Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin confirmed reports of beatings of U.S. citizens at the Taliban’s hand on Friday, calling it “unacceptable.”

The UK Guardian reported on Thursday that Australian citizens were “beaten, hit with weapons and whipped by Taliban militants when they presented their documents and insisted there were flights waiting for them.”

Taliban forces reportedly repeatedly rejected one man’s Australian passport, insisting it was “fake” or invalid. The Associated Press suggested “many of the Taliban fighters could not read the documents” they were rejecting.

Taliban fighters used guns, chains, and whips to keep Afghans from reaching the airport, according to footage surfacing from the scene:

Broward Circuit Judge Martin Fein declined to dismiss the child negligence charges against former Broward County Deputy Scot Peterson, the Sun Sentinel reported.

Prosecutors have said that Peterson failed to come to the rescue as Cruz was making his way through the school’s hallways. The law that Peterson is accused of breaking specifically applies to caregivers, but defense attorneys argued during a hearing Wednesday that a law enforcement officer doesn’t fit the legal definition of a caregiver.

Prosecutors are arguing that school resources officers are inherently different from other law enforcement officers and should be considered caregivers.

Nearly 15 Million Mail-in-Ballots Unaccounted for in 2020 Election, Report Says

Public Interest Legal Foundation filed a research brief that alleges because of the coronavirus pandemic last year, various U.S. states “hastily pushed traditionally in-person voters to mail ballots while, at the same time, trying to learn how to even administer such a scenario.”

PILF President J. Christian Adams, who previously served as a U.S. Justice Department civil rights attorney, said the results of their research should put an end to mail-in voting.

“These figures detail how the 2020 push to mail voting needs to be a one-year experiment,” Adams said in a statement.

“Some of the counties with the least experience in administering mail voting rejected the most ballots nationwide. If continued, 2020-style chaos will become the norm,” he added.

Kinyon’s recorded comments have made news across the country as she talks at great length on a series of subjects.

She also tells students that “most of” their parents “are dumber than you,” and they don’t need to do everything their parents say or believe what they believe.

At least one student can be heard debating with the teacher, although it was not clear exactly what the student said. In response, Kinyon says:

“You can believe what you want to believe, but keep it quiet in here because I’m probably going to make fun of you.”

Classic Stossel: Stupid in America

In some places, charter schools bucked the unions, and got results. Inner-city kids do well on benchmark tests.

They are excited to learn! When Stossel tells fourth graders that school is boring, they yell at him, “No, it’s not!” Says one boy: “Reading is rockin’ awesome!”

Stossel reports on the innovations at the Success Charter Network and Harlem Village Academy in New York, and at the American Indian Public Charter School in Oakland, California.

“Let’s destroy the system… create a system that serves kids,” says charter school director Deborah Kenny.

Hurricane Katrina made that experiment possible by destroying much of New Orleans. Now 70% of New Orleans students attend charters, and they’re learning more.

Donald Trump: Leaving Americans to Die in Afghanistan Is ‘Dereliction of Duty’

“Leaving Americans behind for death is an unforgivable dereliction of duty, which will go down in infamy,” Trump’s statement read regarding President Joe Biden’s chaotic evacuation from the failed state of Afghanistan.

Trump also criticized Biden on Thursday by explaining how a proper Afghan withdrawal should have been conducted.

“First you bring out all of the American citizens. Then you bring out ALL equipment. Then you bomb the bases into smithereens,” Trump’s statement said. “AND THEN YOU BRING OUT THE MILITARY.”

As America struggles to protect its citizens, Russia has offered to evacuate Afghans, while the French are running operations to rescue foreign nationals in Kabul outside its embassy.

Joe Biden’s media allies have ‘turned on him’

Documentary filmmaker Ami Horowitz says Joe Biden’s allies in the media have for the most part “turned on him” and his administration.

“We saw that in the George Stephanopoulos interview, we saw it in the New York Times, The Washington Post,” he told Sky News Australia.

According to Mr Horowitz, Biden’s allies in the media said they “can’t cover” for the US President over the Afghanistan withdrawal.

“I was pleasantly surprised they did, and this has translated quite poorly for the president in the polls.

Video Allegedly Shows Taliban Executing Police Chief

The video shows the police chief was bound, blindfolded, forced to kneel, murdered by Taliban gunmen, and left lying in the sand.

The video was initially “shared through a Taliban-related network” and then posted on Twitter by Nasser Waziri, a security adviser to the fallen Afghan government and former BBC journalist, Australia’s News.com reported. The authenticity of the video has not been independently confirmed.

“He was surrounded by the Taliban and had no choice but to surrender last night. The Taliban targeted Achakzai because he was a high-ranking intelligence official,” Waziri said.

“Gen. Achakzai, in his early 60s, was an avowed enemy of the Taliban and known as a seasoned fighter in the long-running conflict between the group and the forces of the Afghan civil government, which fell at the weekend,” the UK Daily Mail reported Thursday.

NATO Promises Afghan Evacuation Help

“More than 18,000 people have been flown out of Kabul since the Taliban took over Afghanistan’s capital, a NATO official said Friday, pledging to redouble evacuation efforts as criticism of the West’s handling of the crisis intensified,” Reuters reported.

Though many foreign nationals have been saved, thousands of Americans remain stranded behind enemy lines with Taliban checkpoints, blocking passage to the U.S. controlled airport with 6,000 troops within the perimeter. Media reports suggest anywhere from 10,000 to 40,000 Americans are in the country.

The Associated Press (AP) reported Friday that President Biden is struggling to evacuate all Americans from the failed state before the August 31 deadline. Extending the deadline would demand “the Taliban’s acquiescence.”

As American citizens remain trapped, Russia has offered to evacuate Afghans, while the French are running operations to rescue foreign nationals in Kabul outside their embassy.

The Greek foreign minister said during a meeting of his counterparts from across the European Union member states that the bloc needs to prioritise evacuating EU nationals from Afghanistan.

Mr Dendias added that the EU must protect its external border, of which Greece forms a part, and avoid a new humanitarian crisis, newspaper Proto Thema reports.

He added that the EU needed a unified and coordinated approach to migration and that member states must make it clear to countries like Turkey that they would not let them instrumentalise the issue.

National Curriculum designed to program students into ‘activists’

Australia’s national curriculum – implemented in the hopes of a more “equitable, respectful and sustainable future” – has turned school students into activists, says writer Tony Thomas.

“The sustainability has to be worked in through the 2008 national curriculum into all subjects, and when you look at the fine print, it includes empower young people to design action that will lead to a more equitable, respectful and sustainable future,” he told Sky News host Cory Bernardi.

“In other words, kids are now programmed to be activists and this has now run right through all sorts of courses, even English, science, everything.

“Kids are marked and graded according to how activist they are.”

Israel has two major maritime fronts, as well as secondary-ones (such as) the Sea of Galilee – which used to border Syria- and the Dead Sea, which Israel shares with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

However, the two main bodies of water of concern to Israel are of course the Mediterranean and the Red Sea and its southern approaches, all the way to Bab-el-Mandeb and beyond.
