EXCLUSIVE: Innocent black man, 61, who was jailed for raping author Alice Sebold after she wrongly identified him had NO idea she made millions off the story while he lived in windowless squalor after finishing 16-year jail sentence

The innocent black man wrongly convicted of raping The Lovely Bones author Alice Sebold in 1981 had no idea that she used the story to kickstart her literary career and has been living in ‘squalor’ since he got out of prison while she has made millions in book sales, DailyMail.com has learned exclusively.

Anthony Broadwater, 61, was convicted of raping Sebold in 1982. He spent 16 years in prison and was released in 1998. Since then, he has lived quietly with his wife in Syracuse, New York, in a derelict apartment.

On Monday, his conviction was overturned after a producer working on a film adaptation of Lucky, Sebold’s memoir about the rape, hired a private investigator and attorneys to work on an appeal.

Sebold identified a different man as her rapist in a police lineup in 1981, but she was steered to Broadwater by the police department and prosecutors. They also used a form of hair analysis to convict Broadwater that would not have been relied on in today’s courts.

Ohio attorney, 31, is charged with kidnap ‘after forging diary entry which cost a mother custody of her child’:

An Ohio attorney has been indicted on nearly four dozen criminal charges, including kidnapping and a slew of forgery counts, after prosecutors say he doctored a journal entry that caused a mother to temporarily lose custody of her child.

Sean Porter, 31, of Cleveland, faces one count each of kidnaping and interference with custody, and 22 counts each of forgery and tampering with records.

Porter separately faces disciplinary actions for allegedly having sex with two ‘vulnerable’ female clients while they were in the process of getting divorces.

The criminal case against Porter, formerly an associate at Barr, Jones and Associates, stems from an August 8, 2021, custody hearing in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Division.

NYC landlord giving renters credit up to $1000 for local shopping to help stimulate small businesses

“For the last year, I’m thinking about what I can do myself to help the city to make it better, to bring it back to where it was… and I think like you can always talk about things and you can suggest ideas, you can criticize but I felt like I really need to do something,”  HAP Investments CEO Eran Polack said.

When Polack was walking with his son, wanting to purchase football gloves for him, he said he couldn’t find a store to buy them.

“Like there are no stores. You can only buy it online,” Polack said.

After receiving a “note” at one of his buildings from a struggling retail store in his neighborhood – New York City’s economy has suffered drastically during the coronavirus pandemic – Polack said he wondered how he could lend a hand.

Video of Texas police officers using stun guns, pepper spray on students ‘lacked context,’ officials say

Officials in a Texas city responded to video of police using stun guns and pepper spray on high school students during a planned walkout last week, saying the footage “lacked context necessary” to understand everything that unfolded in the chaos.

“This demonstration on Friday was not peaceful and caused a major disruption,” Gallagher said in video posted to social media.

“In one incident, not currently shown on social media, a large group of students attempted to break into an administrator’s office in pursuit of targeted individuals who were in genuine fear for their safety.”

Cornelious said that one student assaulted a male police officer, while another student assaulted a female officer during the commotion. Police told FOX4 Dallas-Fort Worth that one officer was taken to a hospital, but they did not elaborate on any injuries.

Law enforcement and mental health professionals were sent to the home of Minnesota Vikings player Everson Griffen early Wednesday morning after the defensive end made several alarming posts on his social media claiming that people were trying to kill him.

Minnetrista Police Department released a statement Wednesday saying that officers were called to Griffen’s home located in the 5700 block of Hardscrabble Circle at around 3 a.m. after he called 911 saying “someone was inside his home and that he needed help from the police.”

Police said in the statement that “law and enforcement and psychologists” have been on the scene since 7 a.m. but that Griffen has “refused” to come out. They noted that he is alone inside his residence.

NY school district offers remote learning due to gun violence, not coronavirus

There have been at least six incidents of shots being fired in the town since Nov. 17, 2021.  There were two shootings reported just this week.

The school district allowed parents to keep their kids at home Tuesday and Wednesday and use virtual learning.

Just last week, 4 teens were wounded in a shooting just blocks from Newburgh Free Academy.

Police say there has been a 19% jump in violent crime in Newburgh compared to the same time last year.

Police said Katrina Alspaugh, 51, first caused a scene Sunday at the security checkpoint at McCarran International Airport when she tried to punch another passenger who complained she wasn’t wearing a face covering, KLAS reported.

