Amid increasing calls for mandatory vaccines, critics note past anti-vax rhetoric by press, Dems
Media critics have unearthed “anti-vaccine” rhetoric from prominent Democrats and liberal pundits amid calls for more Americans to get the COVID-19 vaccine and even make it mandatory.
In recent weeks, liberal networks have offered guests and analysts platforms to demand mandatory vaccines.
Conservative commentator Drew Holden provided a thread of Democrats and media members last year who he felt undermined vaccine confidence while President Donald Trump was still in the White House.
Journalist Glenn Greenwald was among the analysts who shared Holden’s thread, accusing Democrats of casting doubt on the vaccine as a means to hurt Trump’s reelection chances.
ACCESS SUSPENDED: Critical Race Theory Whistleblower David Johnson Gives Update On Employment
Hasbro insider David Johnson’s work access has been suspended pending an internal investigation after he leaked internal “Critical Race Theory” employee training to Project Veritas this week.
Jason Pyle, who serves as Harvey Nash president, informed Johnson on a phone call of his suspension.
“At this moment, your assignment with Hasbro — your access to all company related information has been suspended for the moment while they do this investigation,” Pyle continued.
Report: Philadelphia’s Electric Bus Fleet in Complete Shambles
The city paid $24 million for the 25 new Proterra buses, subsidized in part by a $2.6 million federal grant. Philadelphia defended the investment with claims that the electric buses would require less maintenance than standard combustion engine counterparts.
“There’s a lot less moving parts on an electric bus than there is on an internal combustion engine,” SEPTA chief Jeffrey Knueppel said in June 2019. Knueppel retired from the post just months later.
Similar problems have been found in other cities that partnered with Proterra.
Duluth, Minn., which, like Philadelphia, waitedthree years for its Proterra buses to be delivered, ultimately pulled its seven buses from service “because their braking systems were struggling on Duluth’s hills, and a software problem was causing them to roll back when accelerating uphill from a standstill,” according to the Duluth Monitor.
Federal Judge Upholds Indiana University’s Vaccine Mandate
The attorney for the students who objected to the rule commented: “What we have here is the government forcing you to do something that you strenuously object to and have your body invaded in the process.”
The lawsuit was filed in June after Indiana University announced the month prior that vaccination would be a condition of re-entry on campus in the fall for its 100,000 students, faculty, and and staff.
The university said that students who refused to be inoculated would be prohibited from participating in campus activities and would have their class registrations cancelled.
Judge Damon R. Leichty of the U.S. District Court for Northern Indiana decided Monday that it is the right of the institution to promote safety on its grounds by requiring vaccination and declined to grant a preliminary injunction against the policy.

56 Shot, 11 Killed, During Weekend in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s Chicago
Breitbart News reported at least 25 people were shot Friday into Saturday night alone, and three of those shooting victims succumbed to their wounds.
On Monday morning ABC 7 / Chicago Sun-Times noted the number of shooting victims had risen to 56, with 11 dead.
Six people were shot in one incident late Saturday “in the 5000-block of West Ohio Street.” The individuals were standing outside a location where a party had been held when someone inside an SUV opened fire on them. One of the wounded was a 12-year-old girl.
Another one of the wounded was a 15-year-old girl.
‘Law & Order: SVU’ actor Isaiah Stokes indicted for murder in New York shooting
The 41-year-old actor was charged with murder in the second degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree for the fatal shooting of a Queens Village man in February 2021, according to a press release from Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.
DA Katz said, “The defendant is accused of unloading nearly eleven shots during this brazen afternoon shooting. Gun violence is all too prevalent in our neighborhoods. We will not allow it to become the norm.”
DA Katz said video surveillance footage shows Stokes exiting a parked car around 2:45 p.m. on February 7, 2021.
He then approaches the driver’s side window of a parked white Jeep Grand Cherokee and fires eleven gunshots into the car hitting Tyrone Jones, 37, of Queens Village, who died of his injuries.
Sports Illustrated announces transgender model will appear on swimsuit-issue cover
Sports Illustrated has revealed three separate covers for the models featured on its annual swimsuit issue, including the magazine’s first-ever transgender cover model, Leyna Bloom.
“I think more agencies, more movies, more films, more fashion shows need to not only hire trans talent but also make sure that the people they are hiring — the crew, the casting directors — represent that, also,” added Bloom, a male who identifies as female.
Bloom tweeted upon the issue’s release, “This moment heals a lot of pain in the world.
We deserve this moment; we have waited millions of years to show up as survivors and be seen as full humans filled with wonder.”
Driver arrested for DUI with infant found in front seat with no child seat, no seat belt
LASD’s Norwalk Station said the driver was seen traveling the wrong direction on the highway, heading straight for oncoming vehicles.
“An infant child was found in the front seat with no child seat or seat belt,” the station wrote on Twitter.
A deputy on the scene also said they found drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
The child is now in the care of the Department of Children and Family Services. Authorities did not release information on how the infant and the female driver were related.

