free speech is no longer a priority for the platform.
Deal with the Devil: Apple Signed $275 Billion Contract with China to Avoid Crackdown
The Information reports that Apple CEO Tim Cook signed a deal with China in 2016 worth $275 billion to prevent restrictions on its business in the country.
As part of the deal, Apple agreed to help Chinese firms build “the most advanced manufacturing technologies” and invest “many billions of dollars” in the country.
The five-year agreement was designed to placate Chinese government officials who felt that Apple was failing to invest enough in the Chinese economy.
Apple has long done its best to placate China, it was reported in May of 2021 that Apple made a number of concessions to the Chinese government in order to continue operations in the country. The New York Times wrote:
The Times also alleges that while U.S. regulations prohibit Apple from handing data over to Chinese authorities, storing user data on local Chinese storage creates a loophole allowing it. A Chinese firm named Guizhou-Cloud Big Data (GCBD), is actually the legal owner of Apple iCloud customer data in China. Due to this, Chinese authorities can demand access to data from GCBD rather than Apple.

The site locations in an EcoHealth grant application submitted November 5, 2018, for coronavirus research included EcoHealth Alliance in New York City, the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, the Wuhan Institute of Virology, and the Institute of Pathogen Biology in Beijing, China.
“These records are proof positive that US tax dollars were dishonestly used by Fauci’s agency to fund ‘gain of function’ coronavirus research,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.
In August, Judicial Watch obtained records from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) which include an “urgent for Dr. Fauci” email chain which cites ties between the Wuhan lab and the taxpayer-funded EcoHealth Alliance.
The government emails also report that the foundation of U.S. billionaire Bill Gates worked closely with the Chinese government to pave the way for Chinese-produced medications to be sold outside China and help “raise China’s voice of governance by placing representatives from China on important international counsels as high level commitment from China.”
In October 2020, Judicial Watch uncovered emails showing a WHO entity pushing for a press release, approved by Fauci, “especially” supporting China’s COVID-19 response.
California Safeway Fortifies Store to Address Shoplifting Surge
“Like other local businesses, we are working on ways to curtail escalating theft to ensure the wellbeing of our employees and to foster a welcoming environment for our customers. Their safety remains our top priority,” Wendy Gutshall, director of public and government affairs for Safeway’s Northern California Division, said in a statement emailed to the Chronicle. “These long-planned security improvements were implemented with those goals in mind.”
San Francisco Supervisor Rafael Mandelman is supervisor in the city whose district includes the Market Street Safeway and he said that theft at the store is “out of control.”
“They are doing it regretfully because it makes for a less enjoyable experience for customers but they feel that they have to,” Mandelman said.
Like other California retailers facing a surge in shoplifting, the store has security guards manning the entrance and exit doors and it keep items like toiletries, candles, and alcohol in locked containers.

The drastic measure — mentioned in a new internal memo circulating amongst staff — is just an option on the table at this point, according to WLS. Last weekend, violence plagued Chicago’s Loop neighborhood and officers have been ordered this week to cancel upcoming days off “to address current crime patterns.”
“In the event of civil unrest and looting, area deputy chiefs and commanders should identify mobilization points,” the memo reportedly reads, noting that brass should designate special patrols to retail corridors.
In this past weekend’s unrest in the Loop neighborhood, two teens aged 12 and 15 were reported shot, dozens of young people flooded the area, fights broke out, police made 21 arrests of youths, a police officer suffered a broken arm, another officer was injured, and a convenience store owner was punched in the face.

Why the Russiagate Scandal Outranks the Rest
Everyone knew it was a political operation: Declassified notes showed that then-CIA Director John Brennan briefed President Obama in July 2016 that Clinton planned to tie Trump to Russia as “a means of distracting the public from her use of a private email server.”
Congressional Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Adam Schiff – who falsely claimed to have seen “more than circumstantial evidence” of Trump/Russia collusion – amplified the smears.
Leading peddlers of the hoax – including Brennan, Clapper, Pelosi, Schiff and Sullivan – have paid no price for their actions. To date, no one has conducted probing interviews with Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama about their roles in the scandal.
Engineered by broad swaths of the government and media, the effort to paint a sitting president as a foreign agent alone makes Russiagate the worst scandal in American history.
But it is this second, still ongoing phase – this willful effort to deny what happened, this refusal to hold the perpetrators accountable – that presents the most serious danger to our nation.

Japanese tourists visit International Space Station
Fashion tycoon Yusaku Maezawa and producer Yozo Hirano, who plans to film his mission, blasted off for the International Space Station in a Russian Soyuz spacecraft along with Russian cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin.
Maezawa and Hirano are scheduled to spend 12 days in space. The two are the first self-paying tourists to visit the space station since 2009.
A company that organized the flight said Maezawa compiled a list of 100 things to do in space after asking the public for ideas.
The list includes “simple things about daily life to maybe some other fun activities, to more serious questions as well,” Space Adventures President Tom Shelley said.
The tycoon has also booked a flyby around the moon aboard Elon Musk’s Starship that is tentatively scheduled in the next few years. He’ll be joined on that trip by eight contest winners.
