“Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson took on a Democratic strategist who supports a California bill that would sentence elder care workers to jail time for addressing transgender residents by the wrong pronoun.
Carlson debated Robin Biro, who supports the bill that was authored by Democratic state Senator Scott Wiener of San Francisco. He challenged Biro right out of the gate, starting the interview by saying the bill “doesn’t sound very American” because it could send people to jail for saying something others don’t want to hear.” More here.> Prison for the wrong pronoun? “A photo of former President Barack Obama and his family serving food for victims of Hurricane Harvey went viral recently, drawing praise from thousands.
Except there is just one problem: it’s not actually the Obamas serving food for victims of Harvey.
According to Getty Images, which distributed the picture, the photo was snapped in on Thanksgiving Day 2015. The picture actually shows the Obama family serving “Thanksgiving meals to homeless and at-risk veterans” at a shelter in Washington, D.C.

“Mmmmm, the smell of fresh baked bread. We all love a good sandwich, and who doesn’t fall for those yummy crispy squares of toast in the morning? You don’t need a knife to cut through a loaf: you can buy it sliced and just enjoy. Whether it’s white or whole grain, rye or pumpernickel, all you need to do is hit the nearest supermarket.
Pre-sliced loaves hit the market in 1928, heralded as “the greatest forward step in the baking industry since bread was wrapped.”
However, during the Second World War, the step forward halted mid-stride when sliced bread was briefly banned in the United States.” More here.> During World War II sliced bread was briefly banned in America

No one seems to know what it is, how deep it’s buried or how it got there.” More here.> Beach association will try again to remove ‘mystery object’
Deep State / Government Corruption:
Weekly Update: JW Exposes the Deep State
“The front-line Homeland Security agency charged with keeping terrorists and their weapons out of the United States wasted $5 million on lie detector tests for “unsuitable” job candidates that admitted committing criminal acts or drug use. This is disturbing for several reasons, mainly that this crucial agency, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an essential part of the nation’s security yet it considers hiring agents with criminal histories. Secondly, it’s an inexcusable waste of taxpayer dollars, though that’s a government-wide epidemic hardly limited to this agency.” More here.> DHS Blows $5 Mil on Polygraphs for “Unsuitable” Job Applicants Who Admit Criminal Acts, Drug Use

The former deputy assistant to President Trump resigned shortly after White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon and Gorka’s old boss at Breitbart was fired. Bannon came under scrutiny after critics accused him of being a white nationalist.
The president’s ‘Make America Great Again’ platform that propelled him to the Oval Office faces a lot of opposition by White House officials, Gorka told “Fox & Friends” Tuesday.” Video and more here.> Gorka: I Resigned Because WH Officials Are Undermining MAGA Platform

WASHINGTON (AP) — “President Donald Trump is promising billions to help Texas rebuild from Harvey-caused epic flooding, but his Republican allies in the House are looking at cutting almost $1 billion from disaster accounts to help finance the president’s border wall.
The pending reduction to the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s disaster relief account is part of a massive spending bill that the House is scheduled to consider next week when lawmakers return from their August recess. The $876 million cut, which is included in the 1,305-page measure’s homeland security section, pays for roughly half the cost of Trump’s down payment on the U.S.-Mexico border wall that the president repeatedly promised Mexico would finance.” More here.> House GOP eyeing $1B disaster funds cut to finance wall

“The last few months have put the Japanese government on edge. A mere 650 miles of ocean separate Japan from her Communist neighbor, and she’s getting caught in the crossfire between the United States and North Korea.
North Korea has begun flying missiles over Japan, and the Japanese government hasn’t been shy about which side they’re taking. Earlier this month, Japan announced that they’d shoot any missilesthat North Korea launched at the U.S. out of the air.
The Japanese also aren’t going to sit idly by; they’re going to make sure their people are prepared. In March 2017, they began doing nuclear missile drills. Free Speech / Censorship:
WASHINGTON — “In the hours after European antitrust regulators levied a record $2.7 billion fine against Google in late June, an influential Washington think tank learned what can happen when a tech giant that shapes public policy debates with its enormous wealth is criticized.
The New America Foundation has received more than $21 million from Google; its parent company’s executive chairman, Eric Schmidt; and his family’s foundation since the think tank’s founding in 1999. That money helped to establish New America as an elite voice in policy debates on the American left.
But not long after one of New America’s scholars posted a statement on the think tank’s website praising the European Union’s penalty against Google, Mr. Schmidt, who had been chairman of New America until 2016, communicated his displeasure with the statement to the group’s president, Anne-Marie Slaughter, according to the scholar.
The episode left some people concerned that Google intended to discontinue funding, while others worried whether the think tank could truly be independent if it had to worry about offending its donors.
Those worries seemed to be substantiated a couple of days later, when Ms. Slaughter summoned the scholar who wrote the critical statement, Barry Lynn, to her office. He ran a New America initiative called Open Markets that has led a growing chorus of liberal criticism of the market dominance of telecom and tech giants, including Google, which is now part of a larger corporate entity known as Alphabet, for which Mr. Schmidt serves as executive chairman.
Ms. Slaughter told Mr. Lynn that “the time has come for Open Markets and New America to part ways,” according to an email from Ms. Slaughter to Mr. Lynn. The email suggested that the entire Open Markets team — nearly 10 full-time employees and unpaid fellows — would be exiled from New America.” More here.> Google Critic Ousted From Think Tank Funded by the Tech Giant
