Almost a MILLION migrants have apprehended at the border since January: Staggering projections show more than the population of San Francisco has already crossed and there could be 2M by end of 2021
From January to May, 711,784 migrants were encountered by Customs and Border Protection at the southern border – five times the amount during the same period in 2020 – and the Biden administration is on track to encounter 1 million by the end of July.
CBP’s latest data, released in June, show that there were 180,034 encounters with illegal crossers in May, the highest of any month in the last 20 years.
The spike in migration under President Joe Biden’s administration continues to grow with no signs of it coming to a stop any time soon.
The numbers for June have not yet been updated on CBP’s webpage, but pictures emerge at least weekly of groups of hundreds of migrants turning themselves over to U.S. immigration authorities at the U.S.-Mexico border.
If the current apprehension trajectory continues, CBP will have encountered more than 1 million illegal immigrants at the southern border by late July – when Biden reaches his six month mark in office.

A New Brain Implant Lets You Transform Thoughts Into Speech
Science is working to restore the natural faculties we often lose in life.
And a man without the power of speech or movement can generate words and sentences on a computer with thoughts alone, thanks to a new experimental implant that decodes brain signals that work the vocal tract, according to a recent study published in the journal The New England Journal of Medicine.
Crucially, the method behind this novel implant could radically increase the number of words per minute a person with paralysis may communicate.
“The stroke left him nearly completely paralyzed in his arms and legs but also in the muscles of his vocal tract,” said Chang. While this put an end to his organic ability to speak, the region of his brain that commanded speech remained perfectly fine.

Police: Man pulled gun on cop during traffic stop in Cambria Co
Austin Yanella, 24, of Hastings was pulled over on Magee Avenue after making a left turn through a red light.
After being pulled over, Yanella exited the vehicle and refused to get back in even though he was ordered to do so.
Yanella then began yelling and walking away from the scene until the officer pulled out a taser and pointed it at him, according to the criminal complaint.
Then, Yanella pointed a .22 caliber handgun at the officer. The officer fired the taser which dropped Yanella to the ground, according to the criminal complaint.
YouTube Fined By Germany For Removing Pandemic Protest Video
Perhaps the most chilling aspect of the rising censorship in the United States is that countries like Germany (with histories of antagonism toward free speech) have criticized the trend as dangerous and wrong.
While Democratic leaders and media figures have supported censorship, figures like Angela Merkel (long criticized for her attacks on free speech) have criticized moves like Twitter banning Trump.
Now, Germany has fined YouTube for something that many on the left in the United States have supported: the removal of a video contesting Covid-19 limits.
A German court ordered YouTube to pay a $118,000 fine for removing the video of a protest against Covid-19 lockdowns filmed in Switzerland last year.
YouTube fought to censor the video because it deemed such protests to be Covid-19 “misinformation.”
YouTube, like Twitter and Facebook, enforce massive censorship operations after taking sides on issues of political, scientific, and social debates.
GETTR explodes, passing 1.5 million users in just 11 days
The new social media platform GETTR, created by former Trump spokesman Jason Miller and allies, has passed 1.5 million users in record time and is poised for “substantial growth,” according to a new survey.
A Fabrizio, Lee & Associates poll, provided to Secrets, found that few Republicans have yet to hear about GETTR, but two-thirds of those who have are on it or are planning to sign up.
While still being introduced in the social media world, the survey said that 15% of Republicans are already aware of the chatty site.
“Despite low level of awareness, new platform GETTR has high conversion rate and has an opportunity for substantial growth,” said the analysis of the poll. It was not commissioned by GETTR.
Consumers’ Research launches ‘Woka-Cola’ campaign targeting the company for hypocrisy
The new efforts – which include an ad that will air in Atlanta, a new website called AlwaysWokaCola.com and mobile billboards attached to trucks that will drive around Coca-Cola’s headquarters, its museum and the Georgia State Capitol over the next 28 days – are part of the nonprofit’s ongoing, seven-figure ad campaign targetting “woke” companies.
“Today, we are launching AlwaysWokaCola.com and the accompanying ads as a satirical reminder to Coke to focus on their consumers, not woke politicians,” Will Hild, executive director of Consumers’ Research, told FOX Business in a statement Thursday.
The ads highlight Coca-Cola’s impact on the United States’ obesity epidemic; reports that Coca-Cola and other big-name U.S. brands lobbied against a bill aiming to bar companies from using labor in China’s Xinjiang Province, where Muslim minority populations are subject to forced labor and other human rights violations (though Coca-Cola has denied it uses any forced labor); and other health concerns related to Coke beverages.