Alspaugh was uncooperative with responding officers, according to police, but was eventually released because the other passenger refused to press charges, FOX5 Las Vegas reported.

Alspaugh then boarded an Allegiant Air flight — only to be removed by an airline worker because she allegedly wouldn’t comply with a federal requirement to wear a face mask while on the plane.

New York City man, who was out on parole for a prior gun-related conviction, on Tuesday walked up to a 13-year-old boy on his way to school and shot him in the neck, authorities said.

Hubert Wiggs, 36, was not only out on parole for a 2010 firearms and illegal drug conviction, but he was also out on bail for possession of an illegal firearm in 2019, NYPD Assistant Chief Kenneth Lehr said Tuesday during a presser following the incident.

“So this individual today is on the street while on parole for a firearm, while out on bail for another firearm,” Lehr said. “And today he’s walking around the Bronx with a firearm. And we have a 13-year-old boy shot in the neck, and for the grace of God he’s alive here today.”

District Judge Michael Craig on Tuesday sentenced former Bossier City officer Terry Yetman to four years for each of five counts of sexual abuse of animals and a concurrent sentence of 20 years for the child porn charge.

Yetman, 42, surrendered himself to the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Department in 2018. Officers charged him with sexually abusing his dog and possessing pornographic images of a person doing the same. He faced a subsequent child porn charge in 2019, Bossier Now reported.

State police took custody of the dog, named Boss, and sent him to a rescue in Texas. Bossier police ultimately fired Yetman, who remained in prison since his arrest.

Yetman, 40, pled guilty to the charges in August as part of a plea deal with the state, which led to the dismissal of dozens of additional charges, KTBS 3 reported.

Democrats have said, maybe 10,000 times, it was an “insurrection.”

But what if it isn’t true?

A new movie, “Capitol Punishment,” is being released on Thanksgiving Day that reveals first-person accounts of what looked, on that day at that location, like “a trap.”

Those who were visited by the FBI recall being treated as domestic terrorists, a label that Democrats in Congress quickly applied to them, and have continued to repeat.

Filmmakers Nick Searcy and Burgard said they wanted to expose the truth – and the government’s politically driven tactics, in the movie.

MTG wants to award Congressional Gold Medal to Kyle Rittenhouse

Marjorie Taylor Greene introduced a bill on Wednesday that would award Kyle Rittenhouse the congressional gold medal for ‘protecting the community of Kenosha’.

The text of the HR6070 reads it is intended ‘[t]o award a Congressional Gold Medal to Kyle H. Rittenhouse, who protected the community of Kenosha, Wisconsin, during a Black Lives Matter (BLM) riot on August 25, 2020.’

Greene reposted an image

‘Two men I greatly admire along with a mother who has had to endure more than she ever thought she could.

Kyle thanks Pres Trump for two most important things the left is trying to destroy.

We must always uphold our Constitution, defend our 2A, & stop our enemies who hate them.

White House REAFFIRMS Biden’s bid to end cash bail after Waukesha

Biden issued a sweeping statement on his website during the presidential campaign on ending cash bail.

‘Cash bail is the modern-day debtors’ prison. The cash bail system incarcerates people who are presumed innocent. And, it disproportionately harms low-income individuals. Biden will lead a national effort to end cash bail and reform our pretrial system by putting in place, instead, a system that is fair and does not inject further discrimination or bias into the process,’ his website said.

A White House official defended the policy on Wednesday.

According to a White House official, ‘Ending cash bail will not automatically put people charged with crimes on the streets. It just means that whether you get bail should be based on the threat you pose, and not how much money you have in your bank account.’

Launched this week, the ad features Amy Miles saying, “As somebody who survived an abortion, I would want to tell the Supreme Court that my life mattered.”

The ad, which will run through next week on broadcast and cable networks in the Washington, D.C., media market, is part of a broader effort by anti-abortion groups to make their case before the Supreme Court hears oral arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. Dobbs has been portrayed by both sides as an opportunity for the court to radically alter standards set by landmark decisions in Roe and Casey.

The ad comes from the anti-abortion organization Susan B. Anthony (SBA) List and is part a $10 million campaign, which includes $2.5 million for television and digital ads designed to highlight the humanity of life in the womb.

