WATCH: CA Firefighters Rescue American Flag that Fell Due to High Winds
“The flag had toppled from strong winds overnight,” the outlet said.
Video footage shows one firefighter lift the pole and detach the wet flag. Grasping both ends, two additional first responders shake the water off the flag and proceed to fold it:
The first responders then left the flag on resident Christine Johnson’s doorstep, who later told KSBW she watched the entire scene play out from her window.
“This really hit home to me on how wonderful our community is,” she commented.
Pipe bombs found at RNC and DNC during Capitol riots were placed night before, FBI says
The person of interest wore a face mask, a grey hooded sweatshirt, and Nike Air Max Speed Turf shoes in yellow, black, and gray. They also had a backpack with them.
The FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives doubled the reward for information from $50,000 to $100,000 .

Congresswoman moving offices to get away from Marjorie Taylor Greene after mask altercation
Democratic Rep. Cori Bush of Missouri announced Friday that she will be moving her office away from GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, following a heated exchange earlier this month where Bush confronted Greene about not wearing a mask in a hallway on Capitol Hill.
The fallout led Speaker Nancy Pelosi to take the extraordinary step of ordering Bush’s office to be moved away from Greene, following a request from Bush, the latest signs of the growing tensions between the two parties in the aftermath of the deadly riot on Capitol Hill.
Greene spokesman Nick Dyer responded to Bush’s accusation in a statement to CNN by saying, “Rep. Bush is actually the instigator and it’s on tape. We’ll be releasing the video shortly.”
Greene’s office tweeted a short video of the congresswoman talking into her phone and someone in the background yelling at her to put a mask on.
New York Man Charged in Grandparent Scam
On January 27, 2021, Albert Peralta-Munoz, 22, of the Bronx was arrested and charged via a complaint-summons with second-degree Use of a Juvenile to Commit a Crime, third-degree Theft by Deception, and third-degree Conspiracy.
Peralta-Munoz was charged along with a juvenile following an investigation by the South Plainfield Police that determined, at approximately 11:30 A.M., a borough resident received a phone call from an individual who demanded $6,500.00 for release of the resident’s grandchild from jail.
Peralta-Munoz and the juvenile were later arrested as they attempted to collect the money from the victim.
The investigation is active and continuing.
California prof: Heterosexuality is ‘tragic’
University of California-Riverside Gender and Sexuality Studies Professor Jane Ward was recently featured in an Insider article titled, “Why heterosexual relationships are so bad for us, according to a sex researcher” in which she told the outlet that heterosexuality “tragic.”
According to the University of California-Riverside’s website, Ward teaches courses focusing on feminist, queer, and heterosexuality studies.
“It really looks like straight men and women don’t like each other very much, that women spend so much time complaining about men, and we still have so much evidence of misogyny,” or woman-hating behavior, Ward told Insider. “From an LGBT perspective, [being straight] looks actually very tragic.”
The article cites an uptick in divorces and relationship problems among straight couples since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
Wisconsin police chief bans ‘Thin Blue Line’ flags after outcry over the ‘white supremacist’ emblem
In December, the department came under fire after an innocuous social media photo from the department featured a Thin Blue Line flag on one of the departments walls.
Social media users branded the photo “toxic” and said that the flag is a “sign of racism and conservatism.”
According to the report, Roman said that the flag had been “co-opted” by extremists with “hateful ideologies.”
In a mid-January email, Roman said, “We must consider the cost of clinging to a symbol that is undeniably and inextricably linked to actions and beliefs antithetical to UWPD’s values.”
SpaceX looks to build next-generation Starlink internet satellites after launching 1,000 so far
Starlink is SpaceX’s ambitious project to build an interconnected internet network with thousands of satellites, known in the space industry as a constellation, designed to deliver high-speed internet to consumers anywhere on the planet.
The company launches as many as 60 Starlink satellites at a time with its Falcon 9 rockets, but it has also included the satellites as “rideshares” on missions for other customers.
The Federal Communications Commission in November 2018 approved SpaceX to launch 11,943 satellites, with the company aiming to deploy 4,425 satellites in orbit by 2024.
SpaceX said in August that it is “building 120 satellites per month,” and company officials told the FCC last week that it continues to ramp up its launch rate to match that production.
Court tosses murder conviction over fire in secret tunnels
COLLEGE PARK, Md. — A Maryland appeals court on Friday overturned a wealthy stock trader’s conviction on a murder charge in the fiery death of a man who was secretly helping him dig tunnels for a nuclear bunker beneath a home in a tony suburb of Washington, D.C.
Daniel Beckwitt, 29, was sentenced in 2019 to nine years in prison after a jury convicted him of second-degree “depraved heart” murder and involuntary manslaughter for the death of 21-year-old Askia Khafra, who was burned beyond recognition in the September 2017 fire at Beckwitt’s home.
Firefighters found Khafra’s naked, charred body in the basement of Beckwitt’s trash-filled house, only a few steps from an exit. Prosecutors said the extreme hoarding conditions in the Bethesda, Maryland, home prevented Khafra from escaping.
Ex-FBI lawyer gets probation for Carter Page FISA email deception in Durham investigation
Judge James Boasberg of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia denied the Justice Department’s efforts seeking up to six months behind bars, instead giving Kevin Clinesmith probation, 400 hours of community service within a year, and a special assessment of $100 to the court but no fine.
Boasberg claimed Friday that Clinesmith had been “abused” and “vilified” on a “national scale” in handing down his sentence, though he did acknowledge that the FISA Court’s reputation “has suffered” from the ex-FBI lawyer’s actions.
Boasberg, who is also the current presiding judge on the FISA court, ruled in January that he would not award Page restitution under the Crime Victims’ Rights Act but allowed him 10 minutes to speak about the harm caused by the June 2017 FISA renewal against him.
Page said Friday that “you have noted the personal life of the defendant — my own personal life has been severely impacted too” as he described being “frequently harassed on the streets, and even under the streets” saying he had been accosted on the metro underneath a federal courthouse.

