Cuyahoga County Jail officer worked for months at jail with an active arrest warrant
Kendale Dunn, 28, pleaded not guilty Friday to the fourth-degree felony burglary. He left the jail after posting 10 percent of a $5,000 bond set at his first court appearance.
Madigan said jail officials only learned about the warrant Jan. 19. Police arrested Dunn when he showed up for work, Madigan said.
She said she did not know why jail officials were unaware of the warrant for months.
Baidu gets California nod for testing empty self-driving cars

OAKLAND, Calif (Reuters) – Baidu Inc has received a permit from the state of California to test self-driving cars without a driver behind the wheel, the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles said on Wednesday.
Although self-driving vehicles are designed to eliminate the need for a driver, most testing thus far has been with a safety driver behind the wheel who can take over in case of emergency. Currently, 58 companies have permits in California to test self-driving cars with such a backup driver, including most major automakers and Apple Inc.
Baidu is the sixth company to have a permit to test without a driver behind the wheel. The permit allows it to test three autonomous vehicles on specified streets within Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County.
Mike Rowe says Facebook is canceling his beloved ‘Returning the Favor’ web TV program despite its popularity

“I received a phone call yesterday from Facebook, telling me that [‘Returning the Favor’] would not be back for another season,” Rowe wrote to his Facebook followers. “Obviously, I was surprised.
‘Returning the Favor’ has been a very successful endeavor, and the feedback from everyone has been extraordinarily good – from the first favor returned, to the 100th. In fact, it’s the only program I ever worked on [that] never received a single, negative review, or one critical comment. In that way, it was truly unexampled.”
The hook of the show is that while Rowe profiles individuals for the cameras, other people work behind the scenes to do something generous for these people, who often could use a financial hand or a revamp of a store or extra supplies to help them keep going.
And by the end of each episode, the reveal takes place, always with tears and laughter.
Workers evacuated after bomb threat involving two US Navy submarines in Connecticut

“NCIS is working closely with the commands, Electric Boat, the FBI, and the Connecticut State Police to conduct initial investigative steps. Out of respect for the investigative process, NCIS will not comment further,” Houston said.
Anyone with information about the threat is asked to report it to the NCIS Tips app or https://www.ncis.navy.mil. Tips may be reported anonymously.
FOX NEWS VIDEO: Tacoma riot eyewitness describes violence, vandalism: ‘It was as bad as you might expect’
A Seattle talk radio host who went inside Sunday night’s riot in Tacoma, Washington, tells Fox News that Antifa made their role in the violence loud and clear.
“Not only were they flying an Antifa flag, they chanted ‘Antifa.’ That’s what they do. They make it very, very easy to identify themselves.”
Rantz says he witnessed fires, vandalism, burning of the American flag, and the taunting of police.
“They tried to break prisoners out of the local jail by trying to pull down the fencing,” he said.
DHS uses federal alert system for 1st time in a year to warn of domestic terrorist threat

“Information suggests that some ideologically-motivated violent extremists with objections to the exercise of governmental authority and the presidential transition, as well as other perceived grievances fueled by false narratives, could continue to mobilize to incite or commit violence,” according to a bulletin issued Wednesday through the DHS National Terrorist Advisory System — or NTAS.
The system was last used to issue a public warning a year ago, when DHS issued a bulletin over potential retaliation by Iran for the U.S. assassination of Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani in Iraq days earlier.
A year before that, DHS issued a bulletin through the same system to highlight the threat from foreign terrorist groups like ISIS or al-Qaida.
Social media ‘influencer’ charged with spreading 2016 election disinformation

The charges: The FBI arrested Douglass Mackey, known as “Ricky Vaughn,” on accusations of conspiring to deprive individuals of their right to vote through “coordinated use of social media to spread disinformation,” according to a complaint filed in the Eastern District of New York.
Mackey, according to a 2018 HuffPost report, is a prominent pro-Trump online troll with ties to the white nationalist movement.
How the lies spread: According to the complaint, Mackey and several unnamed co-conspirators sought to stoke confusion about the voting process by claiming on social media that supporters of one of the two major presidential candidates could vote by posting online or texting.

Biden climate plan aims to put U.S. on path to ‘net-zero economy’

President Joe Biden signed sweeping changes on Wednesday designed to take action on numerous climate change measures, from stopping oil and gas leases on public lands to environmental justice.
Biden said his executive orders will prioritize climate change as a national security concern at every level of the federal government and increase efforts to reduce the U.S. carbon footprint and emissions.
For environmental justice, the orders will address “disproportionate health, environmental, economic and climate impacts on disadvantaged communities” and establish two councils to examine historic issues to “ensure that marginalized communities benefit,” a White House release said.
John Kerry, Gina McCarthy: Laid-off Oil, Gas Workers Will Have ‘Better Choices’