Other SBA List ads feature a woman who was adopted, a doctor who regrets performing abortions, and a physician who cares for pregnant women and their children.

Failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on Tuesday praised the legislative accomplishments of President Biden while appearing to claim that everyday Americans didn’t understand or “appreciate” them.

During an appearance on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show,” Clinton complained about the successful “exploiting” of social media misinformation by Republicans, blaming the lack of “gatekeepers” and “people with a historic perspective” to help Americans understand what they were seeing.

Earlier this month, Biden appeared to question everyday Americans’ understanding of how the supply chain worked and how it affected the availability of goods and services while answering reporters’ questions at a news conference.

Last week, Fox Business host Mike Rowe argued that the media was also playing a significant role in “gaslighting” people across the country when he asserted that they were being told things affecting them, such as high gas prices, weren’t actually happening.

Trump gives Kerik privilege waiver, wants Jan. 6 panel to see election irregularities evidence

“The Unselect Committee issued a subpoena to Bernie Kerik, an American Patriot and great former Police Commissioner of New York City, for its Jan. 6th Witch Hunt, but didn’t realize what they were demanding is a massive trove of evidence of Voter Fraud,” Trump said.

“According to Bernie’s lawyer, these documents show significant indicators of fraud in the 2020 Presidential Election Scam, but have remained hidden from the public.

It is exactly what the Unselect Committee should be interested in—if this was a real investigation,” the president added.

“Bernie wants to comply with the subpoena with a public hearing, and asked me to waive attorney-client privilege so Bernie can testify and provide documents, which I grant him. The Unselect Committee will not like what they asked for!”

NEW: Voter Rolls in 5 States Haven’t Been Cleaned in YEARS

Judicial Watch sent letters to election officials in 14 counties and five states—Arkansas, California, Illinois, New York, and Oregon—notifying them of evident violations of the National Voter Registration Act of 1993.

The letters detail how these states’ own reported data show that their counties removed an “absurdly low” or “impossible” number of inactive voter registrations under key provisions of the NVRA.

The letters threaten federal lawsuits unless the violations are corrected in a timely fashion.

Biden shut down the Keystone XL. Is THIS pipeline next on his list?

Keystone XL pipeline developers now are seeking 15 BILLION dollars for damages they say were caused by President Biden’s cancellation of the project on his first day in office.

So will this deter the president from cancelling similar ones?

Congressman Tim Walberg from Michigan joins Glenn to detail the left’s once reported plans to cancel the Line 5 pipeline, which ‘provides the lifeblood of energy to the Midwest.’

The Biden administration has said it’s currently not on their agenda, but only time will tell if they revisit a possible cancellation again soon…

Democratic cities that enacted bail reform see rise in crime, repeat offenses

In Los Angeles, District Attorney George Gascon eliminated cash bail altogether last year. Since then, murders and shootings in the city have risen sharply year-over-year, with homicides rising 26% in the first six months of the year.

In New York City, criminals are being put back on the streets after the state government enacted bail reform, which eliminated bail altogether for many crimes.

Shootings are also reportedly rising in upstate cities like Rochester, N.Y. A Monroe County public defender attributed the crime rise in the county to bail reform.

Despite the crime wave in major cities, progressive Democratic lawmakers such as Michigan Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib and New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continue to push bail reform on a national scale.

Commentary/Opinion:

Our partisan FBI failed again, costing taxpayers $130 million (and 17 innocent people their lives)

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, once comprised of the best and brightest in law enforcement, has for some time now been more concerned with pushing the Democrat agenda than stopping criminals and terrorists.

Perhaps the FBI was simply too fatigued from their partisan political activities to go after malefactors and terrorists. The Bureau certainly did its best to cover up Hillary Clinton’s crimes against national security, and let’s not forget the Feebs’ enthusiastic Russia Collusion coup against President Trump.

They likewise did a great job tormenting Trump associates Gen. Mike Flynn, Roger Stone, and Steve Bannon, all while shielding the unseemly contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop from the American public.

Let’s examine the massacre at Parkland High in 2018.

Prior to the shooting that took seventeen lives, the FBI received a telephone tip that the eventual shooter, Nikolas Cruz, had purchased guns and planned to shoot up a school. “I know he’s going to explode,” the caller warned.