Trump Campaign Pollster: Effort to Cancel Trump Is ‘Backfiring’
“It’s backfiring,” John McLaughlin told Newsmax on Thursday. “What they’re doing on impeachment, people see it is unfair, unconstitutional, going against the president.”
McLaughlin said that Americans are more concerned with the CCP virus and other issues.
“It’s having no impact on his base, in fact, it’s just solidifying them and making them angrier or more upset,” McLaughlin said of the impeachment efforts. “Because the people outside the Beltway agree” that it is essentially unconstitutional, he said.
McLaughlin told the broadcaster that some polls show as many as 75 percent of battleground voters view the forthcoming trial as a “waste of time” and “money.”

As Senate Democrats mull their options for convicting or censuring Trump and banning him from future public office for allegedly inciting insurrection, experts said their incitement case against him was dealt a severe blow this week when federal prosecutors charged three men in the Capitol attack, alleging their communication and coordination dated back to November.
For speech to meet the threshold of incitement, a speaker must, first, indicate a desire for violence and, second, demonstrate a capability or reasonable indication of capability to carry out the violence, according to Kevin Brock, former assistant director of intelligence for the FBI.
In Trump’s case, Brock said, there were neither.

Flying Cars Airport Of The Future To Land In England
LONDON (Reuters) – An airport for flying cars will thrust the English city of Coventry into the future later this year, with a project aimed at demonstrating how air taxis will work in urban centres.
Urban-Air Port, a British-based start-up, has partnered with car giant Hyundai Motor to develop the infrastructure required for when flying cars take to the skies to ferry around people and goods.
From November, visitors to Coventry will be able to see what a flying car airport looks like and see a passenger-carrying drone and an operational electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicle on the landing pad.
France to avoid new lockdown but close borders to non-EU countries
French Prime Minister Jean Castex announced the measure Friday night after an emergency government health security meeting at the presidential palace, warning of a “great risk” from the new variants.
All those arriving from other EU countries will be required to produce a negative virus test, he said. France will also close all large shopping centres starting Sunday and limit travel to and from its overseas territories.
Castex ordered an increase in police checks of those who violate France’s 12-hour-a-day curfew, hold secret parties or reopen restaurants in defiance of a closure order in place since October.
Blast outside Israel’s New Delhi embassy damages cars; security raised worldwide
Israeli authorities were treating the explosion as a suspected terror attack aimed at the embassy, The Times of Israel has learned, and was stepping up security precautions at missions around the world.
“The assessment is that this was an attempted attack aimed at the embassy this evening,” Ambassador Ron Malka later told Channel 12 News, adding that the blast went off “a few dozen meters from the embassy walls.”
The district around the embassy was sealed off after the explosion and police and bomb disposal experts took over the scene.
ISIS ‘Deputy’ Killed in Iraq, Says Iraqi Prime Minister
Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi announced Thursday that security forces have killed Abu Yaser al-Issawi, an ISIS commander who had claimed to be the leader of the terror group in Iraq and its “deputy caliph.”
According to AFP, citing security sources, Issawi was killed on Wednesday in a remote swathe of Iraq’s northern Kirkuk province in an operation backed by the U.S.-led coalition.
“The coalition carried out five air raids, killing at least 10 jihadists,” one of the sources told AFP.

Pakistan orders release of man convicted in beheaded American journalist’s death
In a 2019 letter, Sheikh admitted to being involved in Pearl’s beheading, but the Pakistani suspect’s lawyers only confirmed their client wrote it this week, the Associated Press reported.
Despite the recent evidence, the three-judge Supreme Court voted 2-1 to uphold Sheikh’s acquittal, ordering his release, the Peal family’s lawyer said.
If the acquittal is upheld, Washington has said they would attempt to have Sheikh extradited to the U.S. for a trial.
Acting Attorney General Monty Wilkinson said in a statement that the Department of Justice was “deeply concerned” by the Pakistani Supreme Court’s ruling.