Biden administration sends home first Guantanamo detainee
The detainee has been identified as Abdullatif Nasser, a Moroccan man in his 50s who has returned to his home country, according to the Associated Press.
Nasser was cleared for release in 2016 by a review board. However, former President Trump never authorized his release.
The Pentagon says Nasser no longer posed a threat to U.S. national security.
Nasser was placed in police custody upon his arrival in Morocco. The Moroccan government said he would be investigated on suspicion of terrorist acts.
Florida man who carried a Trump flag through the Senate gets 8 months in prison
Various footage from January 6 shows Hodgkins inside the Capitol and Senate building with a large Donald Trump flag. He also brought along a backpack containing eye goggles, white latex gloves, and rope, according to the government’s sentencing memorandum .
Assistant US Attorney Mona Sedky said on Monday that while he didn’t personally damage the building, he was with the mob that did.
“January 6 was an act of domestic terrorism,” Sedky said, and noted that while Hodgkins himself did not engage in domestic terrorism himself, “he was part of the parcel enacting domestic terrorism going on around him.”

Nikole Hannah-Jones said Cuba ‘most equal’ Western country in podcast
Hannah-Jones made the eyebrow-raising comments about the Communist regime in a 2019 chat with Ezra Klein, the National Post reported last week.
“If you want to see the most equal, multiracial democ … it’s not a democracy — the most equal, multiracial country in our hemisphere, it would be Cuba,” Hannah-Jones replied, citing socialism as her reason.
“Cuba has the least inequality between black and white people of any place really in the hemisphere,” she continued.
Hannah-Jones’ comments have resurfaced as fed-up Cubans take to the streets to demand freedom from the dictatorship, adequate access to food and medicine, and the resignation of President Miguel Díaz-Canel.
The demonstrations, which began last Sunday, mark the largest public display of disapproval against the Communist regime in decades.

GOP lawmakers hold California protest after 3 cancellations
Republican House Reps. Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene held a protest Saturday after a third venue in California canceled their event.
Instead, they held a protest outside City Hall in Riverside, where one of the events was canceled. An Anaheim spokesman had announced the latest cancellation hours before the rally was scheduled to begin.
“Here’s what they need to understand,” Green told the crowd, according to the Press-Enterprise. “We’re going to put America first, we will not back down.”
Gaetz spoke next, saying, “Do you know why they’re so afraid of Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene? Because we fight for you, not them,” according to the newspaper.
Shouts and arguments broke out between the lawmakers’ supporters and counterprotesters who gathered nearby.

China threatens to nuke Japan over Taiwan in video played on CCP-sanctioned channel
The video, which appeared on a channel approved by the CCP, singles out Japan as the one exception to China’s policy to not use nuclear weapons against non-nuclear powers.
“We will use nuclear bombs first,” the video said. “We will use nuclear bombs continuously. We will do this until Japan declares unconditional surrender for the second time.”
The CCP claims that it will “liberate Taiwan,” and it warns against Japan deploying “one soldier, one plane or one ship.”
The video was deleted from Chinese platform Xigua after gaining 2 million views, but copies were uploaded to YouTube and Twitter, Taiwan News reported.
There’s been a ‘reminder’ that war is becoming ‘more and more likely every single day’
Liberal Senator Jim Molan says there has been “a reminder” that war is just not possible but is in fact “becoming more and more likely every single day”.
“We’ve just seen the most appalling threats made by China towards Japan that they will use nuclear weapons against them,” Mr Molan told Sky News host Paul Murray.
“They’ve made similar threats to us,” he said. Mr Molan also discussed the fact that a second Chinese spy ship has been sent watch Australian and US military exercises off the coast of Queensland.
Afghanistan recalls diplomats from Pakistan after ambassador’s daughter allegedly abducted, tortured
Silsila Alikhil, daughter of Ambassador Najib Alikhil, was kidnapped in Islamabad on Friday and held for several hours, during which she was “severely tortured.”
The action “wounded the psyche” of Afghanistan, forcing it to recall senior diplomats, including the ambassador himself.
“Following the abduction of the Afghan Ambassador’s daughter in Pakistan, the Leadership of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan called back Afghanistan’s Ambassador and senior diplomats from Pakistan until all security threats are addressed including the arrest and trial of the perpetrators of abduction,” the Afghanistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement.
A medical report, shared on social media and confirmed by the hospital where Silsila Alikhil was treated, stated she was admitted with swelling in the brain’s occiptal region and rope marks on her wrists and ankles, Reuters reported.
Campus Crazies: University Claims English is the ‘Language of the Coloniser’
The School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia has decided to abandon teaching its Literature In History II module, which included works from William Shakespeare and East Anglia alumni and Nobel Prize laureate Kazuo Ishiguro.
The course will be replaced with “Writing Across Borders” which is set to focus on “the way English operated as a language of the coloniser,” a freedom of information request from the Daily Mail revealed.