Biden caused widespread layoffs — and potentially tens of thousands of lost future job opportunities — when he revoked the Keystone XL pipeline permit, and suspended oil and gas leasing on federal lands, on his first day in the Oval Office.
Asked by a reporter what their “message” was to workers in the fossil fuel industry, Kerry and McCarthy promised that workers could find new jobs in “green” industries — or that they could benefit from New Deal-style work programs.
Solar panels were also a focus of Biden’s first attempt at “green jobs” under President Barack Obama’s stimulus. That attempt ended spectacularly with the failure of Solyndra, a company that Biden and Obama had both touted.
Chuck Schumer Wants to Stop Dems from Nominating a Black Woman for Senate in NC — Again

Democrats are hoping to avoid a repeat of Cal Cunningham’s disastrous candidacy in 2020, which ultimately prevented them from holding outright control of the Senate under President Joe Biden.
And yet the party appears ready to nominate another boring white man at the expense of a qualified black woman.
Erica Smith, a former Boeing engineer, is running again in 2022 after accusing Democratic officials of meddling in the 2020 primary because “Sen. Schumer, for whatever reason, did not want an African American running for Senate in North Carolina.”
Smith wasn’t the only black candidate to lose a Senate primary in 2020 after national Democrats threw their support behind a white challenger.

Commentary/Opinion:
Twitter permanently banned President Trump because he insisted Democrats stole the 2020 presidential election.
The same claim Hillary Clinton used over the last four years about the Republicans, yet Twitter didn’t shut down her account.
If Jack Dorsey justifies banning President Trump permanently for voicing his opinion, he may want to consider these four Democrats for pushing their own set of lies and conspiracy theories.

Protesters in Lebanon clash with police over virus lockdown

BEIRUT — Lebanese security forces fired tear gas and water cannons in clashes Wednesday with dozens of protesters who took to the street in the country’s north for a third consecutive day to denounce deteriorating living conditions amid a strict lockdown to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
To respond to the crisis, the government has imposed a nearly month-long nationwide lockdown and round-the-clock curfew, the strictest since the virus hit Lebanon.
The measures have exacerbated a crippling economic and financial crisis that preceded the pandemic in this small Mediterranean country of nearly 5 million people and over 1 million refugees.
Auschwitz survivors mark Holocaust Remembrance Day online amid pandemic

Just 6 years old at the time, the Poland-born Friedman was instructed by her mother to lie absolutely still in a bed at a camp hospital, next to the body of a young woman who had just died.
As German forces preparing to flee the scene of their genocide went from bed to bed shooting anyone still alive, Friedman barely breathed under a blanket and went unnoticed.
Days later, on Jan. 27, 1945, she was among the thousands of prisoners who survived to greet the Soviet troops who liberated the camp in Nazi-occupied Poland.
Chinese Government Sponsors Facial Recognition Technology to Detect Uyghurs

The patent application disclosed that “facial recognition … has wide applications in the field of social security,” “Uyghurs have different facial appearance from Han Chinese,” and “An Uyghurs face database has been built upon typical face images of Uyghurs of different sexes and ages collected from all areas of Xinjiang Autonomous Region,” in the published specification of the application.
The application described a newly developed method to more accurately distinguish Uyghurs from Han Chinese based on facial images.
CPO also published another patent application, titled “A kind of Uyghur nationality’s face identification method of new blending algorithm.”
This patent application acknowledged Uyghurs like to wear veils, hats, and glasses, which results in difficulty of facial recognition, and proposed an improved method to more accurately distinguish Uyghurs from Han Chinese even when their faces are partially covered.

No, The Great Reset’s ‘Stakeholder Capitalism’ does NOT give power to the ‘people’
During day two of The Davos Agenda 21 on Tuesday, the world’s biggest and most powerful business leaders, CEOs, and politicians continued to push the idea of ‘stakeholder capitalism,’ which is part of The Great Reset.
They continued to lie, arguing it’s a type of economic system that benefits not only the people — but the world, too.
They couldn’t be more wrong, and in this clip, Glenn explains why.

Joe Concha: ‘Big Tech is more powerful’ than government in terms of speech

“Here is the bottom line. 70 percent of adults get their news from social media. It’s like what radio and television was in the 20th century. That’s how they get their news,” Concha told “The Faulkner Focus.”
Concha remarks came following YouTube announcing former President Donald Trump’s channel will “remain suspended,” pointing to an “ongoing potential for violence” in the wake of the Capitol riot on Jan. 6.
“And we’re seeing it now in terms of YouTube, which is owned by Google, is now basing their bans based on … the potential of [Trump] possibly putting a video out there as opposed to an outright violation,” Concha said.
Concha went on to say, “So now you have the ex-president of the United States, who had 89 million followers on Twitter, countless followers on Facebook, YouTube views, all that has been completely suppressed and shut down by Big Tech. That’s how powerful they’ve become, Harris.”
