5-year-old boy caught on video taking on gunman during home invasion

“About four males knocked on the door, a juvenile who was inside opened that door, and those males forced themselves inside the home,” South Bend Police media liaison Christine Karsten told WNDU-TV.

Two of the suspects can be seen entering the family’s living room, where a woman is ironing alongside two children.

As the family scrambles around, the unnamed 5-year-old boy can be seen attempting to throw an object at one of the gunmen.

The gunman appears to knock the item out of the boy’s hand, but the boy remains unafraid and launches himself at the suspect, grabbing his forearm in an attempt to get him to stop.

”Tiegen discussed the shooting during an appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight on Monday evening.

Judge rules in favor of student and his Trump-mural school parking space

A federal judge has ruled a Louisiana school superintendent and her school board violated a student’s First Amendment rights by painting over his school parking spot — which had included a large mural of President Trump.

Seniors at Pine Junior-Senior High School in the Washington Parish School District are permitted to personalize their assigned parking spot for a $25 fee. Ned Thomas opted to paint President Trump donned in stars and stripes sunglasses and a bandana.

Thomas’s painting was approved by Pine’s principal as the image did not violate the “Senior Paint Your Parking Space” policy. This policy prohibits profanity, lewd images and other students’ names, according to Nola.com.

However, Superintendent Frances Varnado and the school board decided the mural was “too political.” Varnado cited the “divisive” campaign season and claimed the painting “would cause further division and disruption among students.”

Levin: Do you choose liberty or tyranny?

Commentary/Opinion: Mark Levin.
For most of us, there are few if any opportunities to demonstrate our devotion to this great nation.

Those among us who join the military or law enforcement and protect our people from foes, foreign and domestic, are small in number.

We must ask ourselves: What will our children and grandchildren think of us, how will history judge us, what would our ancestors say of us, if we so casually and without duress turn aside mankind’s greatest achievement and vote for a thousand years of decline, gloom, and doom?

Each successive generation must commit to ensuring that the next generation lives free.

We must reflect on the selflessness with which Americans have sacrificed and died, on battlefields throughout the world and in our own Revolutionary and Civil Wars, so that we might appreciate what we have inherited —

Michigan Supreme Court: Gretchen Whitmer’s Coronavirus Orders Are Voided Now, Not October 30

On October 2, the Court ruled that the 1945 law Whitmer has been using to justify a “state of emergency” and her lockdown orders was unconstitutional, effectively negating any executive orders related to it.

Whitmer attacked the Court and claimed that her orders remained in effect until October 30.

On Monday, the Court responded: No.

“Justices ruled 4-3 that the orders issued under the 1945 Emergency Powers of the Governor Act ‘are of no continuing legal effect,’” according to ABC 12.

Louisiana House advances measures to suspend enforcement of COVID-19 restrictions

The State Fire Marshall’s Office is responsible for enforcing those restrictions. HCR 13 would suspend those enforcement powers until the middle of next year, 60 days after the end of the regular session.

Miguez said state officials and residents have “flattened the curve” of COVID-19 infections, so the restrictions no longer are necessary.

He also said Edwards, a Democrat, has exceeded his proper emergency authority by, for example, instituting a mask mandate when no statute gives him the right to do so.

He said government’s proper role is to educate the public on how they can protect public health, not to dictate what people should do.

US Air Force Targets Taliban With Airstrikes For Violating Recent Peace Deal

The U.S. Air Force conducted multiple targeted strikes this week to defend Afghan forces facing attacks from Taliban fighters in the province of Helmand, military spokesman Col. Sonny Leggett said Monday.

The attacks carried out by the U.S. were consistent with a deal made between the U.S. and the Taliban in February, Leggett said. However, the attacks executed by the Taliban reportedly violated the deal.

“The Taliban need to immediately stop their offensive actions in Helmand Province and reduce their violence around the country,” the Commander of the U.S. Forces in Afghanistan Gen. Scott Miller said, according to Leggett.

The UK’s biggest gym chain could mount legal action after being told to close its venues in Liverpool, a decree it says has “no scientific basis” and will destroy businesses.

PureGym said it was “extremely disappointed” at being ordered to close seven venues on the back of strict new tier 3 coronavirus restrictions in the area.

Humphrey Cobbold, the chief executive of PureGym, urged politicians to reconsider the “retrograde step which has no scientific basis”.

The plans, initially a pilot project, with no details about how they would be rolled out, were announced to MPs on Tuesday by the care minister, Helen Whately.

They are a win for families and charities that have been calling for months for relatives to be given the same key worker status as staff.

Along with testing, the single designated relative would be trained in the use of PPE, she said, although she was unable to give a date for when the pilot would begin.
