De Blasio says officer who pulled gun on protesters should be fired. Then a full video of incident surfaced.

The Police Benevolent Association of New York City, the local police union, published a 27-second video on Monday showing the moments leading up to the officer in question pulling his service weapon on protesters.

The video shows a protester hit a police supervisor in the head with a brick. The supervisor was hit so violently, in fact, that he immediately fell to the ground.

The officer in question then responded by pointing his firearm at protesters to protect his supervisor.

“Now we have the full story: this police officer unholstered his weapon only after his supervisor was nearly killed with a brick,” the NYC PBA said.

DPS Director Steve McCraw said investigators uncovered information online pointing to the far-left activist group, Antifa, as having organized rioters to wreak havoc and take advantage of protesters, specifically at an Austin Target.

He said it was the job of the police to protect peaceful protesters exercising their constitutional right to peaceably assemble.

However, criminals and “thugs,” he said, have been, and will be, arrested.

“Don’t do that to me,” Diaz responded.

In remarks Monday evening, Trump said he was “an ally of all peaceful protesters,” but took a hard-line stance against those who choose violence.

“We will end it now,” Trump said. The president urged governors to seek the aid of the National Guard, warning that if states and cities fail to protect their residents, he will send the military to do it instead.

Rioters Burn Building With Child Trapped Inside, Then Block Firefighters

Refusing to allow the child to burn to death, the determined Richmond police officers managed to force their way inside the burning building so the firefighters could do their jobs.

“Officers were able to help those people out of the house,” Chief Smith told reporters, choking back tears. “We were able to get the fire department there safely.”

South Philly gunstore owner guarding shop overnight shoots, kills armed looter: report

Greg Isabella, who owns the Firing Line Inc, one of the oldest gun shops in the city, said he saw a group of looters on his surveillance video breaking a padlock on his gate using bolt cutters and descending on his shop in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred just after 4 a.m. when Isabella then confronted the thieves, and one — in a group of what he says consisted of 3 or 4 people– pointed a gun at him, according to reports by Fox affiliate WTFX.

Isabella fatally shot the gun-wielding robber using an AR-15 and the alleged thief died on the scene, reports say. The owner likely injured a second suspect in the shoulder.

Philly residents protect store from looters: ‘We stand with peaceful protesters,’ not rioters

In an interview on “Fox & Friends” with host Ainsley Earhardt, Giordano stated that his organization mobilized against the crime because they are “just tired.”

“We are fed up with the crime and the revolving door in the criminal justice system, the looting, and the rioting,” he asserted.

“This was not protesting that was happening in Philadelphia and around the country. This was looting and rioting and criminal behavior. And we were not going to stand for it.”

The development comes St. Louis confirmed four officers were shot by gunfire after peaceful protests turned violent overnight, with rioters stealing goods and setting buildings ablaze in the downtown area.

GOP Lawmakers Craft Plan to Battle China in Emerging Tech

As China invests $1.4 trillion over the next five years to dominate the field of cutting-edge technologies, the United States must create its own plan to foster innovation in this area, McMorris Rodgers said.

Her plan, which is garnering support among House Republicans, would increase federal research into new technologies and remove much of the bureaucratic red tape currently restraining the private sector.

While the United States cannot compete by throwing money at the problem, it can eliminate many of the restrictions that have prevented the federal government from partnering with private tech startups already making inroads into these technologies.

Victor Davis Hanson rips authorities for trying to ‘contextualize,’ apologize’ and ‘approve’ violence

Commentary/Opinion:
Historian and Hoover Institution senior fellow Victor Davis Hanson suggested on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Monday that Democratic leaders who have failed to deescalate riots and looting in their cities have done so in the hope that “this disaster would succeed in getting rid of Donald Trump.”

“It’s [an] election year and I think a lot of the Left thought where Robert Mueller, impeachment, COVID, and the lockdown failed, maybe this disaster would succeed in getting rid of Donald Trump,” Hanson said.

Tucker: Our leaders dither as our cities burn (GRAPHIC VIDEO)

Commentary/Opinion:
The nation went up in flames this weekend. No one in charge stood up to save America. Our leaders dithered. They cowered. They openly sided with the destroyers. In many cases, they egged them on.

Later, they will deny doing any of this. They are denying it now. But you know the truth because you saw it happen.

People will not forgive weakness. That’s not a partisan point, it’s human nature.

The ruling Chinese Communist Party stepped up its international propaganda drive with a celebrity signature campaign in support of draconian sedition laws for Hong Kong, as the city’s police banned the annual candlelight vigil for the victims of the 1989 Tiananmen massacre for the first time since the 1997 handover to Chinese rule.

In a move widely condemned by foreign governments and rights groups as signaling the end of Hong Kong’s autonomy and status as a separate legal jurisdiction, the law will be imposed on the city, bypassing its Legislative Council (LegCo).

The prospect of China’s feared state security police operating in the city to enforce the law has prompted a rush to apply for British National Overseas (BNO) passports offered to residents of Hong Kong by the U.K. ahead of the handover.