Russia successfully tests hypersonic cruise missile
The defence ministry said in a statement that the missile had been fired from the Admiral Gorshkov, a warship located in the White Sea, and travelled at around seven times the speed of sound before hitting a ground target on the coastline of the Barents Sea more than 350 km (217 miles) away.
“The tactical and technical characteristics of the Tsirkon missile were confirmed during the tests,” the ministry said.
Some Western experts have questioned how advanced Russia’s new generation of weapons is, while recognising that the combination of speed, manoeuvrability and altitude of hypersonic missiles makes them difficult to track and intercept.

A senior executive at Now News has resigned, citing “turbulent times” for Hong Kong’s media, media reports said.
Annie Cheng, vice president of the broadcaster’s news department, tendered her resignation on Monday, according to the reports.
Her resignation comes as the Hong Kong Journalists Association called 2020 “the worst year so far” for the city’s press freedoms in its annual report last Friday.
It cited a cascade of events impacting the press since China imposed a sweeping national security law on Hong Kong in June 2020.
COVID-19: 60% of people being admitted to hospital with coronavirus have been double-jabbed, says Vallance
Speaking at a Downing Street news briefing, Sir Patrick Vallance said: “In terms of the number of people in hospital who’ve been double-vaccinated, we know it’s around 60% of the people being admitted to hospital with COVID.
Meanwhile, most regions of England now have more coronavirus patients in hospital than at any point since mid-March.
Two regions – south-west England and the combined area of north-east England and Yorkshire – are back to levels last seen more than four months ago.
For England as a whole, there are now 3,813 patients in hospital with COVID-19 – the highest number since 24 March.

“If you look at his vaccine passport idea, it is absolutely crazy,” Mr O’Neill told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“He wants to have a severe system whereby if you aren’t double vaccinated then you basically are no longer a free citizen.
“I’m delighted to see people protesting, the way to encourage people to get the vaccination is through persuasion, not through authoritarianism and our leaders should remember that.”
Nurse could lose professional license if her gender-critical views are deemed ‘unsatisfactory’
Amy Hamm is under investigation by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) following activist complaints that her gender-critical views are transphobic and a threat to “trans and gender-diverse communities,” according to her lawyers at the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF).
The Society for Academic Freedom and Scholarship, a Canada-based group that defends faculty against cancel culture, said it’s supporting Hamm because “many academics are members of regulated professions and are at risk of similar treatment for expressing unpopular ideas in the public square.”
The billboard was defaced with paint during the approximately 30 hours it stayed up, according to JCCF. The outdoor advertising company took it down after a city councilmember called out the company by name for facilitating “clear, intentional messaging meant to stoke hate, exclusion & division.”

The American Descent into Madness
In the last six months, we have seen absurdities never quite witnessed in modern America. Madness, not politics, defines it.
There are three characteristics of all these upheavals.
One, the events are unsustainable. They will either cease or they will destroy the nation, at least as we know it.
Two, the law has largely been rendered meaningless. Three, left-wing political agendas justify any means necessary to achieve them.
Two million people are anticipated to cross the southern border, en masse and illegally, over a 12-month period.
If that absurdity were to continue, we would be adding the equivalent of a major U.S. city every year. The new arrivals have three things in common:
DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE VS. ABUSE OF POWER: FOUNDING FATHERS SPEAK ABSOLUTE TRUTH TO POWER
They did not merely claim they believed all men, all people, are created equal; they claimed it is self-evidently true that all are created equal.
Founders beliefs ‘staked out a position far in advance of the way people were thinking’
Why does the Declaration of Independence proclaim “We hold these truths to be self-evident” instead of simply stating that “We believe it is true”?
This is actually a good question. Answering it can teach us a lot about the Founding.
When we recall what the world was like in the Founders’ time, the answer becomes clear.
