Amazon Blocks Ad for Book Critical of Black Lives Matter

Amazon blocked an ad for a book critical of the Black Lives Matter movement, the latest example of the retail giant censoring conservative voices.
The online retailer prevented the Heritage Foundation from purchasing ads to promote Mike Gonzalez’s BLM: The Making of a New Marxist Revolution. Amazon told Heritage that the ad “contains book/s or content that is not allowed,” specifically “content that revolves around controversial or highly debated social topics is not permitted.”
Amazon later reversed its decision and posted the ad, telling the Washington Free Beacon that its “policies were not enforced correctly in this case” and that the employees responsible would receive “additional training.”
Amazon refused to explain the nature of the error. But in recent months, the company has used its policies to suppress conservative books.
REVEALED: Two Fed presidents with insider knowledge of US monetary policy sold millions of dollars of stock in blue-chip firms including Amazon, Apple, and Google last year, prompting ethics review

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell has ordered a sweeping review of the ethics rules governing financial holdings and dealings by senior officials at the US central bank after two presidents sold millions in stock options last year.
Powell ordered the review late last week, the spokesperson said in an emailed statement, following recent reports that two of the Fed system’s 12 regional reserve bank presidents had been active investors during 2020, a notably volatile year for asset prices as the country battled the COVID-19 pandemic.
Last year, Robert Kaplan, president of the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank traded millions of dollars in stock in companies such as Apple, Amazon, and Google.
Eric Rosengren, president of the Boston Fed, traded in stocks and real estate investment trusts, according to financial disclosure forms.
Pfizer to Seek FDA EUA for COVID Vaccine for 5- to 11-Year-Olds in Coming Weeks + More

Children as young as five years old may soon get the COVID-19 vaccine. Friday, Pfizer announced that it would submit its clinical trials for their 5 to 11-year-olds to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the coming weeks.
This March, Pfizer began testing 4,500 children in a three-age group trial for their COVID-19 vaccine.
The groups include school-age children from five to eleven, preschool age children from two to five, and infants from six months to two years old.
The shots haven’t been proven to work safely for youngsters, and child volunteers in later-stage trials may get a placebo, rather than the vaccine. Yet parents said they were willing to take the chance and submit their children to the trials’ blood draws, COVID-19 tests and appointments to safeguard them, as well as their family and classmates.
American BABIES could be given low-dose of Pfizer’s jab this winter

Pfizer‘s Covid vaccine could be rolled out to babies as young as six months in the US this winter, under plans being drawn up by the pharmaceutical giant.
In a move likely to cause international controversy, the company intends to apply for authorisation to immunise American infants within the next two months.
The timeline will depend on the findings of in-house trials looking into whether the vaccines are safe and effective in youngsters aged six months to five years.
Frank D’Amelio, chief financial officer at Pfizer, told an industry conference yesterday that the firm plans to ‘go file’ by November, the Financial Times reports.

US-Mexico Border Arrests Top 200,000 for Second Straight Month

Border agents apprehended 208,887 people, a slight dip from July but up over four times from August 2020 and three times from August 2019, the data from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) show.
Most of the illegal immigrants caught were single adults, nearly 100,000, while approximately 80,000 people who were arrested were part of a family unit. About 18,500 unaccompanied minors, or illegal immigrant children without a responsible adult, were apprehended.
The number of border arrests had gone up for 16 straight months, starting during the Trump administration, after hitting a low of just 17,106 in April 2020, shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic started.
Inspector general says the DHS is putting staff and border towns at risk by not screening migrants for Covid when they arrive in the country

‘Without stronger COVID-19 prevention measures in place, DHS is putting its workforce, support staff, communities, and migrants at greater risk of contracting the virus,’ the DHS Office of Inspector General wrote in a report released Wednesday.
The report specifically investigated a lack of Covid-19 testing at DHS facilities. It found that Customs and Border Protection (CBP) does not have the resources to test migrants who enter their custody and relies on public health systems in surrounding towns to do so.
The report reviewed how law enforcement arrest and detain migrants at the southern border from March through May after being tipped off by a DHS employee complaint about the lack of Covid-19 testing.

Politics:
America’s Tiananmen Square Moment

Now, what many of us suspected is out in the open – the reason the Democrats have aggressively attacked protesting citizens and tried to inflate the 1/6 events far beyond what they really were is because they needed cover for the real insurrection they were conducting behind the scenes.
We have entered an extra-constitutional period where those in power play the “catch me if you can/try and stop me” end-arounds because they know that by the time our legal systems catch up with them, the deeds will already be done.
The American left has destroyed our national sovereignty through de facto open borders, engineered losses in wars and created international embarrassments for and of America. They have brought us low in the eyes of the world.
What we assumed “could never happen here” has happened here – and not while we slept, but while we watched – and that is perhaps the most depressing and galling thought.

Democratic Officials Continue to Threaten Tech Companies to Censor More
Over the last year, Democratic Party members of Congress have become increasingly explicit that Silicon Valley giants must either censor the material Democrats dislike or suffer legal and regulatory reprisals.
The most recent example is one of the most egregious yet: Senator Elizabeth Warren and Congressman Adam Schiff demanded that Amazon stop promoting books on COVID they find offensive.
The consequences — both political and legal — are grave.

China threatens to sail its navy into Hawaiian waters as US and Australia announce defence pact – days after flotilla of four Chinese vessels sail past Alaska

China today threatened to send its Navy into Hawaiian waters in the latest round of sabre rattling in the Pacific after Australia, the US and Britain announced a new naval alliance in the region.
Four Chinese vessels have already been spotted sailing off the coast of Alaska this week in a display of naval power amid increasing tensions as a global nuclear submarine pact was signed to take on Beijing.
A Chinese guided-missile cruiser, guided-missile destroyer, general intelligence vessel, and an auxiliary vessel were spotted off the coast of Alaska’s Aleutian Islands during surveillance operations in the Bering Sea.
The provocation came as China‘s state-run newspaper threatened to send warships to Hawaii and Guam in response to US moves in the South China Sea.

Taiwan to Boost Arms Spending by $8.7 Billion, Warns ‘Severe Threat’ From China

The Taiwanese government announced on Thursday it proposed to bolster its defense spendings by $8.69 billion ($240 billion Taiwan dollars) over the next five years, citing an urgent need to improve military equipment in the face of “severe threats” coming from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen, reelected by a landslide last year on a pledge to stand up to the CCP, has made modernizing Taiwan’s mainly U.S.-equipped military a priority, turning it into a “porcupine,” both highly mobile and hard to attack.
Deputy Defence Minister Wang Shin-lung told reporters the new arms would all be made domestically and will include cruise missiles and warships.

Leaders of the Russian-led Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) met for a summit in the Tajik capital on September 16, to be followed a day later by a gathering of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which includes China.
The talks come as Moscow and Beijing move to assert themselves as key players in the region following the rapid collapse of the Western-backed government in Kabul at the end of a 20-year-old U.S.-led military mission in Afghanistan.
Both regional security blocs have been viewed as Moscow’s and Beijing’s counters to U.S. geopolitical dominance.
