Knowing that many defenders of teachers who refuse to return to work would surely argue that nurses and teachers are fundamentally different on the essentiality scale,
McConnell noted that the country is essentially at war and the people in positions that keep our society in tact are needed at the front lines.
“This was a war, and I was a soldier,” she said, then remembering when the pandemic first started.
“It wasn’t my choice to serve, but it was my duty; I had skills and knowledge that were needed.”

The business of racial justice has been far more lucrative for Al Sharpton than he would have you believe. It has just been confirmed that he has made over $1 million in compensation since the Black Lives Matter movement was started.
When Sharpton was asked about his large salary, he replied, “It’s a six-day-a-week job and several hours a day, and when [the compensation firm] compared it to other companies, other non-profits, that’s the salary that they would get.”
It seems that the business of social justice is far more lucrative than anyone thought indeed.
Uptick In Violent Crime Continues In Minneapolis
More people have been shot in Minneapolis this year compared to the last five. Homicides have also increased with at least 41 reported so far this year. In 2019, there were only 48 homicides total.
“The criminals feel like they can do whatever they want to do,” said Rich Walker Sr., Director of the Minneapolis Police Federation. “They know the police department is at a vulnerable state right now with staffing levels and with morale.”
Minneapolis police are down at least 100 officers in the last two-months. Among them is over six dozen officers who have taken medical leave for PTSD in the wake of the riots.
Facebook’s Fact-Check Board Gets a Lot of ‘Likes’ From Soros
“The board members come from different professional, cultural and religious backgrounds and have various political viewpoints,” they wrote in a New York Times op-ed on May 6. “Some of us have been publicly critical of Facebook; some of us haven’t.”
Contemporaneous news articles reinforced this message, reporting that the board’s ideologically and geographically diverse members criss-cross the ideological spectrum.
A closer look, however, reveals that 18 of its 20 members collaborated with or are tied to groups that have received funding from George Soros’ Open Society Foundations – which is one of the most well-funded and influential progressive organizations in the country.

Ray Hermosillo, a cop from Rexburg, Idaho, said he and other investigators began digging on Daybell’s local rural property on the afternoon of June 10 after seeing a suspicious mound of freshly laid sod.
There were three white stones eerily lined up in a row directly under the patch of sod, as well as a thin piece of wood paneling, the cop testified.
The stench that hit the officers as they began digging was overwhelming, he added.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a shooting shortly after 12:45 a.m. PST on Mulholland Drive in Beverly Hills, the agency wrote on Twitter, at a crowded house party that was reportedly hosted to honor an athlete who had just been drafted to the NFL, according to CBS Los Angeles.
Local affiliate FOX 11 LA reported early Tuesday morning that the shooting was believed to be gang-related and one of the victims had died. While LAFD previously said there were three total shooting victims, FOX 11 reported the additional person had taken themselves to a local hospital for a gunshot wound, though their condition was not clear.
According to the CBS report, a fifth victim was injured while running away from the gunfire.

Black Lives Matter Protesters Swarm Seattle Police Chief’s Home
Dozens of vehicles lined the road as roughly 200 protesters, “mostly white men and women in their twenties,” gathered in the neighborhood to protest, according to the Lynwood Times.
The protesters wore masks and held signs reading, “Black Lives Matter.”
The outlet reported that protesters “shouted profanity and insults at neighbors, took license plate information on vehicles, took pictures of homes, and asked little kids who lived in the neighborhood what schools they attended.”
Some demonstrators attempted to head to Best’s residence (she was not at home at the time) but were stopped by neighbors, who “established a perimeter to protect her [Best’s] home from possible mischief.”

Walz requests federal disaster declaration to rebuild after $500M in riot damage
“We need to work together to support Minnesotans who lost their homes and businesses to this destruction – that’s why we’ve asked our federal partners to step in,” Walz said in a statement.
“We remain committed to working with the impacted communities to restore their vitality in the wake of this damage.”
Walz requested a major disaster declaration in early July to provide public assistance for $15 million of eligible damages to public property, which was denied.
Walz said he’s in the process of appealing that decision.
Trump approves Whitmer’s National Guard extension through December, will split costs 75/25
Whitmer asked Trump on July 10 to extend the Michigan National Guard deadline to run mobile screening facilities and COVID-19 tests, distribute food and medical supplies, and “support public safety when required”, according to the letter.
The extension federally funds 75 percent of the Guard’s cost from August 21, 2020, to December 31, 2020, and bills the state at 25 percent.
Whitmer, again, asked for more federal funding to fill the state’s $3 billion budget shortfall for fiscal year 2021.
Trump fires Tennessee Valley Authority chairman over outsourcing jobs to foreign workers
(The Center Square) – In response to the Tennessee Valley Authority’s plan to outsource 20 percent of its tech jobs to foreign workers, President Donald Trump has fired TVA’s board chairman and called for TVA to hire a new CEO.
Trump told reporters at the White House on Monday he fired TVA chairman James “Skip” Thompson, along with another board member, The Associated Press reported.
“Let this serve as a warning to any federally appointed board: If you betray American workers, you will hear two words: ‘You’re fired,’ ” Trump said.

Beirut blast: Massive explosion shakes Lebanon’s capital; at least 10 dead
At least 10 people have died as a result of the explosion, Lebanese security officials told Fox News. The cause of the explosion remains unclear.
The Lebanese Red Cross tweeted that more than 30 teams were responding to the scene of the blast via ambulances.
The cause of the blast is under investigation but Hezbollah is already in the limelight, multiple intelligence sources told Fox News.

Investigative Issues: The Troubling Fact Is That Media Fact-Checkers Tend to Lean ← Left
That discord is likely to persist because in large part the fact-checking solution is illusory.
Many such efforts fail because they amount to a circular feedback loop of verification.
The fact-checkers are like-minded journalists or often liberal Silicon Valley gatekeepers, who frequently rely on partisan news sources and political activists to control narratives on a wide variety of issues and controversies.
This small group of players exerts an oversized influence, using fact checks to shape and censor information.
One measure of the problems in “objective” fact-checking is the vastly disparate treatment accorded two of the most established partisan outfits – the conservative Media Research Center and the liberal Media Matters.
