Girlfriend of man whose six year-old son vanished is arrested after she was found in motel room with child’s body stuffed in tote bag
The body – believed to be that of six year-old Samuel Olson – was discovered by police acting on an anonymous tip at a Best Western motel in Jasper, 135 miles northeast of the little boy’s home city of Houston on Tuesday night.
Theresa Balboa, the girlfriend of Samuel’s father, Dalton Olson, was arrested in Jasper County on Tuesday night after being found at the motel alongside the child’s remains.
Balboa was located after police were tipped off to her whereabouts, with officers said to have made contact with her when they arrived at the motel, before finding the corpse a shot time later.
Investigation leads to arrest of Ewing man in connection to man who died after being assaulted, run over by a vehicle
Justin Wilkes, 21, was arrested and charged Tuesday evening with first-degree aggravated manslaughter and third-degree endangering an injured victim. The prosecutor’s office has filed a motion to detain Lopez pending trial.
While enroute, Trenton police dispatch advised that callers had heard two gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, an unidentified Hispanic male, laying in the street. He was bleeding from the head and had visible tire marks across his torso.
Detectives received witness information that the victim was seen walking in the roadway then observed falling to the ground as a white Honda Civic hit him and drove off in the direction of Beatty Street.
Detectives were able to locate the vehicle and identify the driver as Elber Yuman, 24,

The incident happened on Monday, May 31, when a three-person hiking group was making their way along the summit ridge of Mount Russell in California’s Sequoia National Park and a 56-year-old man from San Jose, California, suddenly lost his balance as he was walking, said the National Park Service in a statement.
Another member of the group, a 45-year-old woman from Milpitas, California, made an attempt to rescue him by grabbing the man as he was falling but ended up being pulled down herself.
The third member of the hiking group immediately used a satellite device locator beacon to declare an emergency and managed to call emergency services from his cell phone to report the accident.

The union official blames the NTA policy shift. The policy, known as prosecutor discretion, will speed the release of migrants by not issuing NTAs for removal proceedings.
Due to severe overcrowding, the source says Border Patrol agents are now being required to perform mandatory overtime strictly to hasten the release processes.

Carol Tobias of the National Right to Life Committee says scientists now have permission to experiment on “little human beings,” which begins with creating life only for an experiment.
“The ISSCR has shown an utter disregard for the value and dignity of human life,” said U.S. Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) said in a statement.
“Its previous rule allowing scientists to create and experiment on human embryos up to 14 days was already unethical and morally repugnant, but the ISSCR has now removed all restraint, allowing unborn humans at any stage of development to be experimented on, manipulated, and destroyed.”

Second Capitol riot defendant strikes plea deal
In a virtual plea hearing before the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, prosecutors told Judge Randolph Moss they would drop the four misdemeanor charges against Paul Allard Hodgkins in exchange for the defendant’s guilty plea on the obstruction charge, his only felony count, which carries a statutory maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison.
On Wednesday, attorneys for both the defense and the prosecution said the guidelines were likely to call for a 15- to 21-month sentence for Hodgkins.
Moss would ultimately be free to impose a shorter or longer sentence, and Hodgkins’ attorney said he would likely argue for less time behind bars for his client.
Although more than 450 people have been charged in relation to the storming of the Capitol, the only other defendant to accept a plea deal was Jon Schaffer, a 52-year-old man from Columbus, Ind.,
Major news outlets start to embrace YouTube alternative Rumble
Creator-focused video sharing platform Rumble’s record growth is starting to attract a growing number of major news brands to its platform.
Digital Trends, KMGH, Newsy, OutKick, Page Six, Reuters, The New York Post, WPTV, and Fox News host Sean Hannity are some of the news outlets and hosts that now regularly post their content to Rumble.
The addition of these news brands and hosts complements Rumble’s existing roster of independent creators which include political commentator and Rumble investor Dan Bongino, comedian Steven Crowder, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
Rumble has rapidly expanded its platform in 2021 by focusing on “dialog, debate and opinions” and speaking out against YouTube censorship.

That same day, union leaders for United Teachers Los Angeles passed a resolution expressing their “solidarity with the Palestinian people” with nearly identical demands as the San Francisco teachers.
Teachers’ unions have grown increasingly political over the past year. United Teachers Los Angeles last July published a report claiming that defunding the police and passing Medicare for All were necessary for safely reopening schools.
The American Federation of Teachers last year passed a resolution endorsing the Green New Deal.

