3 Fully Vaccinated Hawaii Residents Test Positive for COVID-19
All three patients had received both doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccines, reported KITV4. They all experienced mild symptoms and did not appear to spread the disease to others, the DOH told the news station.
COVID-19 vaccines don’t prevent infection, however they mitigate severe symptoms and lower the risk of hospitalization, health experts say.
One of the patients, an Oahu-based health care worker, received the second and final dose of the vaccine in January.
The worker traveled to several U.S. cities about a month later, and tested positive following routine testing upon returning to Hawaii as per travel protocol.
McKinsey Settles For $45 Million After Boosting Opioid Sales In Nevada
A consulting firm with ties to communist China is set to pay Nevada $45 million after it spread propaganda that contributed to the state’s opioid crisis.
The state’s Democrat Attorney General Aaron Ford announced the settlement with McKinsey & Company on Monday, just one month he “opted out” of another settlement worth $573 million with 47 states and Washington D.C. over the opioid propaganda which would have left Nevada with a “woefully insufficient” $7 million.
“Nevada is a hardest-hit state by the opioid crisis and is owed a great deal of compensation and justice,” Ford said in a press release, noting that opioids “have killed thousands in Nevada, and they continue to ravage the lives of many more, creating one of the largest public-health epidemics in the country’s history.”
McKinsey first came under scrutiny after its client, prescription drugmaker Purdue Pharma LP, filed for bankruptcy in 2019 using documents that showed the consulting firm recommended offering rebates to doctors and distributors whose patients overdosed on the addictive pills they sold.
BLM Protestors Trap Customers Inside Grocery Store On Anniversary Of Daniel Prude’s Death
More than 200 Black Lives Matter protestors trapped customers inside a Wegmans grocery store in Rochester, New York on Tuesday afternoon.
BLM protestors can be seen in several videos formed in a mob outside of the Wegmans, chanting. Demonstrations are also happening across the city.
“Wegmans is a system that upholds white supremacy,” Ashley Gantt said, a leader of the organization Free the People Rochester, that set up Tuesday’s disturbance.
“Allowing the mob to shut down the East Ave [Wegmans], trapping at least a hundred people, is an immoral failing by the mayor at @CityRochesterNY and the @RochesterNYPD,” tweeted reporter Bob Lonsberry, who was at the riot. ”
“To kiss the a-s of the mob, the rights of others are trodden, and the city dies even more.”

Steven Rudder, commanding officer of U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, for “a loss of trust and confidence in his ability to command, following completion of the command investigation into the assault amphibious vehicle mishap which occurred off the coast of San Clemente Island, California on July 30, 2020,” a Marine Corps press release said.
The incident was the deadliest AAV training accident in Marine Corps history and resulted in the death of eight Marines and one sailor.
In October 2020 the Marine Corps fired Lt. Col. Michael Regner, the commander of Battalion Landing Team 1/4 with the 15th MEU, as a result of the accident.
Border Patrol Detains More Child Migrants In First Two Weeks Of March Than In All Of February
The number of migrant children detained at the United States border is already on pace to break an all-time record, as The Daily Wire noted last week, but the problem is only gaining steam.
According to preliminary U.S. Border Patrol numbers provided to CNN, nearly 11,000 child migrants have crossed the border in March — thousands more than in February, and the month is barely half over.
The United States is also reportedly on pace to smash detention records.
The previous high was in May 2019, when “11,400 unaccompanied children were arrested on the US-Mexico border.”
According to recent reports from CBS News and others, the U.S. is holding approximately 15,500 unaccompanied child migrants in border detention facilities run by CBP as well as facilities run by Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

New Jersey newspaper apologizes for ‘totally unacceptable’ caption that featured lewd language, ethnic slur
The staffer who wrote the offensive caption is no longer employed by the paper. Asbury Park Press and APP.com executive editor Paul D’Ambrosio issued an apology on behalf of the company.
“Late on March 20, a photo ran on APP.com with an unapproved and offensive caption. The photo was removed March 21 as soon as it was brought to our attention,” D’Ambrosio wrote. “I apologize deeply to women, the Lakewood Jewish community (where the photo was taken), all members of the Jewish faith, the Asian American community and all our readers.”
Parent company Gannett also condemned the caption, calling it “completely unacceptable” and saying it doesn’t coincide with company principles and practices.

Facebook has removed all access to the Facebook profile believed to belong to Ahmad Al Issa, the person identified by police as the King Soopers shooting suspect who killed 10 in the Boulder, Colorado shooting.
Screen shots of the Facebook page taken by Twitter users reveal that Al Issa was a devout Muslim who believed in conspiracy theories.
Ahmad Al Issa’s profile was abruptly removed from the website, internet archive websites including the Archive.is and the Wayback machine, and Google’s cache nearly simultaneously.