Both Ahanu and Petrona are topless in the video, and Ahanu’s elective mastectomy scars are visible alongside a postpartum stomach as Petrona fruitlessly tries to breastfeed the couple’s child.
The gender-neutral pronoun “they,” in this case, is in reference to the baby, whose gender has not been identified at the time of this reporting.
Vietnam War vet dies after Chicago carjackers beat him in broad daylight
Keith Cooper, 73, died Wednesday at around 12:30 p.m. in the Hyde Park area after two people demanded he give them his car while he ran errands.
They then repeatedly punched him in the head, police said, as witnesses stepped in to try to stop the attack.
Cooper died just days before his 74th birthday and leaves behind a legacy of surviving two Vietnam War combat tours while in the Marine Corps.
Carjackings in Chicago have increased in recent years, with 2020 seeing a 135% spike compared to 2019, from 603 carjackings in 2019 to 1,416 in 2020.
The crime has spilled over into 2021, with one particularly violent 24-hour span last month seeing at least five carjackings.
Bodycam Footage Ruins Black State Rep’s Racism Claim for Traffic Stop
Minnesota state Rep. John Thompson insisted he was pulled over for “driving while black” and used the incident as a political rallying cry — the only problem is, the officer’s body camera footage tells a different story.
The incident in the early hours of July 4 during a routine traffic stop in St. Paul, when an unnamed police sergeant pulled the Democratic lawmaker over after observing that he had no front license plate and was driving at a high speed, according to Fox News.
The officer found Thompson was using a Wisconsin driver’s license, which had been suspended for failure to pay child support, according to WCCO-TV in Minneapolis.
Wild video shows women beat Brooklyn laundromat worker
Two women are being sought by police for beating up a male worker at a Brooklyn laundromat last month, authorities said Wednesday.
It was not immediately clear what triggered the confrontation.
Surveillance footage captured the wild melee inside laundromat, showing the man fall to the floor after one of the suspects whacked him with the vase.
He suffered cuts to his head and was taken by EMS to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition, police said.
Video shows DoorDash driver contaminating Brooklyn cop’s Chipotle order
“Video posted to social media shows a delivery driver tampering with food that had been ordered by an NYPD officer — and now the driver could face charges,”
Police sources said it wasn’t immediately clear whether the cop for whom the order was intended sampled the food before realizing it had been tampered with.
Cops are investigating the contamination, and a DoorDash spokeswoman said the driver — who has not been publicly identified — has been booted from the service.
The short video clip, posted to Facebook on Monday, shows the driver reaching into the open container of what appears to be a burrito bowl to bury the note under shredded cheese and lettuce.

Report: China Dumping so Much Raw Sewage into South China Sea It Is Visible from Space
Simularity Inc. is a software company that creates artificial intelligence (A.I.) technologies for satellite imagery analysis.
The U.S.-based company recently published satellite images of Spratly Reef that allegedly show how illegal Chinese fishing fleets “anchored in the Spratlys are dumping raw sewage onto the reefs they are occupying.”
Satellite imagery reviewed by Simularity Inc. indicates that “at least 236 ships were spotted in the atoll … on June 17 alone,” Derr told journalists at a Philippine online news forum discussing China’s illegal actions in the South China Sea on July 12.
“When the ships don’t move, the poop piles up,” Derr said, adding that monster algae blooms caused by the sewage are “so intense you can see [them] from space.”

South Africa deploys 25,000 troops to end week of rioting
In the largest deployment of soldiers since the end of White minority rule in 1994, the South African National Defence Force has also called up all of its reserve force of 12,000 troops.
In a show of force, a convoy of more than a dozen armored personnel carriers brought soldiers Thursday into Gauteng province, South Africa’s most populous, which includes the largest city, Johannesburg, and the capital, Pretoria.
Buses, trucks, airplanes and helicopters are also being used to move the large deployment of troops to trouble spots in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal province that have seen a week of violence in mainly poor areas.
German floods kill 42 as dozens more remain missing
The rainfall caused major rivers to burst their banks and flood the surrounding regions: Flood waters have washed away buildings and cars in some cases.
In addition to the confirmed dead, between 50 and 70 people are missing, according to German newspaper BILD.
“There are dead, missing and many people in danger,” said Malu Dreyer, chief of Germany’s Rhineland-Palatinate state, which has seen perhaps the worst of the flooding. “All of our emergency services are in action around the clock and risking their own lives.”
Chancellor Angela Merkel said she was “shocked” by the severity of the flooding.