North Carolina cemetery murder: Second, third teenager taken into custody over slaying of senior citizen
Maria Elizabeth Peña-Echeverria, 18, was first charged Saturday in connection to 69-year-old James Lacy Taylor’s death. Both Taylor and Peña-Echeverria lived at Raleigh addresses, police said.
Raleigh homicide detectives by Tuesday had charged 19-year-old Johnathan Daniel Villanueva-Galer with murder in connection to Taylor’s death. And juvenile petitions have also been obtained for a 16-year-old who has been taken into custody, Fox News has learned.
“This was not a random act,” Raleigh police spokeswoman Laura Hourigan told Fox News.
Hourigan declined to provide more details regarding potential motives, adding that she does not have information about Peña-Echeverria’s legal status or if she has any gang affiliation.
Phoenix police Officer Ginarro New, 1 other killed in crash after driver runs red light
His vehicle was struck when Castro ran a red light at the intersection headed east, Justus said.
Justus said the force of the crash sent New’s vehicle through a block wall and into a parking lot on the southeast corner of the intersection. The vehicle came to rest on its side.
According to police, preliminary information indicated the speed of the other vehicle was a contributing factor. It was later identified that Castro was also suspected to have been impaired, police said.
Officer New is survived by his wife, Kristen, his mother, Misty, his brother Marcas, and his grandmother Susan, Phoenix police tweeted.
Judge Dismisses Planned Parenthood Lawsuit Against Lubbock, Texas Abortion Ban
The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports U.S. District Judge James Wesley Hendrix dismissed the lawsuit, ruling that Planned Parenthood lacks jurisdiction to challenge the Sanctuary for the Unborn ordinance.
The ruling means Lubbock will remain abortion-free. Planned Parenthood, the only abortion facility in the city, stopped aborting unborn babies on Tuesday when the ordinance went into effect.
Lubbock is the largest city in the U.S. – and the first with an abortion facility – to pass an ordinance to protect unborn babies from abortion.
Residents voted overwhelmingly in favor of the ordinance, which bans abortions within city limits and allows private citizens to sue abortionists for violating the ban.

According to the proposal, Assembly Bill 198, only voters or their witnesses would be able to fix mistakes on ballots—and no one else. Republicans have said that ballot curing, the term used to describe the fixing of errors on ballots, can lead to fraud.
Election clerks must contact the voter or the witness if they made a mistake on their portion of the ballot. Then the voter or the witness would be asked to correct their respective mistakes, according to local media reports.
“Because [absentee voting] is a privilege, there’s got to be some responsibility that the voter has to exercise that privilege,” said state Rep. Donna Rozar, reported The Center Square. “And I think that responsibility is to do it right and legally.”

Denmark blocks access to BitChute over “coronavirus misinformation”
Danish Twitter users have blasted the censorship by comparing Denmark to China, describing it as a “totally fascist police state,” and questioning whether the block violates Denmark’s constitution which forbids censorship.
The blocking of BitChute in Denmark follows some ISPs in other countries such as Australia also blocking access to the video-sharing platform.
Big Tech companies have also implemented far-reaching censorship rules against BitChute.
Last year, Twitter blocked all links to the site and then this year, it banned users from posting links to BitChute before eventually lifting the blocks.
Google also banned a third-party app for BitChute from its Play Store – a move that impacted more than 100,000 users of the app.
Chinese blogger Qiu Ziming arrested for questioning official death toll in China-India conflict
38-year-old Chinese blogger Qiu Ziming was sentenced to eight months in prison for contradicting the government’s narrative of the death toll of last year’s clash with India.
China had long denied casualties during the clash, only admitting to four casualties in February (eight months after the clash).
The PLA’s claim was contradicted by India, which claims China has lost at least the same number of soldiers, and potentially double. However, China cannot admit to a high number of casualties as it would damage the image of its army.

UK reports zero daily Covid deaths for first time since July
The last time that no Covid deaths were recorded throughout the United Kingdom was July 30.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock welcomed Tuesday’s milestone as “undoubtedly good news”, saying Britain’s vaccine rollout, which began in December, was “clearly working”.
However, he also sounded a note of caution with coronavirus cases on the rise.
On Tuesday, Britain recorded over 3,000 coronavirus cases for the seventh straight day, putting in doubt plans by Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s government to completely lift restrictions on June 21.
Israel finds possible link between Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, myocarditis
Nearly all cases were mild and mostly occurred in young men aged 16 to 19 post-second dose. Illnesses typically required four days of hospitalization.
“There is some probability for a possible link between the second vaccine dose and the onset of myocarditis among young men aged 16 to 30,” the announcement reads.
“This link was found to be stronger among the younger age group, 16 to 19, compared to other age groups.
This link became weaker the older the vaccinated individual is. In most cases, myocarditis took the form of mild illness that passed within a few days.”
