The Cross was erected by the American Legion and the grieving mothers of the forty-nine soldiers from Prince George County, Maryland, who were killed in World War I, in commemoration of the soldiers’ service to the Nation.
The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling suggested that the Cross must be destroyed, or some other arrangement made to avoid a violation of the Establishment Clause of the U.S. Constitution.
The forty-foot Cross, which now stands on land at a busy intersection in Maryland, was erected in the 1920s.
Bernie Sanders’ ‘Medicare for all’ bill estimated to cost $32.6T, new study says
The “Medicare for All” plan pushed by Sen. Bernie Sanders and endorsed by a host of Democratic congressional and presidential hopefuls would increase government health care spending by $32.6 trillion over 10 years, according to a new study.
The Vermont senator has avoided conducting his own cost analysis, and those supporting the plan have at times struggled to explain how they could pay for it.
The study, released Monday by the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, showed the plan would require historic tax increases.
Gemmel Moore investigation: Prosecutors decline to file charges against Dem donor in fatal overdose
Prosecutors have declined to file charges against major Democratic donor Ed Buck in the case of Gemmel Moore, a male escort who was found dead inside Buck’s West Hollywood home last summer.
Moore, 26, was found by police on July 27, 2017, inside the apartment of Buck, 63. Buck, a well-known figure in LGBT political circles, has given more than $500,000 to a range of Democratic groups and candidates — including Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.
Ambulances Transport Two Hemorrhaging Women in Three Days From Troubled Chicago Abortion Clinic
Chicago, IL – Emergency 911 records received by Operation Rescue reveal that two women were hospitalized within three days of each other last March after having abortions at Family Planning Associates Medical Group (FPA) in Chicago, Illinois.
The Pro-Life Action League initially obtained the 911 records and released them to Operation Rescue for publication.
Both women suffered from bleeding so serious after their abortions that clinic staff called 911 for emergency help.

Marine veteran dies in crash after visit with newborn child
Barnstable police say 32-year-old Kevin Quinn, of Mashpee, was driving on Route 28 shortly after midnight on Saturday when his SUV collided with a vehicle that was headed in the opposite direction.
The driver of the other vehicle, 22-year-old Mickey Rivera, of Fall River, also died in the crash, and a female passenger was seriously injured.
East Haven explosion at vacant school injures one
Police said one person was injured, but it’s unclear how seriously. Officials said the 29 year old man suffered a serious injury to one hand as well as injury to his other hand and his abdomen as a result of the explosion. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police said, At this time, the explosion is believed to be caused by some type of firework, although this has not yet been confirmed. As additional details become available, they will released. The male’s name is not being released at this time. The incident remains under investigation.”
Kidnapping suspect arrested in New Britain; two teen girls targeted
Police said two teen girls, ages 14 and 15, said they were walking on Black Rock Avenue when a man in a SUV asked them for sex in exchange for money.
Police said he then forced the 14-year-old into his vehicle and the 15-year-old took off on foot. The 15-year-old found a bystander who she asked to call the police. The suspect drove by the 15-year-old’s location and she ran up to the vehicle and tried to free her friend.
Georgia rape suspect caught after high-speed chase ends in crash, police say
The suspect in a rape and kidnapping was arrested Sunday after allegedly leading Georgia cops on a high-speed chase — during which he crashed into another driver, officials said.
The chase began around 9:00 a.m., after a woman locked herself in the bathroom of a local Texaco station and called 911 to report she had been kidnapped and raped numerous times inside her van, FOX5 reported. Cops say the alleged attacker, Head, stole her van and fled.
Police release new video of suspect in killing of onetime George H.W. Bush doctor
Houston Police released new surveillance video Monday of a suspect in the murder of a prominent cardiologist who once treated former President George H.W. Bush.
Authorities posted the video on social media and said it showed the suspect riding a bicycle in a neighborhood moments after Dr. Mark Hausknecht was gunned down while riding his own bike to work on the morning of July 20.
New York brothers wake up to find intruder, beat and stab burglar to death, cops say
Police arrived at the scene to find the alleged burglar, who was not immediately identified, with head trauma and stab wounds to his torso. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made and police are investigating the incident.
Trump supporters pelted by eggs, punches can sue San Jose cops after attack, court says
Supporters of then-presidential candidate Donald Trump who were met with flying eggs and punches from counter protesters during a June 2016 San Jose campaign rally can sue the city’s police for allegedly failing to protect them, a new court ruling said.
The suit’s 20 plaintiffs claim in a lawsuit that police knowingly ordered them to leave through an exit where protesters were waiting, despite the existence of a safer route and other exits, the San Francisco Chronicle reported last week.
