Federal judge says Air Force is ‘60% responsible’ for 2017 mass shooting at Texas church that left 26 dead
The ruling comes after survivors and victims’ families sued the government claiming it was negligent in allowing Devin Patrick Kelley to purchase firearms.
It is the worst mass shooting in the history of Texas and the worst shooting at a place of worship in American history.
In his ruling on Wednesday, US District Judge Xavier Rodriguez in San Antonio said the Air Force was ’60 percent responsible’ for the massacre.
‘The trial conclusively established that no other individual — not even Kelley’s own parents or partners — knew as much as the United States about the violence that Devin Kelley had threatened to commit and was capable of committing,’ Rodriguez said of the Air Force in his ruling

The officers, described as experienced and senior, Brown said, were driving on an onramp to Interstate 57 when they were ‘fired upon from the street.’
One of the ATF agents was shot in the hand and the other was struck in the torso. The Chicago officer was struck on the back of his head but that ‘it appears to be a graze wound.’ All three were in stable condition.
The shootings come a day after police reported that 100 people were shot in Chicago — including two police officers who were wounded while trying to break up a crowd — over the long Fourth of July weekend.

Wednesday on Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria,” FNC anchor Tucker Carlson addressed his claim that the National Security Agency (NSA) is spying on him.
Carlson warned of the “threat” posed by the NSA secretly spying on journalists and Americans.
“What’s so striking to me is — look, I am out of step with most people in journalism in Washington. Most of them are defenders of the Biden administration.
They see themselves as Democratic Party operatives, etc. But we are still all journalists. I mean, our job is still roughly the same — to gather information and give it to our readers and viewers,” Carlson stated.

Watters, author of the new book, “How I Saved the World,” said the media and Big Tech companies worked together to “suppress” stories about Hunter Biden and the suspected Wuhan, China lab leak before the 2020 election.

Orlando Davie arrested after allegedly trying to run over MPD officer
Orlando Davie, 24, of Hernando, is charged with attempted murder, evading arrest, and vandalism.
According to a police affidavit, MPD officers tried to stop Davie at Front and GE Patterson around 7:15 p.m. when he was seen swerving, almost hitting pedestrians. They said he then drove into oncoming traffic and crashed into a pickup truck. Police said Davie left the scene of the crash at a high rate of speed, that’s when officers called off the pursuit for safety reasons.
According to the affidavit, Davie then made eye contact with an officer who was on a sidewalk and drove onto the sidewalk in an attempt to hit the officer. The officer took cover to avoid being hit.
Washington state homeowner shoots, kills intoxicated intruder on July Fourth, sheriff says
The 48-year-old man had parked his car in the homeowner’s yard, leaving his car door open, and broke a window to the home so he could enter, Q13 FOX reported, citing police.
The homeowner, who police have not named, heard the noise and called 911, according to the report. A 911 dispatcher could hear the intruder yelling and the sound of a scuffle over the phone.
Police said the intruder had started to walk up the stairs toward the homeowner, who was standing at the top with a gun. The homeowner then shot the intruder in the stairwell and informed the 911 dispatcher.
Utah detectives capture ‘violent’ fugitive armed with AR-15 rifle hiding out in tent in woods, sheriff says
Steven John Everett, 33, of Boise, Idaho, had warrants out for parole violation for dangerous drugs and for aggravated strong-arm assault, the Utah County Sheriff’s Office said, adding that Boise police had told them Everett has also been involved in trafficking over 100 firearms.
Inside the tent, officers found an AR-15 rifle and next to it a magazine with 30 rounds of ammunition. An additional 40 rounds of 5.56mm ammo were also discovered.
Detectives also found an Idaho State Police patch, two police-style items used on officers’ duty belts, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the tent.
Everett, who police said has violent tendencies and was a known drug abuser, had previously made statements that he would not go back to prison and would “shoot it out” with police instead, according to authorities.

Kevin McCarthy, Jim Jordan Release Framework to Combat Big Tech Censorship
The Republican leaders released their antitrust and free speech framework as House Democrats unveiled a series of bills that would empower the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and other methods to break up big tech and curb Silicon Valley’s enormous influence.
Jordan is the House Judiciary Committee ranking member, and McMorris Rodgers is the ranking member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
Republicans, including Jordan, have criticized the proposals for not addressing conservative censorship. The Democrat proposals would also empower FTC Chairman Lina Khan.
“These bills give power to the FTC, the new commissioner we all know is radically left. I don’t really think it breaks up big tech, and I don’t think it gives a remedy to people who are censored,” Jordan said.

Chinese state-run publication Global Times published an op-ed Wednesday warning that “Japan would dig its own grave” is it interferes with Taiwan after Japanese Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso vowed to join the United States in defense of the sovereign island nation if China invades.
The op-ed, written by Song Zhongping, claims that Japan’s “inflammatory comments” went too far. “Japan needs to remember that its survival depends on whether Japan understands its situation correctly – not on how China is prepared to resolve the Taiwan question,” Zhongping wrote.
“Japan’s military capability is completely restrained by the US and does not have an independent combat capability. It is easy for the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to paralyze the attack capability of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces. Japan itself is powerless against the Chinese military.”