2 spring breakers drugged, raped woman, then partied, cops say. She died in South Beach hotel
Evoire Collier, 21, and Dorian Taylor, 24, are also accused of stealing the unconscious woman’s credit cards and using them during their South Beach vacation, The Miami Herald reported.
Both men were caught on surveillance footage entering the Albion Hotel with the impaired victim, a Pennsylvania resident, at around 1 a.m. on Thursday, police said.
The men, Evoire Collier, 21, and Dorian Taylor, 24, are also accused of stealing the woman’s credit cards to spend money on their trip in South Beach.
Gunman ambushes National Guard convoy carrying COVID vaccine in Texas, cops say
Larry Lee Harris, 66, allegedly started following the three National Guard vans, en route to Matador, Texas, after they stopped at a Love’s gas station in Lubbock, and “attempted multiple times” to run their vehicles off the road, Idalou Police Chief Eric Williams said in a statement.
After those attempts failed, Harris then turned his truck in front of the convoy, forcing it to stop. He got out of his truck and aimed his .45 caliber handgun at one of the guardsmen, who was unarmed.
Claiming to be a detective, he ordered all 11 soldiers to exit the vans so he could search them, Williams’ statement said.

The Recall Gavin Newsom campaign is also being criticized as xenophobic for opposing $50 million given to businesses run by illegal aliens and showering other benefits to people in the United States illegally, including income tax refunds, welfare, medical insurance, food stamps, and free housing.
The left is blaming using terms such as the China virus, including its use by former President Donald Trump, as being behind the recent increase in harassment of Asian people in the United States.
Orrin Heatlie, a retired Yolo County, California, sheriff’s sergeant who started the recall campaign, said people who oppose Newsom are just as concerned about racism following an uptick in violence against Asians and Asian Americans.

On Tuesday, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) hammered Democrats for their push on gun control following the latest mass shooting, this time in Boulder, Colorado.
Cruz followed Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, who accused Republicans of having no solutions on the issue.
Cruz stated, “Every time there’s a shooting, we play this ridiculous theater where this committee gets together and proposes a bunch of laws that would do nothing to stop these murders.”
Cruz pointed out that he and GOP Senator Charles Grassley had introduced the Grassley-Cruz amendment in 2013 that could have prevented some shootings, then noted the Democrats had filibustered the bill so it could not pass.

Under HR 8, however, unlicensed and private sellers would need to begin conducting background checks.
Either — or both — passing the Senate would mark a radical change in federal gun policy and become the first successful federal gun reform effort in more than a quarter of a century.
And two, both bills seem destined to wither in a Senate in which the Democratic caucus, which supports these reforms and others, needs the support of at least 10 Republican senators (who have been historically against restricting access to firearms) to pass legislation.
Evanston, Illinois first in US to pay reparations to Black residents
The plan, which could be the first of its kind in the U.S., is to distribute $400,000 to eligible Black households.
The Associated Press reported that qualifying households in the city of 73,000 would be eligible to receive $25,000 for home repairs or down payments on property.
Ald. Robin Rue Simmons, the lawmaker who proposed the initiative back in 2019, called the approval a first step but said more needs to be done.
“It is, alone, not enough,” she said, according to the Chicago Tribune. “We all know that the road to repair and justice in the Black community is going to be a generation of work. It’s going to be many programs and initiatives and more funding.”

California bill aims to jumpstart ‘microstamps’ on handguns
The intent was to imprint a unique set of microscopic characters on all cartridge casings when weapons are fired, linking bullet casings to the guns that discharged them.
New legislation would expand the law to include weapons used by law enforcement, which are currently exempt. The thinking is that forcing police officers into the marketplace would prompt manufacturers to improve technology so they can sell the weapons to members of law enforcement.
The bill by Democratic Assemblyman Jesse Gabriel, co-founder of the Legislature’s Gun Violence Prevention Working Group, would add law enforcement starting in 2023.

North Korea fires short-range missiles in challenge to Biden administration
The missile tests, which have not previously been reported, represent North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s first direct challenge to President Biden, whose aides have not yet outlined their approach to the regime’s nuclear threat amid an ongoing review of U.S.-North Korea policy.
For weeks, U.S. defense officials warned that intelligence indicated that North Korea might carry out missile tests.
The regime elevated its complaints about U.S. military exercises last week when Kim’s sister warned that if the Biden administration “wants to sleep in peace for the coming four years, it had better refrain from causing a stink.”
State Department spokesman Ned Price has said the Biden administration wants to develop a “new approach” to North Korea, but he has offered few details.
